Believe the ratings for Matto Espresso. I can't pass by one of their locations without going inside and buying something to take home. The coffee is good and the prices can't be beat. This location is great but I reserved it for a beautiful sunny day when I am out early taking my walk. When I get here it's a nice time to take a break. Customer Service is always with a smile. I'm posting photos of some of my favorite selections. The offerings sometimes change. I'm recommending!

I was originally drawn in by the sign showing the banana date latte and I had every intent of trying that because I love banana and dates, but the barista told me it wasn't sweet so I ended up deciding against it since I'm not a big fan of espresso. I ultimately ordered a matcha and was amazed that it was less than $4. It was pretty good, too. There were also banana bread samples.

This place is super convenient and with their app, everything is 2 bux! Save with the app and it will be ready when you get there. They've often under filled my cup and I find the lattes could use an extra shot of espresso or something but I do enjoy the banana latte thing they make quite a bit. Service is Okay, nothing special. The food items are okay but never hot enough.

I'm glad I went here. I kept seeing the sun for the iced banana latte, beckoning me day after day. The latte was delicious. Customer service was lightning fast and precise. Their app is actually useful. I'll be back.

Two iced lattes and an iced espresso $2 each so $6.53 total including tax

Lattes for $2 and you had me sold. I could never find that at a Starbucks or DD. Go here if you want to invest in a proper espresso shot. They have any type of espresso drink, brewed coffee, a bariety of food, and moroccan mint tea (probably seasonal). I would recommend short pull as it's not bitter. The iced espresso melted fast so the bitterness increased at the same time. I'm excited to go back to try other drinks

I used to think that their was only one Matto in the city at West 40th street and boy was I wrong. Searching on Yelp turned up 13 more of them, and they are they selling franchises. Maybe with no money down or something because the way they are popping up. Their store has a logo sign that looks just like the zero Tarot card , the FOOL card and I guess that was what I was but I wised up now. Matto is Crazy in Italian I guess that's what the owner was told when he came up with the $2 for everything idea. They got your usual list of regular and espresso coffee. And have a decent number of muffins , cakes, cookies and other food items that are good for $2 and so is their coffee. And $2 doesn't mean you get cheap and tasteless it is pretty good for the price and it is all fresh.

A colorful sandwich board stands proudly outside Matto Espresso. It declares "Everything $2". I'm intrigued, so I follow a group of patrons into the very tiny shop. Low and behold, it's true! The pastry case is stocked full of fresh croissant, muffins and various cakes and cookies. I opt to try the Spinach Lasagna. I also treat myself to a Latte (because $2). My grand total? $4.36! Both items were quite satisfying, especially given the price. Elsewhere in Midtown I could have dropped $9 easily for this breakfast. Be forewarned, this coffee shop is cozy (small). While the staff is welcoming and all smiles, this is not the spot to work remotely on a laptop during the day (head across the street to Pennylane Coffee for that). Matto is ideal though for a quick bite and coffee to go. Delighted that I was in an adventurous mood this morning, very nice to meet you Matto!

    everything $2

I went back for the pistachio muffin later that night, right before they closed, like 3 minutes before closing and all the baked goods were gone. I asked the guy (same guy from 9 in the morning, guess he was working the whole day) if there were any more pistachio muffins left, luckily he said there was one left so I copped that. I also bought a raspberry herbal iced tea. I gave the pistachio muffin and raspberry drink to my parents and they really liked the pistachio muffin, i didn't get a chance to try it before it was gone. Luckily, I did get a chance to try the drink, it wasn't that good, not flavorful and it really tasted herbal, it wasn't my cup of tea, but it was just $2 so that was good.

I knew $2 lattes sounded too good to be true I got a vanilla iced latte with almond milk. I'm drinking it right now and it's just... bleh. Doesn't taste like there's a shot of espresso in it coffee part tastes like it's made of half espresso, half watered down iced coffee. Coffee also tastes a little bit.. stale? Idk if the worker pulled a fresh shot. Disappointed :(

Ordered 2 Iced Latte Egg and vegetarian sausage on a whole grain artisan roll.

Ordered 2 Iced Latte Egg and vegetarian sausage on a whole grain artisan roll. It was very good and fresh. Very good service. Seating was limited but for the price you pay you can't expect too much. The environment was very good and welcome. Not too busy and they have outdoor seating.

Upon arrival we noticed the difference in crowds. Not as busy and packed sidewalks. Also it was a lot cleaner than Chinatown. Since we just ate at C-Town, it was time to find a good dessert place in K-Town. So we walked and we walked until I saw a banner sign showing shaved ice desserts. Then I noticed the name of the business is Grace Street. How fitting, because that is my wife's name. So we went in and what caught my eye was a mango shaved ice with mangoes, mochi, strawberries, and condensed milk, however I was over ruled by my wife and we went with the black sesame and mochi and condensed milk. It also had red bean, but that had to be on the side, since that gives me gout. Such nice staff taking orders and we went into the dining area to find a seat. What a large spacious area with many tables. Our order came out and it looked so good. The black sesame shaved ice or snow as it's also referred to as, was perfectly sweetened by the condensed milk and the chewy mochi. Definitely cleaned my pallet from our Chinese lunch and it helped cool me down from the New York heat. We got water, but there was no ice offered, so I asked one of the workers and he was kind enough to get me some. We are through that dessert like, if we didn't finish it fast, it was going to melt. We did not give it a chance to melt one bit. The staff here are efficient, as they saw we were done, they asked to clear our dessert bowl away. It was a nice experience even if it was just dessert. They definitely had more dessert options to offer, but i

The generous serving had creamy, silky layers and was easily enough for the two of us to share. Sweet, light, and refreshing. Plenty of seating, generous portions, and a stop here never disappoints! Located on 32nd St, between Broadway & 5th Ave Train: 34 St-Herald Sq (N/Q/R/W); also an easy walk from Penn Station. Overall, a great casual dessert stop after exploring K-Town, Midtown or nearby Chelsea.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
