His attention to detail and craftsmanship were evident with every bite. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice to start, Baked Crab Handroll, Spicy Scallop Handroll, Halibut Nigiri, Amberjack Nigiri, Spicy Yellowtail "Joe" Handroll, Baked Scallop Cut roll, Yellowtail Belly Nigiri, and Toro Nigiri. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The Yellowtail Belly and Toro Nigiri were especially memorable, melting in my mouth with rich, buttery texture. I came here on a lunch break and got two handrolls, one spicy yellowtail and one baked crab. There was nobody else in the restaurant, which was sort of expected for it only being 4:30. Lots of tables, nice music playing. The fish tasted fresh and the spicy mayo was quite yummy, though there was a lot of it. Was surprised that they did their baked crab on seaweed instead of soy paper. The seaweed got pretty soggy, but it tasted good. Subtracted a star because I do think this place is a little too pricy - though if I could say 4.5 stars I would . I know sushi is expensive but there isn't much that sets it apart to justify the price tag. My two handrolls came out to just under $30 after tax and tip. One was $10 and the other was $12, and they were regular-sized handrolls; good but nothing incredible. Next time I'll probably get a chirashi bowl, which is $20. read more

Hole in the wall sushi spot w/ a limited menu and parking. Decent pace of people (half the tables) were seated at around 7PM on a Thursday. Food was alright. - Chirashi w/ Miso (menu stated $20, but I got charged $24 which I didn't notice until after leaving): Decent cuts of sashimi on a bed of rice that was a little too soaked with vinegar. It still tasted yummy and the texture was nice with a slight chew, but towards the bottom it was too tart. The tuna didn't taste as fresh as the other cuts of fish. Miso soup was grainier than I would've liked but tasty. - Salmon Carpaccio ($18): Nice presentation but salmon wasn't very fresh imo and the ponzu sauce was cloudy. Not my favorite. Service was friendly and checked up on us often. Inside was relatively clean, but I was a little put off by how the sushi chef wasn't wearing gloves. I wasn't paying attention the whole time, but I can only noticed him washing his hands once in between the 4 parties that were served. I'm not too confident in the quality of fish here, but I do think their specialty rolls have more promise based on presentation and hopefully taste. read more

We had a really great time at this restaurant. My cousin and I met up for some catch-up time and decided on Moon Sushi based on its Yelp reviews. We arrived and the place was packed. We were cheerfully greeted by the owner and seated at the bar. We were starving so we started with the Garlic Edamame and the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice appetizers. I added a seaweed salad. My cousin ordered the Baked Salmon Roll and I had the Saturn Roll. They also do substitutions with no problem. Not only was the food delicious but the atmosphere was FUN. The restaurant was packed until closing and we were all just having the best time. My cousin and I decided to make it our favorite sushi spot. It was not busy but we went early and it's Sunday. Service was excellent and efficient. Food delivery was quick and our waiter Folk kept checking back repeatedly. The ambiance was casual and comfortable. Space was well lighted and easy to navigate. The food was very good. Sushi was fresh and special rolls were creative with good flavor combinations. STAY AWAY! Where do I start? The service was terrible. The red-haired fellow who apparently owns the place is extremely rude. I walked in and he practically shouted at me what did I want. No welcome or nice to see you, just very gruff. I sat down and ordered shrimp tempura and shishito peppers and waited at least 10 minutes before asking the owner what was the holdup. in a really rude way that they got backed up and it would be out soon. He didn't go to check to see where the food was or in a nice way say anything helpful. The food was absolutely nothing. The shishito peppers were small and they were very few of them topped by what was supposed to be crispy onions which were soggy. The shrimp tempura was poor, the sauce had little flavor the shrimp were small and the batter was soggy as well. The Japanese scallop was tasty but I've had much larger Japanese scallops at other restaurants. The atmosphere is nothing much at all with the bathroom being the nicest ambience of all. Don't order here. Very slow, rude service, bland food. First time we ordered they left out one of the 2 rolls we ordered. They called to let us know and we don't live far so we went to pick it up. Turns out they never even made it so we had to wait another 15 minutes for them to make it while the rest of the order was being delivered to our house. The next time we decided to pick up since the delivery was so bad the first time. Not only did it take 50 minutes to get a small order, they lied about the order. Said we were just waiting for 1 more item but they actually did not start our order at all. When it was finally ready, I checked the entire order since we had been burned by them before. I told the guy who gave me the food that we didn't get all of our food the last time and he said, "I don't know about that." Yeah, like I lied about it? He said he thought I did. Instead of being accommodating and apologetic about the lateness of our order, the restaurant was rude and dismissive. Too bad. The sushi at moon sushi is always amazing and delicious! My favorite rolls are the moon and Jupiter rolls, they have a delicious taste that I can't find anywhere else. Also for dessert you MUST try the ice cream sandwich, easily one of the best ice cream desserts you can find in the valley. We ordered from Moon Sushi for the first time tonight on Doordash. We noticed that the Doordash app still said "preparing order" past the estimated delivery time so I called the restaurant and they said that the driver was on the way and should be there shortly. I called Doordash to figure out if they had an update on their end and while I was on the phone with them, I received a phone call from the driver to let me know that she was arriving.... But the incredible thing was that the driver was actually Tanya, the owner of Moon Sushi. She said that the app never sent a dasher so she jumped in her car to personally deliver our meal. We ordered the spicy tuna crispy rice as a starter and it was warm, crispy, and delicious! I always love tamago as a simple staple; this one was served with soy sauce on the rice, which i wasn't used to, but tasted ok! It was difficult to choose between the special rolls because they all sounded so good! I ended up ordering the Mercury special roll and it was drenched in ponzu sauce which lead to the rice nearly falling apart as i picked the rolls up. It had everything i loved except the sauce nearly overpowered the rest of the ingredients of the roll, which i was looking forward to. My boyfriend ordered the sashimi combination which he liked.
