I got a shrimp bowl, which was 3 skewers of 3 shrimp on a bed of white rice with some cabbage. Super simple, but tasty, juicy shrimp at $10 in 2025 is fine with me. You can add a salad and miso soup for $3, or get a plate which comes with other stuff. I also got potstickers, which were crispy and delicious even without a sauce. Ambiance was simple and spare, nobody else in the restaurant. Clearly labeled menus and a clean interior. No bathrooms that I noticed, but maybe I missed it. How have I lived here 5 years and not known this place existed?! It's a cute little hole in the wall Japanese Teriyaki place. I got the house plate which includes chicken, steak, and shrimp. It also comes with a small side of noodles potato salad. The meat lays on top of steamed rice. It's a pretty large portion for $13.50. They were very busy when I arrived on a Saturday at 4pm and my food came out in less than 5 minutes. They also do party platters and serve boba as well. They have sushi rolls as well which I'm definitely going to try next time. Can't wait to come back. read more

Provender: this is a nice mom and pop teriyaki joint in the valley. They offer various teriyaki dishes, chicken cutlet, and noodles. I ordered the chicken and beef combination plate, which comes on top of a bed of rice with noodles, cabbage, potato salad, and an orange slice. The chicken and beef were both excellent. They also give you teriyaki sauce and hot sauce on the side. Prices: the chicken and beef combination and an order of egg rolls or run about $15. They also give you very little for the chicken plate portion, but it tastes ok. You can get better portion and food taste better at flame broiler or waba grill at a lesser cost. It came with noodles, which I couldn't eat because it smelled strange, so I simply dumped it. The side of potato's also didn't taste fresh- went to trash. Tempura was the only good thing. This is a great small place to just get some casual Japanese food. I got the cutlet plate and it comes with a good amount of cutlet, rice, yakisoba, scoop of mash potatoes, and a salad. Everything tasted good and fresh as I even heard them fry the cutlet as I waited. The only problem with the food was that the cutleg was very thin and thus did not taste as good or was as juicy as other cutlets I've had from other places. The prices are comparable to other Japanese places as of right now but its a shame as this place used to be the most affordable japnese place out of all of them near me. Great quality food for the price. The steak teriyaki is my favorite and the chicken is good too. I like ordering their plate because it comes with their delicious potato salad, and a green salad with yummy dressing. Plate also comes with both rice and noodles, too. I've been coming here for 28 years now. The only reason it gets a 4 and not a 5 star is when ownership changed 7 years ago, they changed the teriyaki sauce, why??? They have the recipe, I know because I've asked, but they go with the new "healthier" option. Otherwise, the salad dressing is still one of the best I've ever had. I love their yakisoba Noodles. When I'm eating no carbs, I'll get the salad plates with extra cabbage (mmmmmmm). So I've came to this place three times now in the past month. Let me tell you why.... They have a daily special of chicken teriyaki for $5.99, which is an awesome deal and it's a huge amount of food. It's delicious and as you can see in the picture you get all that for $5.99. Not to mention the lady who works there is super friendly and she even allowed me to switch out the California roll for a spicy tuna roll for a little bit extra. There's a lot of Wasabi, because I like Wasabi, LOL. But besides that , they have a great selection or chicken, beef, seafood, bowls and they have sushi as well (obviously). They also have a variety or Boba Drinks. I love this place. Its super cheap for great food. Their Japanese Chicken Curry dish is almost as good as the curry house in little tokyo. It was only $4 I was shocked. OMG Then my girlfriend got a combo with tempura shrimp. Really Good stuff. Dipping sauce for the tempura, we upgraded to brown rice and it also came with noodles and potatoe salad. The noodles were mediocre but the potatoe salad was great with sweet and tangy taste to it. They also gave her a small salad which tasted good too. This restaurant seems to have a problem serving hot, freshly cooked food. I had ordered take-out from there in the past, and the teriyaki was room temperature, and so was the sushi (!). But that was a couple of years ago, and I assumed that it was an isolated incident, so I gave them another chance. But it doesn't seem like they've changed or improved at all. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with California roll and a side order of egg rolls. The chicken was STONE COLD (not to mention dry and off-tasting), and the rice was tepid. I took one bite of the egg roll, and spit it right back out. It was mushy and luke warm. I didn't even want to risk trying the California roll. When I took it back, the owner was very apologetic and tried to blame the woman who cooked it, claiming that she was new, but that food had obviously been sitting around at room temperature long before I even ordered it. I picked it up 10 minutes after placing my order, and there's NO WAY that food got THAT cold so fast. She refunded my money and apologized profusely, but I explained to her that it's dangerous to serve people food that's been sitting out at room temperature for an extended period of time, and that bacteria starts to form when the temperature drops below 144°F (I used to work in the restaurant business), and they risk giving their customers food poisoning. I've given them two chances in as many years, and had the exact same experience each time. If they're lax about serving food at safe temperatures, I don't want to think about what other health issues they disregard. Eat there at your own risk. read more
