I had been told by another shop (after a 12 day wait) that removing the factory sights on this gun was very difficult and would cost $40 extra on top of the originally quoted price. I would give them 5 stars on the bases of their work and customer service that I have seen with my own eyes. Unfortunately from me it's only 2 stars. Have had a barrel project there for over 6 months. Cut barrel (12 ga.) to 18.5" and add sights. I could have figured this out myself in lot less time but I wanted to try them out. Past two times I was there to check up on it, I got excuses but it will be done "this week". Nothing so far. Marc is a really nice guy thus the 2 stars. I'll be by soon to pick up my barrel. Sorry. Brought my AK in for some work to be done, that was taken care off super quick and I asked for some more work to be done (change my pinned stock for a Magpul MOE stock, that I didn't have on me at the time). I took apart my rifle to clean and did Not feel comfortable putting it back together. I called March, they told me to bring it in. When I dropped off they said they would call that day with a price and confirmation that they could reassemble (on a Thursday). No call back until I called on the following Tuesday. I was told that they haven't looked at it and that he would call me back that night to discuss. No call back. I went in the following Friday to pick up a rifle in pieces. They never opened the box. Dropped off my Smith&Wesson SD40 on wednesday to get a new Apex trigger installed and a deep cleaning. They called me today, saturday, that my gun was ready. When i went to pick it up the trigger looked good. As soon as i pulled the slide back i noticed they didnt clean it. It was dirty just like i dropped it off. He said i didnt request a cleaning when i actually did, even messaged the owner here on Yelp before taking it in to get prices, so i have the proof. Then he also told me they removed the safety magazine release. Although its something i was thinking about doing, i never requested for them to do that. Maybe they confused me for someone else because i never asked them to do that. But thats fine, now i know to go somewhere else from now on.. read more

I was recently in Downey, and needed to find someone knowledgeable and capable to handle some guns from an estate my dad inherited from his family. I did some research for the area, and found Matchgrade Gunsmith company. I reached out, and eventually got in touch with the business owner, Sal. We made arrangements, and he was over that night to look over what we had. He made an initial offer, but was hesitant and said he wanted to do some research to give us an accurate price value for the estate. Sal reached out to us again with a higher offer for the collection, which we happily accepted. We also knew that there was a lot of live Ammo and powder on the property, and asked if he knew what to do with it; to which, he informed us that he is licensed and capable of handling himself. When we uncovered the powder and Ammo he came over to gather it all for disposal. I was looking at a few places, and ended up going here to get my AR 15 built. They are the best! I came in on a Thursday, and there were probably two people ahead of me. Mark was the only one there working, and there wasn't really any wait. Once he started building my AR, he said he was going to make few adjustments that would make my life easier. (I'm an AR noob so I don't know what adjustments he made just yet), though he did explain them to me, I will see if they do make my life easier down the line. He is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions I had about the gun. It was reasonably price too I feel. To build the lower it was $40, and upper was $60, so total was $100. I have a Walthers PPK, 380 pistol that was not feeding properly. I would fire one round and it would jam. I took it to Match Grade and told them my problem. The gunsmith told me it would take about 2 months to get to it and fix it. No problem with me. Exactly 2 months later, I got a call that my pistol was ready. The charge was $100 bucks and I felt that was reasonable. A few days later I took it to the range and fired it. It ran flawlessly. I put about 50 rounds thru it, with no problem.
