Christian and his team are fantastic! I was looking for a new gardener because my last gardener stopped returning after the COVID shelter in place was lifted and no longer returns calls or texts. They were really in tune with how I like to maintain my yard, provided some good input and also quoted me for new redwood bark (my last stuff was tired...). Mateo Gardening just absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I had been reaching out to multiple gardening/landscaping services in Morgan Hill area and almost all the places I contacted never replied, never called back, never showed up. It was disappointing. I had a big tree removed from my front yard that was done poorly from an arborist (Not Mateo) and needed more work to be done. I found Mateos gardening service and within 30 min he called scheduling an appointment. On the day of appointment, he showed up on time and came well prepared. He did a thorough walk through around my property, took measurements, and answered all my questions. I hired him on the spot and he started the job immediately. Him and his team worked from sunrise to sunset and constantly were working around the clock. Talk about a hardworking group!! I was extremely impressed. Each day he worked, he did a walkthrough with me letting me know the work that was performed and recommendations. In addition, at end of day, they never left a mess and would let me know the work that would be done for the following day. Each day I was so happy with the progress. Mateo and his crew have cleaned out my yard downstairs, installed a new sprinkler system, resodded and reseeded the lawn and put in red chips around my trees, juniper bushes. The sprinkler system was quite challenging as broken pipes had to be dug up due to the natural soil slippage in Jackson Oaks. I have new lawn again and it looks so much better. I am on a very reasonable bi-monthly maintenance plan for such a large piece of property. We still have a lot of work left to get this up to snuff, but I look forward to seeing progress over the next year. I like his crew, too. They call me "nice lady". :) read more

Endless junk, trash everywhere, weeds that had taken over, and trimming off all the trees and shrubs where in desperate need. Mateo'came out said no problem give me the job and I assure you will be happy. He has a team of 4-6 guys come out for 5 days. He went above and beyond my every expectation. His attention to detail is awesome. He also set up my trees & plants on automatic watering systems. A couple weeks later he came back for an old deck removal I needed done. If I could give Mateos ZERO stars I would. I spoke to Mateo 6 weeks before my open house to get some landscaping done before our open house. He came out to see what we needed done when he said he would but during that appointment he said he had to send someone else out to give me quote on the mulch. The job was very small pull weeds, laying a lot of mulch and trimming my Japanese Maple tree. We waited and waited but no one ever showed up. I called Mateo and he pretended to be someone else, then when i reminded him about the job he said oh yes someone will be there before 8pm. Well someone did show up finally but he didn't give me a quote, he had to look at the are and said he would leave me samples on my doorstep and to call him with my selection. He NEVER came back and left any samples, he never called..the night before the work was suppose to be done I called a dozen times and sent test messages. He finally picked up the phone late that afternoon and said someone was coming. Someone came at almost 9pm the night before the job with no samples. My husband sent them away and we found someone else. My guess is these guys only want big jobs so if you have a small project I would steer clear especially if you have time sensitive project as I did.
