Went in for a Mattress Upgrade on their 120 day return/exchange policy. We went in to switch for a firmer mattress they sold us a replacement for an additional 1200.00 with a next day delivery promise. Due to an error on their end our delivery was now for tomorrow. Guess what no call no delivery scheduled. Just bad business we are at the point we're just gonna suffer with the one we have and save ourselves 1200.00 they just lost a customer. read more

We had purchased a king bed mattress and box spring some time ago. As it was time to replace it we went back to what formerly was Sleepy's now Mattress Firm. We wanted an adjustable bed and were shocked at the prices. For a King adjustable we were quoted more than I paid for my first two cars both new over $8,000. When questioned the salesman (Howie) smugly said everyone charges the same prices. Basically save my time and buy there. I began to look at other options other than Sealy, Temperpedic, Sterns and Foster and was pleasantly surprised. There are many online options , so do your homework. Go to Mattress firm to get familiar with the language then order on line. Many of the online companies have mattress exhange for 120-180 days if you are not satisfied. The price??? Just wanted to share my awful experience with the manager Howie at Mattress Firm in Oceanside. I went in with my daughter a few days ago to see about a mattress for her new apt. during the Labor Day sale. He wheeled and dealed us to death and then finally quotes us a good price of $980 for a complete package: A king mattress (no boxspring), Free adjustable base for Larbor Day promo including Tax and free delivery. My daughter wanted to come back so her boyfriend can just feel the bed first and then purchase at agreed price on Friday. He said yes he would be in Friday no problem! I asked him to write down the price which he did on a sticky pad because I just had a gut feeling with him that I better have it in writing! Then when I call him Friday to say they are coming in to go buy the package quoted he says "oppps I made a mistake,sorry can't do it it at that price". He rambled on that he is "only human and made a mistake" and can't do the price quoted even though he wrote it down! What a waste of time with this sleazy salesman! Look elsewhere if I were you IMHO. My girlfriend and I went into Sleepy's in Oceanside to check out the Labor Day Sales deals, with no solid intent of making a purchase. Pete, the representative who assisted us, was very friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. He was very informative about the different styles and brands of mattresses and, while being very eager to help, still gave us ample time and space to test out the products. After looking into financing and giving the purchase some thought, we decided it was not within our financial budget to make the purchase. A few days later, I received a call from the the District Manager, Jim, who was also very polite and helpful in trying to make sure the purchase would work for myself and my girlfriend, without any added pressure to make the sale. Ultimately, we worked out a deal that did in fact fit our budget and we decided to purchase the bed we liked best. They even honored the Labor Day sale and special offer that had been going on when we first went to the store. Upon trying to inform both Pete and Jim we were willing to make the purchase, I had some trouble contacting both employees. A third employee, Charles, was just as helpful and cordial as both Jim and Pete in helping us finalize our purchase. We spoke a few times on the phone and he made sure the purchase was what we wanted and that it would be delivered when we wanted it. 2 days after finalizing our decision, we were sleeping comfortably on our brand new Serta Beautyrest Legend. We couldn't be happier with the purchase and the great customer service we received from the representatives of Sleepy's. I would highly recommend shopping at this location. read more

I bought a mattress and box spring a several years ago for $3,000 with a lifetime warranty. The mattress has big lumps and bumps in it so I called Mattress Firm. They sent a "Professional Inspector" to view this problem. Of course the Inspector claims there was a stain with has caused these large bumps and lumps. I will never buy anything from this company ever again. They claim lifetime warranty but that is not true if you have a problem they will not honor the warranty.... read more

I was unsure what bed I wanted but Howie's professionalism and knowledge helped me decide on 2 brands. I was still shopping but I said I would come back. Christine was super informative about the different quality and types of mattresses. The personalized service and the door buster sale, which included a free set of sheets, a duvet cover and a comforter, is what set them apart from competitors and big department stores. I would highly recommend you shop for a mattress in a place that specialize in mattresses. We made the mistake of going to Sears (we have used Sleepys exclusively for our 3 prior mattress purchases). We returned our $2000 crappy KINGSIZE Serta perfect Sleeper within 3 weeks (from SEARS), it was inferior quality. Let the buyer beware not all Serta sleepers are the same. Stick with Sleepys you'll never go wrong, they truly are the mattress professionals. We've learned our lesson. read more

On 8/25/14 we purchased a Temperpedic Cloud Lux Breeze mattress and the salesperson advised us that we were eligible to receive two "free" Temperpedic pillows as part of the promotion. After he searched the store we were told we were lucky as he happened to have two pillows left. While we were told that we could return the mattress AFTER a 30 day in home trial period there was no mention that the "free" pillows had to be returned WITHIN 30 days of mattress purchase in order to avoid being charged for the pillows if the mattress was returned. The mattress was delivered on 8/30/14. We were not happy with the mattress and were able to return it under the 30 day vendor in home trial policy. To be fair, the return process was uncomplicated. The issue is with the pillows. When we received our refund we were charged $129.00 each pillow plus tax for a total of $280.25 for "free"pillows that we did not need nor really want. When we called customer service to question the $280.25 charge we were told that since we returned the mattress and it was after 30 days from date of mattress purchase we could no longer return the pillows and thus were charged for the full price for the "free" pillows. This is ironic as in order to return the mattress under the vendor in home trial you must suffer with the mattress for at least 30 days . We called several more times and were told that since it was after the 30 days nothing can be done to give us a credit for the pillows. We were even willing to exchange the unopened pillows for a credit for the purchase of bedding accessories which would make the $280.25 hurt less. On our last call a supervisor offered that we could apply an "employee discount" to a future purchase at Sleepys. So we need to spend money to get our money back. We have always purchased mattresses at Sleepys and never had a problem, but after this experience they have lost a customer. The bottom line of this all is buyer beware. Free is not "free" when it comes to dealing with Sleepys. Take time to read the fine print on your contract or those "free" pillows may end up costing you alot more than you thought. read more
