They used lifting weights that were TIED into the bottom of the rocking chair, instead of using the special furniture weights that get bolted into the frame. I cannot even believe the shoddy work of cutting corners that was done. The chair now completely tilts backwards. What should I do? Should I try to fix this between nursing sessions? I'm not gonna say they're the best quality, but I think it's perfect if you need to quickly furnish a place on a budget, ie - a college student needing a desk, chair, etc for a dorm or an apartment. I would say, try sitting on the stuff in store before you buy to test it's durable enough for your usage. You have to imagine that stuff this cheap is built as mail-order stuff for skinny Asians. I picked up a side table that's lasted the better part of a year, so far. I was SUPER tempted to get a fluffy cat tree for $20. Some cool selection of outdoor furniture. And even some random household things, like a clothes steamer. The thing is, I get the sense that their inventory is rather randomized. The room is pretty big so thought there was going to be a lot of good stuff. Looking around the place it became quickly apparent that this stuff is really just overstock stuff. Sitting in the chairs and feeling the fabric of the furniture you can tell the quality is somewhat lower which is reflected in the prices. After walking around for a few minutes we decided to leave. The prices are good but the stuff just seems disposable. Like you just replace them every year. If you are looking for a bargain, go to the very middle part of the store for their clearance tables. There are two big tables of various items in clearance. This is still early on in its liquidation. The employees were so friendly and helpful. What a shame that I didn't know about this place earlier. Flexsteel has its own detailed warranty and since we've never had a good extended warranty experience in the last thirty years (auto, appliances, electronics etc.) we feel like rolling the dice and paying for any repairs would offset the high price of the extended warranty offered. I have to say the shopping experience at Living spaces was the best of all other furniture stores we visited. There was no pressure and delivery was on time and exceptional. We found a couch we really liked and purchased it, but when delivery day came, it wouldn't fit through our doorway. Now, I understand some of that responsibility falls on me. However, we specifically discussed the measurements with the salesperson before making the purchase. Instead of asking follow up questions or helping us determine whether the couch would actually fit, he seemed more interested in closing the sale. He never asked about doorway clearance, access, or any of the things that ultimately became a problem. As a result, we got stuck paying a delivery fee for a couch that couldn't even make it into the house. What frustrated me most is that this felt completely avoidable. A good salesperson should be helping customers avoid expensive mistakes, not creating them. After that mess, we had to go back and pick out another couch. This time we worked with a younger guy with glasses and the difference was night and day. He asked all the right questions, listened to our concerns, and gave us recommendations that actually worked for our space. Five stars for him. The furniture quality itself is still good, which is why I keep coming back. One thing I would skip though is the extended warranty. I purchased it on furniture from my previous home and never ended up using it before it expired. Overall, I like the products here, but the service is definitely hit or miss depending on who helps you. Unfortunately, one bad salesperson ended up costing me time, money, and a lot of unnecessary frustration.
