A good friend of ours lives in this middle class neighborhood and we go here for picnics or her kids' birthday parties. It's not a destination park, just a great little park for people in the area to enjoy. The terrain has many small hills and trees. There are a few flat areas that kids will use to play soccer. You'll find a couple basketball hoops, a basic playground, a couple picnic tables, charcoal grills, plenty of bench seating and a surprisingly clean but basic-city-park-style bathroom. There is plenty of space to have a bouncy-house or other entertainment for a children's party. One interesting thing is that there is often a cool breeze blowing through this park which can sometimes be quite strong. Our friend refers to it as being a wind tunnel. Nothing fancy but the kids will love it.

It's a few blocks away from the ocean. The grass is very green and nice for picnics. Dogs must be on leashes. I thought the mini picnic tables for kids was really cute. I got lots of recommendations from a Facebook group I'm in for this park. The bad: The bathrooms were blocked off so I used the portable potties by the parking lot. The potties were very full and smelled more than average. I was hoping for a park without sand because my daughter loves sand so much and always ends up only playing in sand and making a mess. The interesting: The cement slides are very fast so be cautious! The parking lot has a six hour limit.

I remember walking through this dirt field on the way to High School and back my poor white shoes would get so dusty with the dirt on it. Once they built the park it was nice green grass and the dirt trail to walk on around it. Then they added the kids playground. Along the dirt trail there are stops for workouts like doing push ups with the bar installed etc. Overall a nice place for picnics, soccer play for the wide open field and in the back corner a backstop for baseball which they did get rid of a few years ago.

The great thing about the surrounding neighborhood is that there are plenty of cars in the driveway, which means people are at home all of the time!

EXCELLENT little park!…read more we had Sofia's birthday picnic here. had to put down a $200 check deposit to secure 2 tables and a bbq pit. front and center location was where they put us. good shaded area for this warm and sunny day. the tables were slightly on the smaller side, well, for a family of filipinos and mexicans at least. the bbq was the traditional park type. off the ground and large metal grates. the area we reserved and the area around was immaculately clean. grass was trimmed nicely as well. the slopes that are typical with my little town were negligible where our spot was. further out on the fringes, you can notice them. the park has it's own private parking lot which makes it very convenient. there is a "kiddie" pool on site that was very popular on this sunny warm day. the deep end was 3ft and the low end was 2.5ft. awesome for the little ones. well, not mine since we werent' dressed for it. overall, we're looking forward to coming back to hang out here and have another picnic. maybe not as grand of a scale as a birthday party, but, a little bbq and some sun. also, we'd love to come back and have the kids check out the pool. we should get some use out of our $10 recreation card!

This summer we came the 2nd weekend and it was closed both Saturday and Sunday. When we called to ask why it was closed they said they didn't know. Today I called at 11:45 and they told me that the pool would be open at 12. When I got here we were told that they ran out of chlorine and were waiting for someone to bring some. Then at 1 we were told they would open at 1:30. Finally at 1:50 the pool opens and I'm told that my rec id had expired and I need to renew with 2 forms of id or pay. I said we've been waiting for almost 2 hours and we need to leave soon by the time I go home and get that it will be too late can you just let us in. The guy said uh no. Also if there is a birthday party the pool gets packed with kids and parents. Once the pool gets dirty they close the pool and tell you to come back next time usually within the last half hour. Also at the end of the season the lifeguards start to call out so if there are not enough lifeguards the pool can't open. Also they charged me $1 more than what is listed on the website. If you're coming from far away I wouldn't recommend. If you're local and have a rec ID it's worth taking a chance but expect to be disappointed

We packed the wagon with snacks and water, put on the sunblock and off we went as the 5 year old told me exactly where to go. This park is huge. Has plenty of grass and hills to roll down, a softball field to run on. Plenty of ladybugs to catch, bees to watch out for and dandelions galore. There is also plenty of swings, random play things, serious climbing equipment and long slides that I thought were outlawed. The monkey bars are suitable for kids even though they look gianormous and that slide? It's like a mini splash Mountain drop. They blocked off the adjoining mini structure to the date devil one so the little ones dont get access to something to big for them. However your little ones may just want to climb up to the top anyway. Just let them do it. You know you climbed higher than them when you were young. Bathrooms were clean. The park is well kept. I saw city employees doing their thing when we were there.

However, this park is made better by its large size and the adjacent library. It's scenic and has old trees and barbeque pits. There are some riff raff types in the park and I can imagine it wouldn't be a perfectly safe place at night. But it's near a major street and basically safe. It was a very dangerous and frustrating experience, and I plan to take a photo of the rider if this happens again. The park clearly has signs prohibiting biking on the pathways. Under Torrance's local ordinances, riding a Class 3 E-bike here is illegal and subject to fines. Even Class 1 or 2 E-bikes (and traditional bicycles) are only permitted on designated bike paths or roadways, making it illegal to ride them on sidewalks or within the park's walking areas.
