Been well over a decade since I've been mattress shopping, and just like buying a car, hunting around for a large purchase to last you several years can be a tad stressful. In the end, after scoping out several stores around town, I wound up taking the plunge with Mattress Land because of the prices, the customer service, and how upfront the staff were about what I was getting, what to expect, and what they recommend. Needless to say, I had tons of questions about quality, price-point, brands, and what services or incentives they offer. I worked with Rudy throughout the whole process, who was very patient and did an absolutely outstanding job answering questions and explaining things to me. One thing to keep in mind, is that this is something YOU need to do your homework about, be sure to voice any questions that may arise,don't be afraid to test out a bunch of these beds while you're here, and really give some consideration as to how they feel. One of the complaints I've seen other reviewers state, is how they feel some of the beds lack features or protection options. From what I found, those protections are indeed there, just be aware that a bunch of them are not included just off the bat, and you may need to spring a bit of extra money to get them. But on the flipside, I honestly found the prices here pretty reasonable and in a range I was hoping for, so it was a no-brainer to go the extra step and make sure I had the better protection plan, and ensure I had all the info on the warranty. All things considered, expect to see an updated review from me in a few months, since by then I will know for sure how this mattress is working out, and I'll adjust the number of Stars up or down accordingly. For now, sticking with four stars, since at least in the short term I am quite satisfied with the bed I got, the price I paid, and the service I received, and I can definitely recommend Mattress Land as a place to look if you're in the market for a better night's sleep. read more

We had a great experience at Mattress Land and ended up getting a fantastic deal on a new Tempur-pedic. We pretty much knew what we wanted when we walked into Mattress Land, but Joe Pittman helped answer additional questions and provided suggestions beyond what we were considering. When they didn't have the particular version of the mattress we wanted to try, he sent us down to Carson City and his colleague Dante to try it out in person. Within minutes we knew it was the mattress for us so went back up to Joe and purchased it without hesitation. Sure, we could have spent weeks hopping from various mattress stores searching for the best deal but we knew Joe was giving us a good deal and it was worth it to just close the sale out and get our new mattress. Several months later and we are still beyond pleased with our purchase and experience at Mattressland! I initially went in to Mattress Land to start researching prices and good quality beds. Bret greeted my mother and I immediately in a friendly but professional manner, told us to browse and while he quickly finished up with his task. He asked what my price range was gave me 2 options and priced out a whole set (mattress/foundation/metal frame). He even wrote it on a business card and gave me his work schedule. I NEVER felt pressured or as if I was being sold something I couldn't afford. I went to 2 other places but no one really got close to the QUALITY and the price. I called Bret back about 1 week later, we did everything over the phone, he sent me all my receipts and even detailed directions for the warehouse where I could pick everything up. Not to mention he and the team at the warehouse all wore masks the entire time and there was hand sanitizer available. I first left a great review for the first initial experience. However, I have come to realize that Mattress Land's policies aren't to take care of their customers. Unfortunately, my mattress is new, but defective, Mattress Land doesn't want to be honorable and genuinely opt to help their customer. I am very disappointed with their impossible policy, they make it so that their customers will never be helped. All I wanted a refund and they would rather rip me off. I haven't had my mattress for a long time, it isn't even a month old. My advice, don't do business with this company, they don't care about their customers. read more

I'm sad to report such a lovely transaction ending in such disappointment. After a few months deciding on what bed we want my husband and I scouted the location we wanted to spend our $4k+. It was simple at MattressLand because the sales man Donte was pleasant and no one else was in there. Boom we said we'd be back and we did just that. We purchased a Tempurpedic set up. It's a long story but here we are more than 3 weeks later and I'm STILL waiting for my bed to be delivered. The communication and customer service has been worse than any I've experienced. My husband and I have had to call them, each. and. every. single. time. They can't seem to be bothered to simply let us know what is going on. Upon learning that we will finally be getting our mattress, they tried to offer us sheets in exchange for the hours wasted trying to sort this all out. Not to mention hours of lost sleep because we have been on the couch for 14 days. Like, if they would have just told us it would be a month to deliver, we would have been cool with that. Worst of all they didn't even offer to waive the set/up fee. We don't want your sheets we want to be treated like you actually care that we spend our hard earned money at your shop. I would suggest going with a bigger company that has procedures set in place to communicate and inform their customers of changes to their orders or delays. I own my own small business and so does my husband, this service is so laughable but at our expense. and finallllly Tempurpedic themselves reached out to me to sort it out, a massive operation was quicker than this local Matressland. Extremely disappointed with the system and the service provided by Mattress firm. Believe the paperwork when it says once you take delivery of the mattress it's yours. Spent way more than $5K one a special system that we told the sale person would be put inside an Amish built bed frame. From the time it was delivered, the system had issues. The two king mattresses were different lengths - enough that it showed when the beds were made. We were told they would all grow to the same length ..... The beds clicked and clacked when controls were operated. The initial attempt by Mattress Land to solve the problems with the installation consisted of a team of two service people with one being very talkative, apparently the lead member. He proceeded to construct his uneducated explanations of what the problem was and why. He had no idea what he was talking about - he was explaining mechanical systems similar to many I had in depth experience with in my professional life. I let him dig his own grave of inaccurate information. The next service man to come actually tried to help, but there were still inherent issues with that mattress system in our bed frame when he left. The service folks decided the issue was the bed frame rails so I removed them. Afterwards, the beds still didn't operated correctly with the rails removed. Now, some of the motors just groan and don't operate at all. Upon telling Mattress Land that we quit trying to work with the mattress and will just get a simple king mattress elsewhere, they had no opportunity on returns of even the base system with all the motors and levers. Also, there was no method for them to help us remove the mattress system from our house. I suspect, but don't know for sure, that installing this complex mattress system in a substantial, well made wooden bed frame caused much of our problem. Mattress land should have spent a some time trying to understand what our problem was and if it is the bed frame, they should be educating themselves so that they can warn other purchasers. Other than the second service man they made no real effort to understand and resolve our problem. My wife and I are not willing to endure the aggravation with this system anymore, despite the big pocket book hit. To Mattress Land, look out for your customers, not your pocket book. Spend some time understanding your customer's issues. To customers, read the detailed paperwork and understand that when the system enters your home there is no process to recover any loss. read more

Really impressed with Mattress Land SleepFIT. My boyfriend and I went in to find a new mattress, and to be honest we were dreading the process. We were pleasantly surprised with the experience! Drew helped us select a bed that fit both mine and my boyfriend's needs. We utilized the BedFit measuring system that helped us identify what level of firmness suited each of us individually as well as what a "happy medium" would be. It was actually different than what we had originally thought we wanted (the one we ended up choosing was so much better!) Drew gave a great price on the mattress. Not only was he friendly and helpful, he was patient and we never felt rushed. When the mattress was delivered the guys who came (so sorry I can't remember their names!) were very friendly and efficient. They put together our adjustable base and set it up with the new mattress. I'm not sure what's going on with all the good reviews for mattress land but I just had the WORST customer service experience of my life at the hands of Mickey, the store manager of the mattress land in sparks. I called there to speak with Dante who we purchased our mattress from at the Reno store about two months ago. Dante wasn't in so I relayed the problem to Mickey figuring a store manager would certainly help me right? So wrong. Long story short- bought a mattress for 2500. Hated it. Used the comfort exchange for a new one. It was 300 extra including the restocking fee. Got it. Love the new mattress. Was told to just call the credit card company to combine the two balances and we're good to go. Did so only to find out we were being charged a 28% interest rate for the additional 300 balance. We specifically had asked if that would happen and were told no- that 300 is part of the promotional interest free 2500 original price. Was told by the card company I just needed to call mattress Land SleepFit to have them fix their mistake. After an hour on the phone with the card company I called Mattress Land SleepFit only to have Mickey argue with me about how it's my fault I didn't read the terms and conditions. I explained to him how no one sits in the store and spends 30 minutes reading the fine print and it's their job to kind of sum it up for us. Furthermore we specifically asked about the interest and were told no there would be no interest so I saw no reason to think they were lying and then go on to read the booklet from the credit company in the store. Anyway, Mickey was SO rude and condescending- I'm shocked. Out of one side of his mouth he was telling me he would look into it and out the other he was telling me how it was my fault and treating me like a moron telling me they're not the bank and they have no clue what my interest rate is. Yet they were able to tell me it was no interest so that's weird. The conversation escalated because of his accusatory "I'll look into this but it's really your fault insinuations." I asked him if he was married and had kids and if he could just have a little compassion cause I had an effing ( I did say the f word) baby on my hip with a poopy diaper and could he just fix their mistake. He then said I was cussing at him and hung up on me. All I wanted was for mattress Land SleepFit to call the cc company, fix their mistake of charging me 28% interest and not telling me, maybe say sorry about that, and that's it. But Mickey is too busy being condescending, rude, and argumentative To care about helping customers. I've been in customer service a long time so I have a high threshold for rudeness. I don't expect people to kiss my booty, I'm not a "Karen", and I have been annoyed with customers more times than I can count. However if I had spoken to any customer the Way Mickey spoke to me, I would have been fired. Unacceptable behavior. Go to Ashley (which I normally hate Ashley- that's how bad my experience was here at mattress land ) and avoid these kind of mean people at all costs. Not only has mattress land ruined my day by being so combative, but they have completely taken the joy out of this nice new mattress we have by how difficult this whole process was. I'm sure Mickey is nice enough when everything goes right but when there's a problem and you need his help, he's just going to fight with you. read more

I needed three mattress for my family. Two twin for children's beds and one double for a guest room. I called ahead a couple of times to ask about delivery and verify an offer from a promotional card I had received. Both times I spoke with Bret who was professional, friendly, and very helpful. When I finally went to the store, I was pleased to find Bret there. Walking into the store, I noticed that these were high quality mattresses. While I wanted good comfortable mattresses, I was not looking to spend a fortune. I wanted quality and comfort, not bells & whistles. Especially for a bed that would not get a lot of wear. Still, I wanted comfort for the guest bed. Bret asked all the right questions, about children's sizes for their beds, firmness preference, comfort level. He was able to quickly zero in on what I was looking for. The mattresses he suggested were perfect and the price was right in my range. He was able to get a delivery scheduled within a couple of days and the delivery went smooth. They took away the old mattresses, as requested. I highly recommend Mattress Land and Bret. read more

Please read initial post and then what happened after posting below. I wouldn't give this place even a one if I didn't have to. I have dealt with them for over two years and have gone through three mattresses that are pieces of crap. All this after spending $1800.00. Dave the manager is NOT about helping a customer but, about stealing your money and giving you the worst mattress I have ever slept on. He is always on the side of the company and could care less about my comfort. After 8 months I have indents in the mattress that can be seen visually. After paying another $60 he says sorry nothing I can do. Definitely not the guy to count on to throw you a life vest. I have found so many stores i.e. Sierra Mattress that have higher quality beds at a lower price (like Tommy Bahamas)and customer service that is impeccable. Unfortunately I met them after giving my money to this crappy business. I hope you steal clear of ever dealing with these guys. I wanted to post about my experience since initially posting. Two hours after I posted I received a call from Ryan in Spokane, he immediately set me up with the new manager at the Reno store (never having to deal with Dave again). By Friday I was given a sleep fit test and the joy of working with Randy. I have a new mattress on order and looking forward to being able to sleep for once in two years. The unbelievable difference two people in this company has made is inspiring. I was literally impressed. They have changed my opinion with their "what can I do to help" attitude and making a real difference. Went here on a Monday morning and got the best service. We did not feel pressured to buy at all which was nice. We purchased a groupon so we went to check it out. We felt very welcomed and the salesman, Dave, was extremely helpful. He was the only one working and we were the only customers so he made us feel right at home. He showed us quite a few beds, let us take our time laying on them, discussed the specs without it being too much and left at the right time to let us discuss which one we liked in private. Please don't buy from this store off virginia near winco they don't know a thing about mattresses we bought a sterns & foster for $3,000 the worst bed ever. It had are body imprints on each side and this was suppose to be a firm bed. We have a bump in the middle 2" high. We had returned the posturepedic for this mattress because we were told if we didn't like it we could return it for another mattress don't let that reel you in like us. We are going to shop this weekend for a new bed after throwing our money away on this one. My first time at Mattress Land, I had entered only to gather information on different types, styles, and prices on all mattress', this was also my last location to go into over the weekend. Art was not your typical salesman compared to the other places. He took the time to inform and answer all my questions. I didn't buy. Instead, I kept researching the products that Art had shared. Fast forward three months, I shopped around again looking for the best bargains. I purposely left Mattress Land as my last stop, and was disappointed to walk in and not be greeted by Art. Fortunately, I was welcomed by Drew, and had provided a positive experience. He took the time to check the prices on the mattress I had researched, and made sure to take the time to inform me of all the options and bargains available to me. I was satisfied with my shopping experience, and was told it would take 2-3 weeks for my shipment to arrive. I just want to say how happy I am with my mattress. The salesman Art really went out of his way to be sure I was going to be a happy customer. He explained the differences in the materials used, as well as getting me the best mattress for the money. There was no funny business like trying to get all the money he could out of me. I liked that he took interest in my needs to help decide what was best for me. A mattress is really not something you should by without trying first. They also must have had about 40 beds on the floor to try out. Art was very up front and honest over the quality for the price of there beds. We were the only ones in the store at the time and we got to take our time looking at mattresses with our salesperson Dave. Dave determined what type of mattress we were looking for and showed us a whole range of beds. His explanations and insights were helpful in helping us pick out the bed we thought would be best for us. Dave has very good knowledge of the products in his store and we never felt rushed or pushed to make a decision. I bought my mattress two weeks ago. My first key that I shouldn't have purchased here should've been that the sales associate only showed me two mattresses fitting the description I wanted because that was "all they had in that description." My description was something soft because i'm a side sleeper. Not too specific for a mattress store. I bought a mattress that is definitely on the more expensive side. As I am checking out they tell me that unfortunately they cannot deliver the mattress for another week because it isn't in stock. Well that sucks but I say okay and schedule the delivery. They then call me the day before delivery and say they can't deliver it because it still isn't in town. Well okay. Then I find out it not only isn't being delivered that day, but it can't be delivered for another week. By this point I've already been on an air mattress for a month and a half and now it's been an additional week when I would've never bought the mattress from there had I known it would take 2 weeks to deliver. However, for the inconvenience, they said they would throw in a set of free, very nice, sheets so I said fine, nothing we can do, at least they're trying to make it up to me. Fast forward AGAIN and I get a two hour delivery window for the day of delivery. I have sat around waiting for two hours and I still don't have my mattress. This is ridiculous and I will never purchase another mattress from here. I have now waited two weeks for a mattress and yet it has not been delivered today but my delivery window has come and gone. I understand they are nice for throwing in the sheets but it doesn't make up for the fact that they should've known originally it would be two weeks so I could've shopped elsewhere. read more

Buyer beware that there is a break in period for the beds. This wasn't the case a few years back but I guess things have changed. The salesman I had didn't inform me of any break in period before I bought my mattress. I talked to the manager and was able to get a softer bed. read more

My husband and I went to Mattress Land in Reno, near Lumber Liquidators to look for a new Mattresses. The Salesman "David" used a computer that was hooked up to a special bed that measured where we needed more support and the areas that would get sore during the night, like the shoulder, hip, etc., causing us to wake up and turn over. The computer recommended a number that corresponded to the firmness or softness of each bed so that we knew where to start. We found a bed that we liked, and we picked out a couple of sets of sheets and a new pillow. We left feeling like we had a pleasant Customer Service experience with a person who was an expert in mattresses. After we had left, we had a lot of questions that we did not think to ask while we were there. So we called Mattress Land several times and spoke to Randy, and he gladly answered all of our questions. He was very pleasant over the phone, and there wasn't a question that he could not answer. Approximately, two weeks later we got a call saying that out mattress is in, and we scheduled delivery for a Sunday morning. The delivery crew arrived right on time, they all were very nice, they brought in the new mattresses and set them up and took the old mattresses and hauled them away for us. Awesome Customer Serice is a thing of the past. People just do not seem to care like they use to. It was nice to get back to that good old fashioned Customer Service where they would go to the ends of the earth and back to have us as their customer.
