Do not go here the owner is belligerent, dishonest and they provide incompetent services. I wasted over over $30,000 in their incompetent carpet sales and installation services and they never even completed the job. They demanded the remaining small balance due on the account to be prepaid before they would complete the installation services. Even though they delivered and partially installed the carpeting more than 30 days late and refused to correct installation problems. When I informed them about the installation problems they got angry took the remaining of my new carpeting, stripped my old carpeting and left the project site with protruding rusty nails exposed on the project site. I informed them that they left the project site in a dangerous condition and to please correct this condition since they exposed my children and dog to these protruding nails. Not super impressed with the passive aggressive treatment. Sent in a runner. They do mention free pick up and delivery. The runner was dropped off after cleaning, with the ivory color turned pink. The rug is red, green, ivory and blue. I don't know if they thought I wouldn't notice? The cheek of that was bad enough. I wrote to them calmly. I got a stupid response how they would take it back and look at it at no charge and "try" to correct it! No kidding! You're not going to stand by your work?! NO CHARGE! How freaking generous to fix a mistake. I was well aware the carpet needed sewn on the side but since I recently moved, I could not afford repair at $285 plus the $216 I was charged for cleaning. They called me both times to tell me something I know. It needs fixed. When they fixed the issue with the bleed, I wrote to thank them. I said in a couple of weeks I will get it fixed. The response: "It will cost you $85 for pick up and delivery. The rudeness and the assumption I was born yesterday, has me peeved. A thank you indeed. read more

Above and beyond! My pipe burst after the polar vortex on a Saturday. I called multiple big name companies and only got answering services. They came out on super bowl Sunday to assess the damage and Monday my wet carpet was out! They even cut drywall and took off my baseboard and sprayed chemicals to deter mold! I have taken wool rugs to Mathew Klujian over the years. Their work has always been satisfactory. Recently I had a wool rug cleaned there. I took in in myself. As usual they expect cash up front, which is OK. They also allow a discount for a customer bringing it in, rather than their pickup and delivery. When the rug was finished they called. I was out of town and the rug was there over 30 days. They rescind the discount for items left over 30 days. The thing that totally upset me is that they didn't have the balls to tell me that when I picked up, but several days later they sent me a bill for the 30%. I was so incensed that I simply wrote them a check, with the comment on the check stub that this was a bullshit fee and that I would not do business with them again. Had they had the cojones to say something at the time I picked up, perhaps I would feel differently. I have 3 more large wool rugs that need to be cleaned and I am also a real estate agent who refers businesses for home-related things--like carpet cleaning. Their cheapness and lack of honest communication has cost them my future business as well as my referrals. Consider another firm. read more

I have been taking my rugs to Matthew Klujian and Sons for nearly 20 years. I have always had a dog and my rugs have really been put to the test. Regardless - they always look brand new when I get them back. They are not the cheapest by far, but you get what you pay for. They have kept my rugs looking great - like I said, some for 20 years. And these are not finely woven Persian rugs that were handmade to last 100+ years. These are mid level rugs (e.g., Company C, Saviiah). They have repaired one rug beautifully and backed several older rugs with rubber to further extend the life. Their pick up and delivery is effortless with reasonable call windows and consistently on time service. (Comcast should get a lesson from them!) I was really shocked because I was referred to them by a very good source. I had them come out to clean the carpeting after some water came in. The bedroom was the main problem, but I had them clean the main room as well. Everything looked fine until it dried. The carpeting in the main room had a very large spot where the color was bleached out. When I called them to come out, they claimed it was like that before they did the job, which is a complete lie. I asked them to replace the carpet in the main room and they would not help at all. This is the last place I would call for any carpet cleaning. I just had my large Persian rug cleaned for the 1st time that I've owned it. (20 years) My puppy who is now 12 peed all over it for years and they got the stink and stains out. It's like a new rug! Your feet sink in now as opposed to staying on top like a door mat. There had been so much dirt and sediment that had piled up over the years that just hardened it. WARNING: If you are in need of a carpet repair, this company will require you first pay them to clean the carpet before they will do any repairs! We have wall-to-wall carpeting in our master bedroom and there is a small hole (thanks to our puppy) near the doorway. It wouldn't be a huge deal, but it's very visisble and right where we walk in and out, so I figured it would be best to have it repaired before it got any worse. Just an FYI we had all our carpets cleaned last year by a different company. I called to ask about having it repaired and they said we would first have to pay to have it cleaned before they would do ANY repairs. I told them the carpet did not need to be cleaned and I was only interested in having a small hole repaired. The woman asked me "has the carpet ever been used?" I told her yes it is our current carpet in our master bedroom. And she said well then I would have to have it cleaned before they would do any repairs. Why would I be asking for a repair if the carpet has never been used?! No Thank You!!! Don't waste your time with this company! Since then I've contacted 2 other carpet companies and neither said a thing about needing to have it cleaned before a repair. read more

My wife praised this place for 20 plus years, her line of work brought these cleaners business beyond personal needs. We just had them clean 3 of our throw rugs which,by the way, came out great. Now the rest of the story. We also had two cleaners come to our home and clean a bedroom carpet. There was one spot/stain in particular from our dog my wife pointed out and acknowedged it might not come out. She was doubly concerned because she used an enzyme cleaner from a pet store on the spot and told the cleaners about it for fear their solutions might negatively react with the applied enzyme. The cleaners said the enzyme should not be a problem but the dog stain might be. After cleaning the carpet they placed paper down in case we needed to go in the room. They said to give it 24 hours to dry. We closed off the room. We were puzzled the carpet was still wet after 48 hours as we continued to keep the room closed. We finally pulled up the paper after 55 hours and were horrified to see large brown circle stains in numerous areas of the carpet, wayyy beyond where our dog had soiled. My wife took pictures of the disaster and emailed them to Klujian along with phone calls asking to speak with Mat Klujian. She got a bit of the run around from the receptionist. On one of the calls after the receptionist acknowledged the emailed pictures she said to my wife, "well you used an enzyme." My wife was not happy and informed the receptionist the cleaners were aware of the enzyme use (and it was only used in one small area). My wife again asked for Mat Klujian. Instead she heard back from the receptionist who stated that a couple of cleaners would come to the house to inspect it but it would cost us. My wife said absolutely not and again asked to speak with Mat Klujian. Again the receptionist called back and acquiesced to no inspection charge. Today, the original two cleaners came back to look at their handy work. This time I was home. They were argumentative and accusatory that some additional accident must have occurred since they cleaned it 2 weeks ago. I tried to redirect the conversation and explain to them that was not the case. They refused to discuss the matter and stuck to their fall back position that this disaster had to have occurred after they cleaned it. I was looking for wisdom and a solution not a handout. I was hoping for some acknowledgment of an unfortunate mishap not a stubborn denial w/zero accountability. I am not happy that we are being treated like we are trying to get one over on Klujian Carpet Cleaners and did not appreciate the snarky, unprofessional attitude the cleaners expressed at the inspection. This was not an inexpensive undertaking and now our carpet is ruined. My wife is apparently still waiting for a phone call from Mat Klujian. Mat, don't bother. You and your people had a chance to own it and work with us, but you didn't. read more

Brought my 8 by 12 foot Indian wool rug in for a cleaning. It was about 160 bucks to have it cleaned. They did a good job, washed the top and bottom well. They took about a week to have my rug back to me. I'll bring my rugs there in the future. read more

Did an excellent job cleaning my 3 very old and precious oriental rugs that were heavily soiled and neglected. Wasn't cheap though, with the stain protector I paid about 300 to get these 3 large (~8'X8') rugs cleaned. Nice family owned business that's been in the area since I was a little kid. BEWARE. I reached out to Klujian rugs by email about an estimate to install about 35 feet of stair runner I bought elsewhere. Elida was helpful and had me email photos of my stairs and then had the owner, Mat, call me. Mat estimated the installation would be between $450 and $500. When I said that I felt that the price seemed very high he explained that it was due to this project requiring custom sewing and installation. He said someone would come out and make templates of my stairs and then bring the runner back to their shop for very complicated sewing, then be back for the installation. I asked if removing the old runner was included and they emailed back to confirm it was. We decided to go for it. Salvador was the installer and was very personable and did a nice job, HOWEVER he installed the rug and pad in less than 3 hours, NO sewing at all, no templates, nothing special. When done Salvador called Mat for the final price. Mat said $500! When I reached out to Mat to complain that he charged me the maximum price for a custom sewing job the first thing he said was, "we removed your old rug for free." When I told him I had an email where he said it was included he said, "it wasn't included, but I said it was." Huh? I pushed that he charged me $500 for a simple installation he said I was "being difficult." I told him that I was shocked a brick and mortar establishment that had been in business for decades would be so short sighted about pleasing the customer, especially over such a small amount of money. When I told him I would leave an honest, negative Yelp review he said he would mail me a check for $50. Over a week later I contacted the store to say I had not received a check. They sent a curt message that the post office must have it and it's just delayed. Surprise--more than a month later, no check. I have emails of all of this correspondence and a voicemail with Mat promising me $50. Mat was belligerent on the phone and clearly had no interest in good business practices after he had my money. I called back a third time and was informed that my hold time was due to the woman being the only one there and having too many customers to deal with on her own. We used Mathew Klujian to clean our sofas more then 20 years ago, and they did a great job, that since we been using them to clean our Persian rugs as our dogs had few accident on them few times. Also we we build a new house few years back we bought stair rugs for two story house with a basement . The price was great and the job they did is unbeliever, that you can't even see the seam in the Persian rug. I just used their service again for tile rugs for our bus sines and again great job and very good price. I have had rugs cleaned by them for years. Staff very helpful and pleasant in loading and unloading rugs from the car. Cleaning good, but hooked rug has not been as 'puffy' the last two times. I will never use this merchant again. They only accept checks or cash. They could only deliver my carpet one day of the week with a 10 minute window. This was extremely inconvenient for my lifestyle. When I failed to be home due to an emergency they twice charged me $35.00 to bring my carpet back. I felt I was working with the mafia who was holding my carpet for ransom when I was paying over $600.00 to get it cleaned. The people who answered the phone were unaccommodating and repeatedly rude. I called them to clean a spot of pet urine off an 8x10 area rug after a different company (North Center) cleaned the rug twice and failed to remove the spot. Klujian got the spot completely out. They did an okay job cleaning my rug, but two issues really annoyed me: First, they wrote down my phone number incorrectly. I have no idea whether they ever tried to call me when it was ready, but they had my email address too, which they could have used. They had my rug for a month, and I had to call and then stop by to find out what was going on. Second: I requested an estimate for a minor repair. By the end of the MONTH they had my rug, they still had not bothered to put together an estimate for me. I took the rug home. If I decide to try for another estimate, it will be elsewhere. read more

If your rug can fit in your car and you can drop it off and pick it up you will also save a bit over having it picked up and delivered. Klujan did 3 couches and three chairs, my carpeted stairs and all my area rugs (a couple of months ago - just finally had time to write this!). Everything I had cleaned is mid center modern or made especially for the mid century modern furniture, and I wanted to make sure everything was done properly. Klujian did a terrific job.
