I've been needing a new mattress for a really long time and it was finally convenient for me to start shopping. I rolled in and met Phil who was super welcoming. I like that it's a local family owned place. I did quite a bit of research on the mattresses- and the manager Phil gives a great deal. Get your mattress from him! They have a good array of options- I chose my queen organic cotton firm mattress because it's old school, locally made in LA - is a mixture of all natural pocket coils and real cotton. This is not a compressed mattress. It had some of the basic certifications but not the green gold certification- I hope they can get that certification soon. This place rules. I really didn't know what to expect from the location but the guys could not have been more knowledgeable and helpful, and honest! If you live in the area please support this company and don't get your mattress from one of those "mattress in a box" places. I've had them, they suck. The day we moved in the neighborhood we picked up a king mattress for cheaper than we had expected, and then a few days later we realized we needed the foundation and they actually delivered it for $150 less than what Sit n Sleep was charging for the foundation alone! *** Update *** Although my initial interaction with this establishment was positive, after buying a floor model mattress, I was repeatedly told that a warranty was included. In the hustle of carrying out the mattress, I later realized I never received a proper receipt or paperwork regarding the promised warranty. When I reached back out, I was told that it was not included. Although I understand how that can be tricky with a floor model, I don't appreciate the lack of professionalism and, frankly, dishonesty during the purchase. I also never received a sincere apology from the saleswoman for her misunderstanding and miscommunication of the terms of the mattress. After deciding that I was uncomfortable dealing with this establishment, I went back to return the mattress and arrived soon after their posted hours ~10:30am but the store wasn't open. The parking attendent informed me that there's usually no one in until later in the afternoon. After waiting around for a couple hours and basically wasting time, with the mattress already loaded in the car, ready for return, there was finally someone in the store and I was finally able to return this mattress after talking in circles with the saleswoman with no admittance of fault for the miscommunication. Eventually, I purchased the exact same model from Macys and happily paid the higher cost with no issues. I'd normally prefer to support more local businesses but this whole transaction left a bad taste and wasted so much unnecessary time and effort. *** Original *** As a first time mattress buyer, I'm grateful to have come to Mattress Stop.
