Excellent service and repair of my water main pipe which developed a pin hole leak and was leaking 5 gallons of water an hour. Jorge came out quickly and stopped the leak. Returned the next day and repaired the leaking pipe after he had to jackhammer the concrete around the main water line where it entered the garage . He replaced the pin hole leak with copper pipe. Then he came back two days later and repaired the cement. This company charged a fair and reasonable price. Highly recommend this company. read more

These people are the thing nightmares are made of. Rather than work with a customer over work gone bad, they deny any wrongdoing and come after you with tooth and nail. They blame your faucet for being old. My question is if it is old, why bother working on it from the get go? Why take on the job? All my faucet needed was a set of cartridges, which I provided. The plumber they sent over obviously did not know how to work on the brand I had. He left the handles loose causing both handles to shift positions and to leak. In addition, he stripped the internal part of the left handle rendering it damaged. A second visit repositioned the right handle but still left both loose. They refused to correct and tighten the left side because they damaged it. They had the nerve to offer to come back for further repairs on the handle for additional fees. Overall, this company has no integrity and was a nightmare to deal with. What they are good at is crazy making and demonizing the injured party. They resort to character assassination. They are very good at it, and the powers that you, the aggrieved customer, think are there to protect you are just as corrupt. Please be warned and save yourself from grief. Overall the system is rigged, and these people are dangerous. They are corrupt, including the system. I just happened to get caught up in it, naively thinking that honesty can prevail. Shame on this company and the misery they are capable of imposing on people rather than showing integrity and willingness to correct their mistakes! read more

They have rude workers who do not care ONE bit about the customer. Wow. I can see these guys starting fights by the way they mouth off at you if you have a problem with them. We just remodeled an old bathroom with marble tile, clear glass shower door, and very nice faucets and shower fixtures. We did not want Burbank's hard water to mar the fixtures' beauty or plug up the shower. Bruce gave us an estimate for a standard water-softener, but then he suggested we consider a new de-lime system. The de-lime system requires no electrical or main soil drain connections that are required by the old style system, and the internal chemicals last 5 years rather than monthly addition of salt in the old system. The water is not 'softened' by adding sodium, but the de-lime system takes the dissolved calcium and magnesium out of the water. You get the benefit of soft water without the downside of soft water such as monthly maintenance and the slick feel of the water. Bruce also suggested we install an under-sink water filter. We also knew the pressure regulator needed replacement. His crew did all this work in two half-days and the water was off for only a couple of hours in total. As the photos show, the installation was performed very professionally. Whenever we need plumbing we call Mauerhan. I fired my plumber on Wednesday, my millwork guy recommended I talk to Bruce at Mauerhan Plumbing. I called Bruce and he had a plumber available for that Friday. The other plumber wanted more than $1100 to finish the work not including the tub install. The two guys Bruce sent out (Eddie and Jonathan) installed a drop-in acrylic tub (set in a mortar base), installed the tub spout and trim, connected the tub drain and overflow, set the drop in sink with valves and drain, installed the showerhead and valve trim, installed the toilet everything caulked, grouted, connected and functioning at the end of a 7 1/2 hour day and charged me only $782.16. His guys had a good attitude and were very professional and knowledgeable. read more

I had originally called Mauerhan to install a toilet. I left it up to them and it came to almost $1,000 installed. Now I appreciate a good dump as much as the next guy but I don't know if I needed a $500 Toto UltraMax II. I also don't know exactly how much I paid for the stupid thing since it was bundled in with the labor (I'm guessing around $750) but that's what I paid for another one shortly thereafter for my other bathroom (I'm a huge fan of the UMII and another plumber told me to buy the toilet myself and call them to install it) When I needed a new water heater I called Lowes and Mauerhan and chose to deal with a local plumber instead. $4,000 for a tankless water heater sounded a bit excessive but it was in inline with Lowes. Without time to deal with it or shop around I went ahead and the unit has been working flawlessly. As a small business owner I can appreciate the costs of running a business but it wasn't that big of a deal to install it. One thing that did upset me was that they did not leave the wrench to change the descaler filter but rather told me to call them annually to have it replaced. Turns out they are available on Amazon for $5 plus the filter but I was a bit unhappy that the tool wasn't left as I paid for it. It takes about 5 minutes to turn off the water, unplug the heater, open a faucet to relieve the pressure, replace the filter, turn the water back on, close the faucet and plug the heater back in; the job doesn't really justify calling a turd wrangler. Had I been told I would need to purchase a $75 filter every year (web price... not Mauerhan) I would have probably opted for a tank as I figure I'm only saving about $5/mo in gas with the tankless and that math doesn't work. In short the work is excellent but I was left feeling a bit battered and bloody each time with the charges. On the other hand there's certainly value in having the work done properly and I can't fault them for that. read more

First off I want to say from my experience yesterday I was very happy with Mauerhan Plumbing. Look, Plumbing is one of those mystic arts & to us folks who are Plumbing illiterate, we always feel were being over charged or not communicated with effectively. I felt they #1 communicated with me very well, cleaned up a big mess ( I had black oil/sludge all over the outside of the area they were working on) They also found a potential big problem and fixed it then and there. Was it cheep well no, but could the problem have been twice as bad and twice the price if they had not found the problem YES ! Overall finding a good honest Plumber is challenging in LA, but I think I fond my guys, I rather good, honest and efficient, and pay a tad more then cheep and crapy ! They are going to work on another job for me next week, so let's see how that goes, if they are 2 for 2 then they will definitely be a keeper ! read more

The companies Owner is the most honest plumber I know. If you only speak to the Tech Staff, don't judge the company by them. CALL THE OWNER. We used this company when Old man Mauerhan (Bruces Dad) came out and was barking at all the team. The work then was near perfect and fair prices most of the time. Some things take special talent in your properties vein structure. The old man taught us that. Bruce HAS that talent. He has lived in this town of 100 year old homes. Grew up turning wretches. (Grandpa, Father, Son, now Daughters(3). I asked them to help with a redo of my family 1929 home. I got 8 estimates. Bruce was in the mid range, BUT he worked with me along the way!! Making the entire job cheaper in the long run. We got great work, excellent recommendations, our ideas would have given a weaker result. THAT is what you want from your contractor. Could Bruce have done the cheaper job YES. He instead offers a way to make us happy with the outcome and with him in the longer run. I come from a Knowledge is Power, family we are engineers. It was Bruce's nightmare I am sure. Yes, Bruce had to listen to us say how we expected it. Then he educated us on HOW it really is done and why. Communication openly is everything on a build. And educating yourself is prime. Oh, ya, and IF YOU can do it better than what they are offering, by all means do it yourself. And leave an open schedule for some of us who want the quality work. If you have an issue with a staff member or tech, CALL HIM. Let him know if customer service is cheated or quality of work is lacking. I used them once, used them twice, never third time. The first time my HOA paid for them and the guy was courteous and clean. Sink was overflowing and he snaked and fixed it. Second time I had to pay for it...had an old fixture that needed to come off. The guy tried and since it was too old he couldnt remove it (which I appreciate him not trying to break my plumbing). However, the guy was there for about 20 minutes and I received a $100+ bill. So now I'm out over $100+ and I still have to fix it. I would strongly suggest finding a plumber that doesn't overcharge. They could probably fix it, but so can other plumbers that won't rip you off. read more

They quoted me "$85 an hour, one hour minimum." The plumber worked for 40 minutes, took 10 minutes to write the invoice, then presented, with a straight face, an invoice that charged me for 2 hours plus a $15 truck charge. When I questioned it he said "I added a 20 minute drive charge to get to you, plus we round up to the nearest hour and we always charge a $15 truck charge. Didn't they tell you?" Nope, they didn't. When I complained they reduced it to 1.5 hours, but kept the truck charge. I decided to pay the bill, but post on Yelp. read more

Similar experience as other posts. Actually plumbing work done was good. However taking an hour and 10 minutes to turn off the water in a complex they are familiar with is outrageous at $118 an hour (weekend work). Required 4 quarter turn valves to be turned off, which I could have done in 5 minutes, if the locations were labeled as this company had been hired to do previously.. Charged for drive time to and from my place, as well as, truck charge, which was not stated previously. Actual plumbing work done in 55 minutes, charged 3 hours. Did responded to emails, however, stated that charging over $450 for replacement of 6 quarter turn valves (taking 55 minutes) was reasonable??????? read more

Poor customer service. They often overcharge for jobs. They are VERY messy and don't clean up after themselves. They get the job done, but as stated are not focused on customer service or leaving the customer happy. It amazes me how companies like this stay in business read more

Sorry to read those other reviews..but they could not be talking about the Mauerhan Plumbing. in Glendale.These guys are super efficient..they come in and get the job done..Been using them for years and I've always recommended them to my friends.They show up in the time frame that they say they will,and they would never leave the building unless the problem is fixed.They clean up all the mess and then some.I can not single any one particular plumber out,because they are all good.Also if there is a concern that you may have,the owner Bruce is always available to come out on site and deal with it hands on.Last not but least the two receptionist Gerry & Rhonda is always so pleasant when you call,they always make you feel like you are the 1st. priority!I can go on & on saying great things about this company,but I think you get the jist.Whoever felt like they had a bad experience..give them another try..They are worth it!! read more
