The second we walked in, the lady at the desk greeted us and seemed sweet. She asked us if we needed anything, so I proceeded to tell her that I wasn't sure because my husband and I had never been mattress shopping before. She just said "okay". After asking if we could lay on the mattresses and she handed us some bags with a sheet in them and explained what to do, then she just went back to her desk. There was a man who must have been the manager who was in the back or something came out because they had customers. I was expecting him to say something, or ask us what we were looking for, or even offer up knowledge about the mattresses to help us find something that fit our needs......... instead he just stood in the lobby the entire time without saying a word and just watched us walk around. We're pushing on mattresses, trying to read the grading tag, trying to understand on our own what the gradings meant, did a few passes per mattress...... The man never even said hi. He didn't even move at all. He just stood in one spot and stared at us awkwardly the entire time we were in there. The girl at the desk never said anything to us after her initial reaction either. It was so uncomfortable we just said thanks and left.

We were referred to Mattress World by the sales rep for Symbol Mattress. We visited the store on…read moreAugust 22, 2015. The mattress we chose was displayed on a platform bed in the sales floor. When asked if they had the matching foundation, Sean assured us they did. Mattress and foundation were delivered that same evening. Foundation was not made by Symbol. The warranty states the foundation must be one made for the mattress to avoid voiding the warranty. A call to Sean resulted in him saying the foundation delivered was better quality than one made by Symbol. He was abrupt acting insulted that we would question him. He said the warranty would not be voided. The following day the sales rep called saying the foundation delivered was better quality than the one made by Symbol. He also said the warranty would not be voided. A call to Symbol in Virginia verified that the foundation had to be a Symbol to keep the mattress warranty. Symbol made a foundation for us, delivered it and took away the foundation from Mattress World on September 23. The sales rep is no longer with Symbol. Sean Morrone never contacted us during this time. We finally got the mattress and foundation on our bed on September 27. We do like the mattress after 1 week. However, we have a high bed. It would have been nice if someone had asked about this and suggested a low profile foundation because the bed is now very high. As of this date, Sean now calls daily because he received notice that we had filed a complaint with our credit card company. We are in the process of resolving the complaint. In summary, we did get an excellent price on the mattress set. They did not deliver what we paid for. Sean did not do anything to help resolve the issue. He did not make an attempt to contact Symbol for the correct foundation. He did not contact us to follow-up on the delivery of the foundation from Symbol. Customer service, integrity and honesty are missing from Mattress World in Matthews. We would never recommend them or shop here again.

He even found my only other purchase at Mattress Firm in California in 2017 and even though that product was discontinued (sad considering it was amazing) he helped me find the most comparable item today.
