I was really looking forward to the Lahaina (north Napili)? location which was walking distance from the rented condo. Prior stops in other locations were good. Cool spot to hang out at for some beers and some appetizers with friends and family. The brewery has plenty of tvs, loud music and friendly bartenders. I got a flight and ended up preferring the recommended beers from the bartender over the ones I had originally picked up. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of menu. I also ordered the Wild Hog flatbread, which was delicious, with a sweet and Smokey flavor. I wish I was able to try more but was full off the beer and flatbread. We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday. It was pretty quiet, maybe half full. It's a big space, but not nearly as nice as the location in Kihei. You order with a QR code at the table, but folks still bring you water and check in on you. We went with a small caesar salad, an order of fries, and a Wild Hog pizza. The pizza was definitely the stand out. It had Coconut Hiwa BBQ sauce, mozzarella, kalua pork, pineapple, and chives. It was larger than I expected, definitely share-able. In fact, we split everything between three of us and it was a perfect portion. My daughter and I split a root beer, my husband enjoyed his IPA, and we grabbed some merch on the way out the door (love their branding). I feel like there has been some improvement in food and the restaurant itself since we were last there in 2018. The beer is still awesome. The food was good. We went twice. The first time I got fish tacos. I thought they were just kinda meh. I would cut the pieces of fish a little smaller down. I'd also put the very spicy Baja sauce on the side for those that may not like a lot. I couldn't finish them because the spice was too much. The second time we went I got the teriyaki bowl. It was delicious. I'd honestly just get that again if we get to come back. My kids thought their food, both times was good. My son burger was a little overcooked. The other people in my party were happy with their food choices as well as drink. For a brewery I'd love for them to include more allergen friendly foods. As someone with a dairy allergy it is really hard to eat in Maui unless I'm going to super expensive places. I still think they need to do something with the location. Maybe take the building next door that is empty and get some outdoor seating. You are in Maui, I want to sit outside or at least have open air options. If you're going to do Maui then you gotta do Maui Brewing. Located in Lahaina, Maui, this is the perfect for beer drinkers. The restaurant carries all of their well known brews as well as their seasonal beers. Amongst their well tasting beer, their food is: da bomb. I ordered the Poke Taco Bowl which was a poke served in a fried wonton bowl. It was amazingly perfect with every bite. The restaurant has an intensive menu selection covering Hawaiian fusion meals and Americana meals. For our main dish we ordered the Pub Plate and the Adult MAC and Cheese. Pub Plate: Kalua pork, rice, and Mac salad. A little pricey but worth every penny. The Kalua was delicious and the Mac salad just improved my buzz. Adult Mac and Cheese: Mac and cheese with chorizo, provolone & Parmesan cheese, truffle oil and cajun spices. They had me a truffle oil. It is so damn good. I took time with that meal only to ensure that my taste buds can reverse engineer this masterpiece. Here's the most ingenious part of this brewery. If you are eating at the bar is that there's a strip of frozen metal that keeps the beer cold. You can spot it from a far since it's the only frosted white strip located at the bar. I was definitely excited to visit Maui Brewing to try some beers, but our experience there left a lot to be desired. Yes, I am not a regular, but I suppose the expectation of service was a bit too high considering what we were used to as visitors to Maui. In any case, we arrived on a Saturday afternoon looking to try some unique beers and were told that there was a 30 minute wait. I asked about sitting at the bar, which was dependent if we could find a seat. Luckily there was one at the corner that I could spot out, so we sat there. I got the bartender's attention, hoping to get a menu describing the beers or to potentially order some snacks, but was met with "the beer board is over there *point*." Okay, no worries, but I did see other patrons at the bar be offered a menu right away, as well as being chatted up. We ultimately ended up getting a flight, where we wrote down what we wanted (Maui Lime Lager, Pineapple Mana, Pomo Life, Coconut Hiwa) - all of which had a fruit flavor added to the beer, which was unique. They were all alright - not fruit forward, which was okay - and I enjoyed the Coconut Hiwa and Pono Life, which had passion fruit. I also asked for an iced water, which I never got, since it was a hot day and I had to drive a while after. I wasn't really acknowledged or checked on, and had to ask for the check, even though parties on either side of me had the attention of the bartender. The restaurant was really busy. They do not take reservations but there is a waitlist in which you must be present for. They do not take names over the phone. The atmosphere is kinda fun. back for our second visit (earlier 2018) and it was still a solid evening. We had a bit of a wait (30 minutes) which isn't too back on Maui. They were still at half capacity, so there was lots of open space. Beers were very good, with some interesting new ones since last time. Maui brewing company is a must try during your visit to the island! If you don't like beer, they have cider and a few wine options as well. Unlike many places in Maui, this facility is spacious therefore a good establishment for big groups. We stopped in after spending the morning on the beach to watch the Niner's play. If you're looking to catch a game, I suggest sitting at the bar as the TV screens are pretty far away from the table seating. You'll get it a much better view sitting at the bar. One thing that really stood out to me about Maui brewing company was the friendliness of the staff. I understand working/living in tourist hotspot like Maui, a Kama'aina could quickly/easily be left jaded after dealing with so many tourists. That was what I experienced in most establishments on the island, but not Maui Brewing company! The bar staff was patient, friendly and attentive. The food came pretty quickly after we ordered even though it was almost a full house. We had a couple flights of different beers just to try out the flavors. Some of the flavors were a little adventurous for beer but it was fun to try their exotic flavors. We got just a couple orders of bites to go with our drinks. The Tots Dynamite was a delicious mess of beer cheese sauce, jalapenos, green onion, kimchi aoli, onions and garlic. I highly recommend this appetizer! The second appetizer was an island twist on samosas filled with sweet potato and some other ingredients I can't recall, but it was equally as delicious and came with Thai sweet chili sauce. Maui Brewing company is a clean, spacious, friendly, air conditioned restaurant with friendy staff and delicious food. It's located in a shopping center so the parking is plenty and free. We yelped for a restaurant close to our condo, and found Maui Brewing Company (MBC) less than half a mile away. Coincidently, our waiter at Lahaina Fish Company (LFC) advised us that the brewery was not far away and worth a visit. It's a bustling atmosphere with a polished concrete floor. The room is fairly large and the tables are well spaced out. It's a little noisy, but comfortable. They have beer keg lamp shades hanging from the ceiling and small beer keg sconce lights on the walls. The restaurant is clean and they restrooms were as well. We were greeted and seated quickly, by a very friendly hostess. Shortly thereafter a woman came by and offered us beverages - which we happily ordered. I got the Big Swell IPA - A West Coast Style IPA with a full bodied hoppy flavor. My wife had the Bikini Blonde - which is a lighter style. We actually had the same beers the night before at LFC. When our waiter (Thoma) came to the table we asked a couple of questions and he did not seem to be very knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Fish Taco Plate and my wife had the Bacon Mac & Cheese. The Fish Tacos were very good. The fish (I think it was Mahi-mahi) was really moist and perfectly cooked and filled the tortilla. The sauce was a little spicy but not hot. The Mac & Cheese hand a great cheesy and bacony flavor and was hot! Unfortunately, the macaroni was overcooked - but was good nonetheless. The waiter was pretty much non-existent after we received our food. Having been a restaurant manager for many years it's a habit to always monitor what's going on. I noticed one particular staff member that was EVERYWHERE doing everything. She was the one who offered us the beverages early on. She was carrying boxes, picking up plates, seating people, talking to guests, etc, etc, etc. She is one of the hardest working people I have ever seen in a restaurant. Her name is Ti and it turns out that she is the manager. But She deserves a nod for her awesome hard work!!! On the way out you can purchase some MBC Logo items - Glasses, shirts etc. I did. Listen, this isn't the best food I've ever had (the food was great, don't get me wrong) nor was it the best beer I've ever had (the coconut porter was pretty delish) but the service really stood out for sure. Stopped in here one night for drinks and a quick bite. My husband loves trying new breweries and he definitely wanted to bet a shirt. They have a great variety of beers. I feel like anyone would be able to find something they like. I'm a cider drinker and they even had a cider, which made me happy. We ordered the loaded tots. Omg they were amazing. Came here after swinging by the West side of Maui for a few days and saw the place had raving reviews. Unfortunately, we never had a chance to enjoy any of the food. We walked in and seated ourselves and wait staff came to give us a menu. The space itself was odd and the entire place felt sticky and smelled stale. 20 minutes after sitting down we hadn't received any service, attention, or follow-up. I rarely leave poor reviews but the entire experience was too poor where we actually ended up driving 20 minutes away to find another restaurant. The flights are $12-14. They had so many on draft to pick from, and we wanted to try some before buying cans to-go. Loved the coconut porter and pineapple mana. The rest were pretty good (except the pineapple chi chi - it's straight up dole pineapple syrup if you're into that). We went around dinner time and the wait was about 30-40 minutes. I recommend going at an off time if possible. The food and service were so slow that it took 15 minutes to even get a waiter to our table, but it didn't bother us because we saw how understaffed they were and totally understood. Just be patient and nice, because the beers are worth it! As for the food, it was below average and I would not recommend the ceviche - probably one of the worst we've tried. Happy Hour!!! People are more than 6 feet apart and and there are high ceilings overhead. So, to begin with we feel safe here with their Covid precautions. Truly an excellent deal - especially at happy hour. We just happened to show up during Happy Hour. Yay team!!! I am not a beer drinker, but they brew their own root beer (non-alcoholic), and it is tasty. My partner had an Imperial Coconut Porter. It had toasted coconut overtones and a chocolate flavor with 9.4% alcohol (more like a wine). Then to top it all off, we had Kalua Ice Cream Cake. The waitress warned us that it was large. She asked if we wanted 2 spoons. I am glad she warned us. It was big and rich!!! Don't attempt to eat it by yourself. It was really rich!. We rolled in right when they opened on a Wednesday before we left Maui to get some beer and snacks. I love drinking the flagship brews that Maui puts out but this gave me a chance to try a little of everything. They have a great selection and going with flights was an awesome way to try everything. Probably one of the cheaper beers I got on the island as well. The food was great! I can't remember the name of it but the baked brie item was incredible. I fully support eating 10 of those. The nachos were okay but there was plenty of them as a snack and the poke tacos were also really good.
