Came here on the suggestion of a friend. Was not disappointed. I love all you can eat sushi spots, and this one did not disappoint. Parking is easy here, service is quick (came here on a Thursday night) and the food is great. I don't live in the valley so it was refreshing to try a new-to-me sushi spot!

I enjoyed the unagi sushi. However, the fried rice and chow mein didn't taste like anything, except oil. I got the sashimi combo plate with 15 pieces. The slices were very large, probably three times larger than most sashimi. The salmon was the best out of all of them, but again, they didn't taste like much and it felt like too much in my mouth. The wasabi was also very mild. Overall, I ended up feeling full, but not fulfilled. The food was both bland and off-putting.

This place is absolutely phenomenal! I come here pretty often, it's like a hidden treasure to me. Food is so delicious and the staff here is so welcoming and nice! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is really well maintained and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend and it's very affordable

The food is very tasty, can't beat the quantity and prices. I love ordering the 3 item combo plate that comes with a miso soup. I also like ordering the 911 roll. Something else that I enjoy is it has plenty of seating and the food come out quick. They fill all the check marks.

I was fighting a pretty rough hangover, and this bowl honestly brought me back to life. The broth was rich, full of flavor, and the spice level was just right. It had a nice kick without overpowering everything else. The first time I came here, I ordered the chicken karaage. Super crispy, juicy, and easily one of my favorite things on the menu. The restaurant itself is pretty small and cozy, which I liked. One thing to know is that the parking lot entrance is easy to miss if you're driving by on the main street. It's much easier to come in from the little street behind the plaza. If you're in the mood for ramen, I'd absolutely recommend giving Maru a try.

I don't eat pork, but I'm okay with pork broth, so I asked if I could substitute the pork chashu for chicken. What I received instead was popcorn chicken, which was unexpected and not at all what I had in mind. There was no communication that this would be the substitute, which made it even more frustrating. On top of that, I was still charged for it without any clarification beforehand. Transparency goes a long way, especially when making substitutions. Overall, between the lackluster flavor and the confusing substitution, it just didn't feel like a thoughtful or well-executed experience.

I also thought that her staff was nice and attentive. 5/5 Price: I feel that the food is well priced and competitive. This is one of the few Mitsuwa that doesn't have a food court (San Gabriel is another one without). The premade food section was surprisingly pretty good, better options than the Torrance or Santa Monica locations, imo. They do carry the same poke bowl that is also sold at Torrance. The store closes at 9:00pm, so the premade food section is pretty much cleared out and the self checkout is closed by around 8:00pm. The late hours actually got the busiest because only one staffed cash register was open and customers had to get in line instead of the self checkout. The store is clean and spacious, lots of self checkouts that are open during the day, and the bathrooms were clean (just need to get the code from a staff member!). I came three times on a weekday, once a little after lunch and another right around 5:30 and then around 8:00. Parking was a breeze every time. They have plenty of parking adjacent to the store. The other side of the shopping center gets a little busy, but Mitsuwa is at the comfortable corner closest to the train tracks. Getting out of the parking lot can be challenging because Tampa is a busy street and some people try to make a left turn out (I have my opinions about that lol). If heading out towards CSUN, the shopping center also has two exits out to Nordhoff so that worked well for me. I was in the area for a few job interviews... If I am hired nearby I'm definitely coming to this Mitsuwa a lot :)

They offer three versions of their tonkotsu ramen--Clear, Black, and Spicy. Of course, I ordered the Clear. Oh my goodness... this was exactly the ramen I'd been looking for. The broth was crystal clear yet incredibly rich and flavorful without being heavy. The chashu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy at all. The soft-boiled egg was cooked to perfection with a beautifully jammy yolk. The noodles reminded me of the ramen I had in Japan--simple, authentic, with the perfect texture and firmness.
