Went for lunch today with our girls and we ended up at matchbox. The restaurant is big, open, and clean. The server we had was wonderful and I wish I could have remembered his name. They seemed to be short staffed but he was making the best of it. I had the grilled chicken avocado sandwich and o thought it was delicious and juicy. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich with Nashville hot sauce and he also loved it. The kids had the sliders and that was good. They brought fried onion strings that were delicious. The Sawgrass location is absolutely horrible. A reservation was made that wasn't honored. Then we decided to sit at the bar which ended up being an even bigger mistake due to 20 minutes without acknowledgment. Finally once acknowledged the waitress came off curt. Nice venue, friendly service. We had the crab soup, tasty but cold. Definitely was not heated enough. It's a shame because the flavor was definitely good. We both Ordered the bistro burger. The burgers were overcooked and the fries were undercooked. I ordered the burger medium rare. Burger was too well done and dry. I only ate 1/2. I wanted the fries well done and they were not. The music was real nice and the manager Tracy treated us like straight up royalty and was so professional and understanding after we had a mix up with our reservation. Our server Melissa was amazing. Brunch is basically a buffet... the food is always cold.... The strawberry lemon drop is definitely off brand water and juice combo ... the expresso martini was water milk and three coffee beans . And at one point my drink came out with a cucumber in it that looked like someone bit it and it fell in my drink disgusting not to mention my cup was dirty. First time dining out since restaurants shut down due to covid. Elected an outdoor table for more airflow. Seating was limited to every other table for distancing however still a little too close in my opinion. Staff was nice, everyone wore a mask and there were social distancing stickers on the floor near the entrance to help guide customers. My party ordered a chicken pesto pizza and cheeseburgers. Drinks were limited to only a couple options. The chicken pesto pizza was very tasty and flavorful; I was pleasantly surprised. The burgers however, were slightly undercooked. I asked for medium however it was cooked more to medium rare. The burger buns were drenched in oil and made it very difficult to eat. The fries were ok; no seasoning, definitely required some salt for tasting. Overall, subpar food-decent restaurant for a happy hour snack. If you are looking for a place with more memorable tasting food I suggest you go elsewhere. I will not be returning. read more

My family and I decided to eat dinner here after seeing it a few times in the past while shopping at the mall. This place shocks you when you first walk in because it's extremely spacious in the inside. The interesting thing about the restaurant's setup is that the back kitchen area is observable from the dining area. It's pretty cool seeing the kitchen staff do their magic. When we arrived we were greeted and immediately seated at a table. Our waitress was great the entire night and she was extremely friendly. The dinner started off with an order of fried Calamari as an appetizer. Usually, when I order Calamari at other resturants I'm always a little disappointed but this time it was definitely a hit! My mom and I ended up ordering the crispy half chicken meal, my sister got the crispy hicken sandwich and my father the 12 oz steak. I wasn't exactly impressed with my meal and neither was my mom. We both agreed the chicken may have been a bit dry. However, despite that it still was very flavorful. The size of the chicken though made it worth the price. We finished off with an order from the dessert menu: the classic. It consists of two chocolate brownies, vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle. Immediately devoured and totally worth it. Overall, it was nice to try a new place for dinner. However, I feel as though some things may be a bit mispriced. My husband and I came here this weekend. Matchbox is probably the only restaurant in Sawgrass that we haven't yet been to. Matchbox is right next to Seasons 52, pretty impossible to miss at night, brightly lit in front of the Colonnade outlets. We definitely enjoyed the food here, I had the half chicken with potatoes and my husband had the ribs. I was hoping that the chicken was rotisserie as some of the Yelp photos shown but it wasn't. Apparently there are a ton of items that are no longer on the menu, which was disappointing. They no longer serve mashed potatoes, rotisserie half chicken, and many of the other items that they use to have. The service wasn't that great. Although our waitress was very nice, the service was extremely slow even for a Saturday night. We loved the restaurant atmosphere here, we both agreed that Matchbox reminded us a whole lot of Max Brenner, Nyc (one of our favorite restaurants) with two floors and the industrial design. The second floor here was unfortunately closed off so we weren't able to check out upstairs. Ultimately, we both liked the food and the design of the restaurant but we do wish that the menu was a bit more expansive, having more options to choose from. I went back to Matchbox Pizza today and was very impressed. The margherita pizza was delicious. I love the sauce so much. It came out hot, which I requested of our server. This makes a huge difference. Service was great and I even ordered a Cosmo which was made just right. It was very well balanced. I do not usually order alcohol, but have been craving a Cosmo so decided to indulge. I had a couple of the mini burgers and they were very tasty. We ordered the six pack. They are truly mini. They are fun to munch on while chatting away. Great appetizer. My friend ordered the half chicken and she really liked it with asparagus. I did not try it, but it looked like it would be delicious. It smelled great and I might order it next time I come. I would recommend making sure they bring your pizza hot because it really does make a big difference in the taste...for me at least. read more

As an individual that hosts brunches at any given restaurant i was extremely disappointed at the service that matchbox has to offer at their sunrise location. back story, my co-workers and i have brunch once a month at any given restaurant between Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. We knew the only day we would be available is the Saturday before Mother's day. We arrived at our scheduled time and were seated 20 minutes later. Our waitress Amal, we think that was her name was so soft spoken we asked her several times to speak up. Of which she did not. It was extremely frustrating as i have never been to Matchbox for brunch...For the fee of 42/pp it was nice to have all those options. We have been to places with brunch at 100/pp with no where near the options/selections that matchbox offered. would love how does a place so well know confuse people with their options. You can have this but not that. Wait What? you can order this but you have to go and get it from over there...huh? When we first sat down we informed her that we will each take care of our bill. We knew what we ate/drank and when it was time to leave; we spent another 20 minutes waiting for Amal to split the check four ways. The fact that we ere 4 at a table and could only order three items was beyond ridiculous. When asked for a final personal receipt we were disgusted that we sat waiting for another 20-2 minutes and still our receipts never arrived. When I reviewed my cc statement it went from 71.02 + 10.00 tip to almost 100.00. called to matchbox to inquire what is going on and no one will pick up. We asked other waitresses for assistance and they gladly assisted and returned quickly although they had their own tables. As stated prior I host brunches each month. 3 to 4 times a month. This is a restaurant we will not be attending again...the service is awful. Please retrain this staff member on the proper ways of your business so that mistakes like this do not happen again. What lured us in was the Smokey smell emanating the entire outdoor shopping area, to the point where it was impossible not to go in, despite my own plan of taking advantage of being in sunrise and having some ikea meatballs. Needless to say, smell beats memory, and ikea meatballs did not happen. On a Monday around noon they were not busy (to my joy) and it was a very peaceful lunch in a booth on their outdoor patio. It is spacious and airy, both indoors and outdoors at this restaurant, and as a designer, I was very impressed with the ambiance, as my guest lamented the lack of places in palm beach county that are similar to matchbox. I actually found that interesting since she lives in boca and boca has everything. Also what's cool to note is while there are fans and probably stays nice and cool on warm days, there are also heaters mounted overhead, which likely keeps it comfortable out there on cooler evenings too. Super upscale aesthetic. The pizza and wings we ordered were delicious, but very small. The jumbo wings, are regular sized wings, and in my opinion, run on the smaller side where wings are concerned. The flavors were tasty, but as far as value goes, it's pricey. I also had a frozen pina colada, small size, which came in a pint glass and was $9. I was happy with it. Especially for it being my first real drink post pregnancy, yay! The person I was with, loved everything about this place and she's a picky boca transplant from nyc. I enjoyed it, but the lowbrow side of me enjoy somewhere with drink specials, that encourage the consumption of more than one beverage. But it's worth trying out if you're okay spending at least a hundred bucks for two people. read more

I had some guests in from out of town and we decided to check out Matchbox at Sawgrass for brunch. The restaurant is very spacious, comfortable and plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. The host staff and server staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. Our server was amazing and kept our bottomless mimosas flowing. She took our orders and brought out our meals when they were ready. Some of the meals took an extremely long period of time to come out but she kept checking for us and even had the manager come out to speak with us but when the food finally came it was pretty good. I'm certain the delay wasn't a regular service issue and I'll be back another weekend to give it another go. Something to keep in mind when visiting is that parking can be a huge pain so try to arrive earlier. You may luck out and get a spot close by the restaurant. read more

Shop til you drop! Literally. After a long afternoon of shopping with my family, we tried Matchbox for a first time. As I frequent Sawgrass Mills often, I wish I came to try this restaurant sooner! The service, the food, and the location are great. I had smoke and fire pizza which was spicy like some of the reviews mentioned on Yelp. But it was not unbearable and very flavorful. My sister had the french toast and I took a bite of her plate and it was really tasty. This is definitely a place to check out if you are at the mall of if you arent! I will be back again. Holy Cow, can't believe I didn't write a review for here. Perhaps I was struck with a delicious food coma and just blacked out?!? So, winner winner Sawgrass dinner. Ya'll we have never been here before and we decided to pop in based on reviews - and per usual Yelp peeps did not disappoint. We were greeted and seated right away. We were in a booth towards the middle area of the restaurant. The seating options are totally varied, booths, high-tops, tables, outdoor patio, indoor bar. I mean...you want a type of seating arrangement, they got it. We ordered the sliders with onion rings, and it was magical. I mean just look at that picture! There's more onion rings than sliders! Win. They were crispy and delicious, as were the sliders. The wine selection was great, definitely try the sauvignon blanc if you like that kinda thing. Also, get the chocolate dessert. I cannot remember the name, but it's chocolate cake with ice cream, shouldn't be too hard to spot! I love sitting outside! Especially when the weather is really nice. We went in Sunday and they do have a Dj that plays music. If you do sit outside you can bring your dogs from what I've seen. We had the Mini Burgers with the onions on top and we were full with that. The apple and pear salad was very refreshing and it was my first time having it. I always recommend making a reservation due to it being Sunday and everyone likes to brunch. read more
