We called and placed a phone order on Saturday morning around 11:30am. We ordered the bulgogi ritto, and the fried shrimp ritto. The woman on the phone gave us an estimated wait time of 10 minutes. When we arrived, we quickly noticed how small the parking lot was. There were only two spots opened. I'm not sure what it would have looked like if we came during rush hour, but at least there was spots for us to park in. When we got inside it was pretty small with about 15 seats available for dine in. There was one other party there at the same time we were. Once we paid, we saw the fried shrimp coming from out of the kitchen, so we knew ours were almost ready since they just needed to wrap them up. This place was the definition of a local mom and pop business. Mom was running the cash register, and Pop was in the kitchen. They were two of the sweetest people. She even came out to the dining area to hand us our food, rather than screaming at us from behind the counter. We drove home (5 mins away), and I unpacked the food to find that each box was labeled. It probably wasn't necessary since we could very clearly see which was shrimp and which was bulgogi but I appreciated the small touches. My partner and I each had one half of the shrimp and one half of the bulgogi and it as unanimous that our favorite was the fried shrimp. They do include a sauce that has the slightest kick, but in my opinion it was the best kind of spicy where it isn't painful and it's actually quite pleasant, complimenting the fried shrimp very well. Overall - we are so glad we tried this little local spot. The fried shrimp ritto was so good, I want to try other items, but I know I'll be craving that fried shrimp ritto again. read more

What a gem in the Valley! Looks like it's literally run by a Korean mom and pop. When I walked in, the "mom" was at the counter and the "pop" was in the back kitchen. I called in to order takeout of a fried chicken and bulgogi "ritto" for two. It was a fast, delicious lunch! A 'ritto is a "burrito" style wrap-- white rice with seasoned protein, kimchi, special mayo, + optional chili all wrapped in Korean seaweed. The burrito itself is a bit fragile since it's large and the seaweed is the nice thin kind, so it's nice to eat it with a fork over a plate/box so you don't miss any bites I like a seaweed wrap which is fewer carbs than a flour/corn tortilla. The white rice is fluffy and sticky (all good things). The special mayo did it for me. The lettuce (romaine?) was crispy and fresh. There's space to sit inside if you want to dine in, and parking is easy as there's a lot. Located at the corner of Saticoy and Winnetka. Price is comparable to other protein-packed sandwiches in the Valley. And I like supporting local businesses that make yummy food. Looking forward to coming back soon. read more

Wanted ramen and I missed that this isn't the typical ramen. Rice instead . That being said , it was delicious. As for spicy , they give you a little container of diced jalapeño (or Soriano ) . An interesting Mexican fusion of ramen. Small parking lot. But no issues. Ate inside, they had a few small tables. The lady was nice when ordering. read more

Fantastic service and delicious food in a little shop run by a nice family. The pork belly bowl had such a nice balance of flavor and fat over a bed of rice with the perfect amount of kimchi and sauce and the green onion topping was chefs kiss. The dumplings in the ddeobokki was flavorful and meaty, the rice noodles were a fantastic firm texture and the sauce was sweet and spicy- it was my first time trying this dish and I'll definitely be ordering it again! OMG! This place was such a hidden gem. I hate that it took us so long to try Maru Bowl-Ritto. This is a cute little ma & pa spot. It all seem to be handmade as you order. The rittos were a great fusion of Korean and Mexican flavors and dishes. I loved the kimchi; it had such bright flavors. Inside the ritto, the kimchi was a nice complement to the other ingredients without overpowering all the other flavors. Inside the shop is small and cozy. There are a few tables to dine in. The interior has a warm energy and it feels welcoming. It has been a long time since I have found a great Korean-Mexican fusion place, and I am so happy we stumbled upon Maru. Finally got to try Maru Bowl after passing by it forever! I checked the reviews and I had to bookmark it. I got the kimchi bulgogli ritto to go. The restaurant is nice and clean and plenty of seating. Really cool and relaxing ambiance. The service was nice. I believe the owner was there and he was very welcoming and friendly. The ritto took a while to make but it was okay. The ritto tasted good but I would've like more flavor and more bulgogli. It was a little smaller than I anticipated. Can't believe i've been working next to this place nearly a year and have only stopped in to get ONEEE bowl. But oh, what a bowl it was! The pork belly bowl is crazy good. Get it with the spicy pepper and take a bite with a little bit of everything! The pork belly is tender, crispy, bite-sized unctiousness that feels rich and juicy and gets balanced perfectly with their kimchi and spicy pepper. I looooove kimchi, and next time i'll be getting extra from them because it's really good. Their mandu is also delicious. I eat them way too fast and get sad when they're gone. Their side of fried shrimp is good, but I wouldn't get it on its own again. Probably in a bowl if I can ever bring myself to try anything other than the pork belly bowl. This place is good! The first time I ordered here, I got the bulgogi kimchi bowl, which was very good. So good that I kept ordering it every time. You can't go wrong with that order. But it wasn't until my fifth visit here that I ordered the pork belly kimchi bowl. I gotta say, I like it even more than the bulgogi bowl. Especially if you get it spicy (it's not really that spicy - enough to warm up your face, but not enough to make you sweat). The richness of the pork's fatty bits are so well balanced by the kimchi, the green scallion, and the chopped up peppers. I think there's probably also a little bit of kewpie mayo in there, too (maybe). The egg with runny yolk is also a nice addition that goes well with everything in the bowl. Mix it all up with the rice, and you get the perfect bite, every time. The ddeok-bbokki is also very, very good. Very tasty sauce that goes well with the fish cake, rice cake, and especially the dumplings. The sauce has a nice spicy kick to it, so be cautioned if you don't like spicy food. I also tried a bite of my mom's order, the fried chicken kimchi bowl. Very tasty. The chicken pieces were crispy on the outside, and meat wasn't dry. Nothing wrong with it at all, but not my favorite item on their menu. This place is tucked away in an unassuming little plaza. It is run by an older Korean couple, both of whom are very nice. The place is clean, and there are tables inside. All of the times I got food here was to-go, and I haven't really seen people dining in here that often (I've seen plenty of other people picking up food to-go). The parking lot is a little small, so parking can be tricky during busier times. I've seen other people just double-park if they're picking up food to-go. All-in-all, this place has earned a regular spot on my take-out food rotation. I highly recommend this place for everyone to try. read more

I get the pork belly kimchi bowl regularly. When my grandmother suffered from dementia she would often reminisce about a sandwich she had once, or a bowl of pasta. When all other memories were fleeting, she would still remember good food. This pork belly kimchi bowl here is what I will reminisce about when my mind starts to go. I honestly love the food here. The burrito is absurdly delicious. The problem is the price to size ratio. $16 for a very small burrito and even smaller amount of actual meat is kind of ridiculous. But hey it's their business and they can charge what they want. I'm only writing this review because today I paid for my two burritos and asked for a tiny thing of spicy sauce on the side. The women running the register had an attitude at this request and muttered something in Korean then said "next time charge". It was just really rude to be treated like that over what was likely a 50 cent charge and even then why are you charging for spicy sauce on a $16 burrito?
