    a backyard with artificial grass

Osbaldo and his team outdid themselves again!! We had are front done years ago and just did the backyard! We are beyond happy with his work! Finished in days. If your looking for top of the line work this is your

Lovely grass to sit on, almost like carpet outside. !!!

Osbaldo and his team was referred by a dear friend and a neighbor and they know how to pick a winner ! They were meticulously in planning and executing the job. It actually took less time than they had allotted so they were not rushing. Our yard was clean and organized during and after their work. Love the artificial grass a lot more than i thought i would. we actually now have a yard we can use and enjoy. They have another very happy customer in Palo Alto Hills.

Quality work, professional and very reasonable prices....this is the business to use for your artificial turf landscaping needs. To be honest, I never thought of getting artificial "fake" grass but with the drought situation and water being something to be used very wisely, it was a no brainer for us to switch over. Osbaldo did amazing work and completed the project in exactly the time frame he promised. He kept up informed with the progress every step of the way and I cannot think of anything to complain about. The artificial grass looks and feels very realistic. We have no regrets making the switch over.

A few years ago right after the yard was cleared. Sadly I didn't take more recent pictures of the yard before the work started.

Osbaldo and his crew did an absolutely amazing job of transforming my backyard from a barren and weed infested eye sore to a wonderful paradise that I am excited to use and share. Over the past 7 years my back yard has gone through many phases. When I first moved in to the house the grass, even though it was crab grass, was relatively healthy and there was a border of small shrubs and a few trees along the back fence. I didn't do much to maintain it since my wife and I didn't spend much time in the back yard. We just left everything alone and did only a little bit of maintenance here and there. Over time the yard started to look a bit shabby since I wasn't actively taking care of anything - weeds began to grow all over the grass and the shrubs and trees were becoming a bit of a mess. But I still didn't have any real incentive to take care of it since we didn't have a need to. Then a few years later a section of the fence along the back of the yard collapsed after an intense storm. As I was considering getting the fence replaced I realized it might finally be time to work on the yard. So I hired someone to come and clear the entire yard of the grass and plants. You can see how the yard looked after it was cleared in the first pictures posted below. I was excited to have a clean slate to work with but I didn't act fast enough and over the course the next few weeks the crab grass returned and the yard became infested with weeds again. Sadly I let all of the hard work from the yard clearing go to waste. Fast forward to the beginning of this past summer. After months, even years, of trying to get the weeds under control I finally decided that drastic measures needed to be taken if I wanted the back yard to be a usable space for our family. I began contacting different landscaping companies on Yelp and quickly realized it might not be feasible to contract out the work since the yard is quite big and the cost per square foot to have any kind of landscaping done might be more than we could comfortably afford. I wanted to put in artificial grass but after getting a few quotes I was nearly at the point of giving up because most of the options that were presented to us were nearly double what I was hoping to invest. Thankfully Osbaldo came through and saved the day. Right from the moment we first met Osbaldo was wiling to work with me and wanted to see if we could find a solution that fit my budget. This was in stark contrast to the other companies who weren't very flexible and didn't seem like they wanted a project with a budget as small as mine. We were able to come to an agreement on a project within minutes. Osbaldo was even able to give me a quote that was below what I was hoping to spend. A few weeks later and day one of the project arrived. I didn't get to meet Osbaldo's team because they completed the project while I was at work. Within the first day they had completely finished all of the prep work seen the pictures below. I was completely shocked because I thought it might take more than a day to clear the yard of the weeds, old sprinkler system, tree roots, rocks, and other leftover debris. To say I was excited after seeing the beginning of the transformation would be an understatement. I couldn't believe my eyes and was amazed by how much work they had completed within a day. And by the end of the second day I had a completely new and beautiful back yard. The pictures speak for themselves. So amazing! Words can't express how thankful I am to Osbaldo and his team for taking what was a barren and useless space and turning it in to a space that my family will be able to enjoy for years to come. I highly recommend 4 Seasons Greens to anyone who is considering a project like mine.

    Turf installed by Osbaldo's team!

We shopped around A LOT, and so happy we went with Osbaldo. Their price is very good, and the workmanship is great! They installed our backyard turf about a month ago, and it looks fabulous. One of the things we like about the way they install, is they use the S method of putting the pieces together. You can't see the lines that way.

    Backyard by 4 Seasons Greens

After watching two newly installed grass lawns last summer get systematically destroyed by the wet winter and our dogs cavorting and rampaging over the sod, the lawns began to take on the look of a lunar surface We made the decision to replace the grass lawns with a turf solution and contacted a few companies to bid on our project. We first met with Robert from PolyGrass; he was extremely professional, knowledgeable and educated us on the product, the different grades, the installation process and the materials involved. We were so impressed we almost stopped our search and considered his quote to be benchmark going forward. The next company was 4 Seasons Greens, Osbaldo came out ahead of schedule and called me that he was at my residence before I was home, I asked him to enter into my back yard and have a look. When I arrived Osbaldo was waiting for me with samples of different grades of turf and had already calculated the square footage. I was impressed with the quality of the samples and laid them on my front lawn to compare real grass to turf, it was amazingly close in color and texture, he repeated the demolition and installation process and materials used just as PolyGrass's Rep did, this was comforting to us as there seamed to be an industry standard to adhere to amongst Turf contractors. Just as PolyGrass offered Osbaldo said leaving our sprinkler system intact was an option as this would aid in cooling the turf and helping to keep it clean, as the dogs will have a new bathroom now. We decided to go with 4 Seasons Greens and couldn't be happier with the outcome, everything you read about Osbaldo and his crew is true, in our experience they were polite, hardworking and fast, after each day my yard was cleaned at days end, AND they even moved some temporary fencing to keep my dogs out of my garden at my request without question or need of and change order to cover the time. My project was completed in two days and finally my beautiful backyard in complete again, after landscaping and paver work was performed last summer. I would not hesitate to use 4 Seasons Greens in the future and cannot recommend them enough. PS My Dogs enjoy the turf and have not destroyed it in anyway; they love sunning themselves on the turf and running around over it without issue

My husband and I desperately needed to transform our lawn area from a patchy, dried up, dusty dirt pile to something kids can run on and play lawn games on. I called and emailed about 10 places that were highly rated on Yelp. Long story short, Osbaldo blew the competition out of the water. His price was the absolute lowest at $9/ SF. When he came in person 2 days later, he made precise measurements and came up with a number that was way lower than 2 of his competitors did previously. Which was based on what my husband had quickly measured. The competitor just rounded up so they would have extra just in case. Giving us a quote that was $2k more! Also the competitor sent a sales girl, not their main guy who was able to actually answer my questions in detail. We set a date for 6 weeks away, since his schedule was packed. I asked him for first available and he was able to move it up 3 weeks. He communicated through text, which made it easier for me to talk to him at work. Osbaldo and his crew showed up at 8am the first day and started excavating the 4 inches (probably more because we had layers of dirt and lawn from so much backyard work) with shovels and wheel barrows. They finished excavation by end of day one, and moved in part of the gravel. On day 2, they finished the gravel and "base fines", and smoothed it out. It looked like cement? Everyday after they were done, everything was cleaned up and swept up. They left their tools for the 2 nights they were there. The final partial day was on a Saturday so we were home to see the progress. The crew of 3 pulled 2 giant rolls of turf in and got to work quickly stretching the turf like carpet, and nailing it in. They were like a well oiled machine. Osbaldo did much of the detail work himself and the others nailed in the edges. The seam work was this intricate jagged see saw pattern so you can find the seem and everything was nailed into place with huge 4" nails. Needless to say, we are very happy with 4 Seasons Green and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone considering a drought friendly, low maintenance lawn area! See pics for all the progress!

I can confidently recommend Osbaldo and his crew. He came and turned my eyesore front yard to an admirable sight. He and his team are polite, professional, hardworking and fast. To top it off, they clean up once they finish the project. I am definitely one satisfied customer. Keep it up!

I have been wanting to get turf for YEARS in our yard. With the ongoing drought it just pushed me to seriously look into it instead of new grass. At first, my husband and I considered doing it ourselves. We watched tons of YouTube videos and went to a few places to price out the turf we liked. After talking to some nice folks at various stores, we decided that it would take us months to do the job ourselves on the weekend, and if we messed it up, we would also ruin the turf we bought. Osbaldo was highly recommended to us from a few of the turf shops we went to, which impressed me. I gave Osbaldo a call, not expecting to hear back from him for a while, but he called me back soon after and he sounded like such a nice gentleman. He come over, gave us a quote which was very reasonable, and I liked him in person just as much as over the phone. He is very responsive via, phone, email or text, which I like since I am all about texting. He and his team are punctual, respectful, and always clean up after their day's work is done. As I watched them work on the yard, I was so glad that I choose them for the job, it is not easy to do, especially since we had some trees and rocks to remove, but they did it quickly and efficiently. The turf has completely changed the look of our yard and now, when I hear our neighbors mowing their yards as my son and I hang out on our turf, I just laugh because my lawn is virtually no maintenance now and will stay green : ) Thank you so much Four Season & Osbaldo!

4 seasons is phenomenal. Don't live in the San Jose area but reached out to Osbaldo based solely on his Yelp reviews. He came out the next day for an estimate and started the next week! He is a great business man, very professional and knowledgeable. They were done in three days and we couldn't be happier. We've had the turf for about two months now and we have no regrets! Only downside is the turf can get hot in the mid day sun. But a quick hose down cools it off. My brother had his backyard done by Osbaldo as well. We love our new low maintenance yard.

Osbaldo and his team came in and did an amazing job in my lawn. The leveled my area & installed my lawn within 1 day. Very profession and quick service. I am so pleased with the grass and my daycare children absolutely love playing in the front yard now. Thank you Osbaldo! I highly recommend this company you will be satisfied.

I got a couple of quotes through Yelp, but ultimately decided to go with Kay Green -- and I'm so glad I did. It took Young and his crew about a day and a half to complete the project. You never tell someone that's paying you $500 dollars to take your time and do a professional job to go inside. I should have told him to get the F off of my property and hired someone else. I would have been better off hiring men from Home Depot. Totally unprofessional, rushed the job, ruined a couple of plants and didn't give a shit how it looked, even after I showed the owner the damaged plants and all the broken branches only to find more as the branches dried out in the weeks to come. He tells me the plants are delicate, but yet they didn't treat them that way. I will never hire this unprofessional company again and recommend that you don't hire them either. They have plenty of help to do a good job, but refuse to do so. This was a total rip off job to the tune of $500. I'm so sorry I hired this clown to do this job, every time I look at what they did it makes me sick and pissed that I didn't throw them off my property and paid them nothing. I've waited weeks to write this review, in hopes that the job would look better, but it doesn't. Thanks a lot, KAY GREEN LANDSCAPING FOR DOING A SHITTY JOB AND TELLING ME TO GO INSIDE. Huge thanks to Matt, Danny and the team.

Another very happy customer of South Bay Design and Landscaping…read more We had South Bay out to do a full demolition of the existing "landscaping" from when we bought our house and the installation of an entirely new plan from our landscape designer (check out Dawn Engel- she's great!), which included a patio space, a pergola, driveway extensions, hogwire fence, raised planter beds, and a side gate added to our existing fence. These guys do not mess around. Demolition went insanely quickly, and our property was kept neat and tidy the entire time. We never once saw dirt tracked anywhere by the crew, which we can't say the same for any of the other contractors we've worked with (and we're actually quite happy with some of them!), and which becomes even more insane to think about when you consider the nature of landscaping work. Installation went as smoothly as South Bay possibly could have made it. Any time we ran into the occasional hiccup, as happens with all nontrivial projects, Matt, Danny, and Marcus offered thoughtful suggestions and made sure to confirm exactly what we wanted before proceeding. (We had either or both of Matt and Danny on-site most days of our project, and interacted with Marcus via email.) We were delayed a smidge by some heavy rain, but the crew worked through all but the worst of it (talking "if you step in that mud, you're going to lose a boot" type of rain). Partway through the install, we discovered that the previous landscapers had managed to make the L-shaped pathway leading from our driveway to our front door square with nothing- which wasn't easily noticed until we had the planter beds in and hogwire fence line chalked out. (South Bay had laid those out properly square to the driveway and house, as per our plan.) Matt, Danny, and crew were thankfully able to accommodate our request to fix our pathway up by picking up each segment and pushing the out-of-square part over by 4-6 inches; this added about a week of extra time to our project, mostly due to the fact that not all of the pavers could be reused, and that the pavers had actually been discontinued (!). The guys worked around this by sourcing very similar pavers in a different size, and basically cutting and grinding them to match our existing pavers. Post-install, the only way you'd know there are two different pavers in our pathway is if you'd seen it being taken apart and rebuilt. Plants, irrigation, and lighting all went in straightforwardly after the hardscaping work was finished, and Danny gave us a complete walkthrough of all our new outdoor systems. It's been about a week since our project was completed; the plants are all thriving, and we're still ecstatic about our new yards (and so are our neighbors!). In short: we had a fantastic experience working with South Bay Design and Landscaping for our landscaping project. They take pride in doing a quality job, and it shows in everything from demolition to day-to-day jobsite management to the finished project. If you're looking for landscapers, these are your guys. (Special thanks to Matt and Danny for graciously handling my incessant "are you sure you didn't forget about such-and-such little detail?" questions and never once forgetting about any of the details, and also to Sergio for spending basically an entire Saturday morning troubleshooting what ultimately turned out to be a manufacturing issue with our pergola.)
