Golden Knots is the ONLY place to go if you care about your rugs. Mumtaz is wonderful to work with and is extremely knowledgeable about all types of carpets...silk, wool, etc., and can clean even the most difficult stains. One of my most prized possessions is a large pure silk on silk double hand knotted carpet, and it was badly stained by dog urine while I was pet sitting. I called Mumtaz that evening and he was here to pick it up the next morning. He just brought it back today and it looks absolutely PERFECT! I can't say enough about the service Golden Knots provides. I just got back my 3 oriental rugs from Golden Knots and they did a beautiful job. The rugs had not been professionally cleaned in over 10 years and were rather filthy, as they were a preferred resting place for both my 80 pound labrador retrievers. Additionally, one of the rugs had two small areas that one labrador retriever used as a teething ring. Golden Knots repaired those areas and the rug looks like new. Horrific.. Stay away. My carpets looked worse after he left. I just had a different company in who showed all the water spots. I wasn't sure what they were. The only way for me to fix my area rug is to remove it and have it taken to their shop to fix. Mega bucks but it's s very expensive rug so I have no choice. Customer service is terrible. The owner is impossible to deal with and accepts no responsibility. This company is a fraud I bet they rent the equipment from home depot and pretend they are professionals. read more

Great friendly service and my rugs look amazing ...free fast pick up and delivery

My beloved 15 year old dog recently past from bladder cancer. Needless to say, our rug (that has been passed down through generations) was heavily soiled and stank! Additionally, there was some damage to it due to the move puncturing some of the jute netting and one of the edges had come off. It's an 8-ft diameter rug and the owner was amazing! He gave me a general quote online (square foot cost), then called to follow up. I'm glad he did because my life is very busy and following up is difficult. After discussing my desires over the phone further, I got a hard quote on the price to have it cleaned and fixed. I'm very pleased with the results! Additionally, because I couldn't get to him within a few weeks as intended, he ended up driving out to me and picked mine up (with several other clients), and also dropped it off! It made my single-mom life so much easier to keep going and deal with the things I need to, rather than something I just wanted to like this! I would highly recommend them. read more

Owner returned my mid-morning VM within an hour (during the pre-holiday rush). On the phone, listened to my description of wants and needs and asked excellent open-ended questions. Came to pick up the carpets same afternoon, examined them carefully, asked questions about each problem area, and gave a written estimate and asked for 50% payment. Returned CLEAN carpets in 2 business days. Best cleaning, best service but reasonable price. Highly recommend. Will use again. read more

Do NOT go to Golden Knots. I was quoted a price range over the phone for repair/cleaning of a rug only to have the guy try to charge me $10 more when the rug was completed than the original quote. When he dropped the rug off (a feature I was excited about) there were weak spots in the rug that he never fixed. Muntaz (sp?) said that he guarantees his work for 5-10 years. I quickly realized after the rug was laid down in my kitchen that their were several areas that were still barely hanging together, clearly they had not been touched. He came back out to assess the rug and then said there was no way that he could go over the entire rug for the price that he originally quoted and that he was only responsible for the work he had done and that that rug was weak and that it shouldn't be in a high traffic area anyway. At one point he offered to give me my money back but then refused, he also offered for me to mark the areas that I thought needed repair which turned out to be large portions of this weak rug. He never once mentioned prior to doing the work that this rug wouldn't be worth fixing or that he didn't understand my desire to have a working rug. Who in their right mind would pay for a rug that it still broken and call that good business. In the end he did nothing to rectify the situation. I would never use nor recommend this company again. read more
