The manager Ralph was super nice and helpful. Got a much better deal than what was offered online and had the perk of trying out the different brands and firmness levels in one place to get the right fit for us. The only downside to my experience (and I'm sure this is a one off fluke thing) was after laying down on multiple mattresses to get a real feel, I found my shirt was covers in freshly cut hair... I had not gotten a haircut in weeks so this hair I was covered in was not mine.... Overall pleasant experience though even still. There were no hard ball sales tactics or the feeling of being pressured to buy something right-away. They had all the answers we needed and took their time to make sure we understood our options. read more

The biggest Mickey Mouse operation that I have ever seen. Went to buy a twin size mattress, box spring, and frame. Spent over $500. We took everything home with us, assembled ourselves, and it turns out - they gave us a twin XL box spring instead of a regular twin. Call the store, tell them it's wrong, they say okay we'll exchange it but not until Wednesday, so sleep 3 days with your bed on an incline due to our negligence. Wednesday arrives, the company calls us to leave the box spring outside because they'll be here in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later they show up and refuse to exchange it because it's "wet." It's not WET, it's COLD from being outside - and call me crazy but...you messed up, and now it's our fault?? The trucking company called and told us to call the store. The original sales person we dealt with is off, so the man in the store gave me the number of the dispatch office for the trucking company and told me to call them because he couldn't help me. I called the dispatch who got angry that I even had their number, put me on hold and never picked back up. So I called the trucking company back, who told me that there's nothing they can do because they don't have the "authority," we were stop 10 out of 19 and the truck has moved on. There is a complete and total lack of customer service and integrity with this company. As soon as they have your money it's a run around to fix mistakes that aren't even your fault. With so many places to purchase mattresses, I can safely say that we will never even LOOK at Mattress Firm again and I would encourage anyone else to save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. My husband and I have been shopping around for a new mattress and decided to give Mattress Firm a try. When we walked in, we were greeted by Phil. He recommended for us to try a firm, medium and then a plush. To see which type we liked and then narrow it down from there. He gave us some time to test them out until be came over to us again, which I really appreciated! He then recommended which beds to try after we told him which style we liked. He was extremely knowledgeable, funny and nice. But the best part of it all was that he wasn't pushy at all, which made me feel very comfortable. Just a little back story about myself...I do not like when sales people are pushy and on top of me. It turns me off right away and I tend to leave the store when this happens. Phil didn't do that at all. In fact, after he took the time to go over everything with us, I told him we wanted to go home take some measurements and then we'll come back. He didn't pressure us at all, which made me want to come back even more. Aside from the excellent customer service, they had a vast selection of premier quality mattresses. We ended up going with the Dream Bed Lux mattress, which has features ranging from temperature regulation for cooler sleep to providing great back support. We both have bad backs and mine has gotten worse since I'm almost 25 weeks pregnant, so we can appreciate this feature. We also got all the bells and whistles by adding the adjustable head and foot base with a massage option. They had a great President's Day sale going on so why not! I bought the softest mattress they sold there a few months back. When it was delivered the mattress was incredibly firm, much more than the mattress in the store. I was told it would soften over time and I could walk on the mattress to soften it quicker. It's been a few months and it's not much softer. It's so firm that I wake up with numbness in my hands and arms every day. Don't spend your money here. I will never buy a mattress from this place again. read more

I would not even give one star.... but the review wont let me... here is my experience - My 81 year old mom needed a new mattress ... the mattress she had was over 10 years old.... and she was complaining that her back was hurting ... I explained to her that she really needed a new mattress .... at first she said no mine is fine .... mattresses are expensive .....reluctantly she agreed to go with me shopping.... on the way to the store she specifically told me I just want a mattress.... no box spring or frame because she already had one..... I am pretty sure her reason was because she wanted to keep the cost down.... she told me ahead of time that she does not want me to pay for the bed... because she knows me ..... I will buy her what ever I think she needs.... I was planning all along to pay at the end .... but would do as she asked to keep her happy ... I just wanted to find the mattress that she was comfortable on.... I chose this to this location because I had a wonderful experience with a salesmen named Charlie when I purchased my daughters adjustable bed 2 years ago.... Charlie was with another customer.... I was helped by another person... I explained to salesman my mom would like to get the same bed she had at home.... which was a Sealy Posturepedic plush.... he then said they didn't sell that brand ... but he had other beds that were similar .... I looked at her... she looked disappointed .... I quickly changed the subject and explained we did some research with consumer reports and had a list of beds that she might be interested in and asked to please start with showing us mattresses that were on sale... because this is what my mom wanted... my mom was not feeling well and I was lucky to even get her in the store.... I brought along her pillows and told her she needed to test the mattresses because she would be the one sleeping on the bed.... I could see the salesman was not happy with my request to see the mattresses on sale ... but this is what my mom wanted to do.... I was trying to make her happy.. she tried 2 beds one was firm and one was like the old bed my mom had at home.... it was soft and plush... when I asked the price of both he explained the plush bed was a lot more expensive because of all the material they used to make it soft... I said really??? That didn't sound right to me... but we continued and then the topic of the box spring came up and I told the salesmen.... we did not want one... and lets work on finding her the mattress first and we can go from there.... ignoring my request ... he went over to his desk pulled out a paper explaining if I did not purchase the box spring it would void the warranty ... I told him I understood because I recently bought a new bed for my husband and I it was a sleep number bed... with that....he became aggravated and told me he would not help us buy a bed to wait for Charlie to be free... he went on to say I can not believe that you would not purchase a good bed for your mom.... because you don't think she will be using it for 10 years... I simply asked my mom to get her pillows and we politely said good night to Charlie and left the store .... my mom did not know what was going on... she was confused .... she could not believe the salesman said what he said and walked away leaving her that way.... I explained sometimes people are just rude.... and not to worry.... I took her to Macy's ... She picked out a Serta mattress .....after trying every bed on the floor with her pillows of course ... and yes I payed for it..... I added in the matching box spring and the best bed frame they sold ....when salesman asked for payment .... I told my mom ....Merry Christmas.... this is your present.... we both left very happy and we were treated with the utmost respect the entire time at MACYS.... read more

At first, we thought it was going to be a pleasant experience shopping here with PHIL, the sales associate. When we questioned the price after waiting an hour for him bouncing back and forth between us and another customer, he became defensive and rude. He said if we waived the sleep trail of 4 months, he could discount the price. When I shook my head no, as I had told him prior to that we would not be waiving the trial, he literally put his hands behind his back and rudely walked away, just saying "good bye". I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my entire life and instantly left the store. Mattress firm will NEVER get my business and I can see why they are going out of business. For such a large company, you would think that they would take pride in their employees and only hire the best. Unfortunately... that is not Phil. He was only concerned about the deal going through, and when he was slightly tipped off that we may not be able to afford the price, he became very rude and returned to the customer seeking a more expensive mattress.
