I got hit by two deer (in the span of 5 seconds), and my headlight assembly got broken just enough for my car to fail the VA safety inspection. Matchless was able to inspect and fix my car the day I called, which was AWESOME. They sewed my assembly together with wire, so I did not have to pay for an entire new assembly for which I was sooo grateful. Altogether, the whole fix took them less than 30 minutes. Very impressed with Matchless Body works. A driver hit my bummer while my car was parked. Everything was finalized with the drivers insurance to pay for the damages. I was given a long list of auto body places to select from nearby my area. I was a bit overwhelmed on picking the right one . I narrowed it to 2 locations based off of google reviews. Matchless is privately owned and even with my insurance being covered for damages, I still wanted to select an honest body shop that doesn't over-charge for labor. Fast with repairs, with attention to detail. They were so quick! I arrived on a Monday at 10am and my car was finished the next day at 4:30pm. The customer service with this group was poor. I scheduled my car - two weeks prior - to be repaired for the week when I was to be gone on vacation. On Wednesday afternoon of the week I was gone, I got a voicemail telling me that Matchless could not do the repair because the estimate was 4 years old. This was the second time Matchless did not reference the correct estimate for this repair (the estimate they were referencing was for a repair on my wife's car). I had forwarded the current estimate in my email scheduling the repair so there was no reason to miss the estimate this time. I did not respond to Mathless before I got back in town (I was off the grid by design) so the repair did not get done during the week I was gone. While I was frustrated with this, a simple apology right off the bat would have gone a long way. However, their initial response was that they called me and I did not respond. Matchless did not initially admit fault with having an inaccurate estimate, which, of course, was the reason for the call. When I asked to get the car back for a couple of days in the middle of the week so my wife and I could both have cars to commute on Tuesday and Wednesday, the person I spoke with told me that I'd have to get back in line and that it may be 2 weeks or longer. This was upsetting for 2 reasons: 1. I specifically set up the appointment for my vacation so that we wouldn't have to juggle cars and 2. they did not acknowledge the inconvenience for us and their culpability in this inconvenience. After more discussion, Matchless agreed to let me take the car for a few days and bring it back on Friday. I explained that I would be coming after hours. When I came back later that night to pick up the car, the car was not available. Therefore, we had to get Ubers for two days. When I tallked to Matchless the next day, the person I spoke to was apologetic, which I definitely appreciated. Unfortunately, it wasn't an oversight where I could pick up the car later in the day. Matchless had started the repair and the car wouldn't be available until Thursday COB. There was never an acknowledgement of the additional cost we had to incur because of their mistakes. The body work was done well. However, the total was higher than the estimate (because of an additional repair that was a legitimate cost) and we had to pay $100 in Ubers because we didn't have the car for the week. read more

Old friend slapped a magnet on the back of my car three years ago, and I thought it was funny. One year into the non-consensual magnetization I tried taking it off only to find out it was bonded to my vehicle. Finally got around to seeing what it would take to remove that sucker, and I was turned away by four separate businesses before being referred to Matchless. Excellent Auto Repair This is my third service experience with Matchless Body Works. They performed some light body work and paint on my 1982 classic German auto twice over the years and each time the finished paint work was excellent color match. Matchless just repaired our 2011 Subaru that had a smashed windscreen from road debris and glass shards completely spread over the interior. Their work was again well done with the car interior completely free of glass, new windscreen installed, and paint touch up was perfect. Keep in mind the shop is extremely busy so the customer must check-in on vehicle repair status. That is an easy trade for their high quality work. Poorly run, STAY AWAY!! It took 9 weeks to fix a simple fender after mishandling the parts order multiple times. I wasted multiple days (and time off work) driving there to be told they forgot the part wasn't delivered. As a final insult, the cost was over estimate and they didn't even offer a discount after 2 months of delayed work. They clearly don't have their act together and I'm surprised they're still in business. Bringing your car to an auto repair shop or body shop is usually one of the most painful/stressful experiences. Fortunately, every once in a while you find an honest, quality, reliable, and passionate shop. Matchless Body Works is one of these places. For most people, you don't know if the shop is lying to make more money ...and in a lot of cases, they are. Luckily for me, I'm not only a very knowledgeable car enthusiast but an engine calibration engineer as well. If a mechanic tries to pull a fast one on me, they're going to get more than they bargained for. Matchless was completely honest, knew what they were talking about, and didn't talk down to their customers as a lot of shops do. I couldn't be happier! I have a 2012 Nissan 370Z that I do a lot of performance work on. I normally do all the work myself except for the one time I hit a curb straight on! DOH! The damage didn't look too bad from the outside but after inspecting the underside and engine bay, I knew a lot needed to be done. I scoured the Internet and decided on Matchless. They worked with me from start to finish and even went out of their way to install a couple performance parts for me while the body panels were pulled off. I don't want to bore anyone with a long, boring story with all the details of getting my car repaired so I'll stop here. Horrible experience: 1)raised quote after car dropped off; 2) said that it would be ready in a week and it was 16 days; 3) when picking up car final bill was $200.00 more than 2nd quote; knowing from one call that there were calibration issues, I asked if everything ok, i.e.. that I would not have to reset systems. Response was" Yes" yet when I got in car infotainment screen totally black. No fix (not going to use names here); that mgr would call Honda dealer to come to shop. Already at "no confidence" I went straight away to dealer myself. $179.99 diagnosis was burned out fuse. Went back to MBW with invoice who concluded after telcon that I was incorrect in assuming burned out fuse was their fault. Oh, and if dealer came to shop I would have had to leave car for five days -- all this, I might add, for one lower door dent. Rue the day for not just living with it. Love this place! I have a Jaguar XF. During the massive snow storm I drove along side of a large pile of snow. That made the driver's side bumper come unhooked. I took my car to the auto body shop recommended by Jaguar. Well that guy estimated $300 - 700. He said he couldn't be sure. Of course, that seemed like a lot of money. So, I went to Matchless. After driving a brand new car off the lot earlier this year, I was involved in the unfortunate event of being hit by another car while driving. After dealing with insurance agents for a few hours, they told me to bring my car to any shop I chose and they would cover the costs. I shopped around and was not impressed by the shop associated with my dealer. I vaguely recalled my parents using this shop called "Matchless" about a decade ago and I'm glad I was able to find them again - these guys have been around for years and know what they are doing. I thought I had everything prepared so when I dropped off my car I was disappointed to discover that the rental car arranged to pick me up was nowhere to be found. The owner of the shop, Fran, was very attentive to the situation and went above and beyond in offering to drive me to the rental car place about 15 minutes away. I picked up my car 3 days later and it looked as good as when I first drove it off the dealership lot months ago. Highly recommend this place. read more

They were able to do a job for $2400 in 2.5 days that the other insurance affiliated body shop bid out at 5 days, $3300! It's has everything to do with the level of customer care and service they give their customers!!!! Furthermore, their craftsmanship is second to none!!! I've had them do bodywork for me and was extremely pleased with the work and the price was very competitive. And just recently I called the shop and asked if they could install a custom tonneau cover on my Raptor. Honest and High Integrity. I took my car to Tyson's Collision Center after scraping it on my garage door and they quoted $7,000 to fix my damage. I only went there because my dealer recommended them. We had always gone to Matchless before and they always did an excellent job. Since the Tyson's Collision quote was so ridiculous, I brought my car to Matchless for a second estimate. The Estimator said he could just buff it out. He did it in 15 minutes. Except for two small 1/8 inch scratches, it is good as new. It pays to know an auto body shop with integrity AND good work!! Matchless Body Works did an excellent job fixing my 2003 Honda Civic. I got excellent customer service and the car looks beautiful. I needed the bumper and a headlight assembly replaced and my hood was dented and a little out of alignment. I was only able to replace the headlight and bumper this visit, and I was going to get the hood and hood hinges replaced another time, but they were able to get the dent out and pull on the hood to re-center it while they had it in to fix the bumper and light, so I may not have to replace the hood at all which will save me hundreds of dollars. They also found that some plastic bits in the grill were broken, and since it wasn't part of the original estimate, they replaced the grill free of charge. Jay was very helpful through the whole process and he even came in on Saturday when they are not normally open so I could pick up my car, since I wasn't able to get it Friday morning due to my work schedule. When I got the car back, it had been washed and vacuumed and they even had the car running to keep it warm since it was cold outside. Overall, the repairs look perfect, I saved a lot of money, and I received excellent customer service. This place is great! read more

I've had two recent car repairs with Matchless. The first was a Ford Edge with front and rear fender scrapes from parking garage concrete pillars. Since I was paying for these out of pocket, I checked multiple repair shops and their quote was the least expensive. They were great to deal with. It took a few days for the repairs and painting, and they volunteered important information - don't wash or wax the car for a month while the paint cures. The results were amazing. The second car had a scrape on the rear hatch and on the rear fender. They handled the repair quickly and it looked brand new when they were done. I went in to Matchless for an estimate after reading the great reviews. I had scratches and a big ding on my car, nothing big. The gentleman came to look at the car and give me an estimate. I was expecting to be ripped off, especially being a younger woman. To my surprise, he buffed out the minor scratches & popped out the ding free of charge. While the job was not completely perfectly fixed, I was so satisfied with the customer service. I will for SURE be coming back for future body shop repairs. These folks really saved me. Two weeks before I'm due to give birth. someone hits my car (2005 Toyota Camry) and totals it. Of course, their insurance company is only willing to pay a certain amount to fix it. In shopping around for places, I had folks do a lot of bait and switch, where they would give me one price and then tell me another once they took the car apart, or quote something completely outrageous that was thousands more than it should be, etc. Finally, a friend recommended these folks and not only were they incredibly easy to deal with, but they charged less than everyone else, took less than a week to do all the repairs, and the car looks better than it did before the accident! Every experience with other shops approved by my insurance company have been, not just bad, but horrible. So, I go to Matchless instead.
