I was not a big fan of poke bowls until now. Theirs are VERY fresh and you can customize anyway you want. I went by for a 2nd time with my daughter for dinner (20 min till close) and they were still so nice and friendly. Most small businesses want you to take your food and go when they are ready to close but the owner talked to us about each dish and his enthusiasm and love for how fresh ibis dishes are just shine. Poké is probably my favorite food. Being landlocked, DFW is not really a hotspot for fresh fish needed to make this the right way. I have been to at least a half dozen other spots throughout the area, but I keep coming back to this one. The owners are soooooooo nice and really go the extra mile to ensure you have a great experience. I always do the build-your-own bowl and load up on all the toppings. It is a steal for around 11 bucks. Have the owner do the combo wasabi/spicy aioli on top as your sauce choice.....great combo. The other thing that sets this place apart is the coconut jasmine rice. It is so aromatic and flavorful.....hard for me to imagine enjoying pokè without it now. Really disappointed in Maui Fresh Grill. I have ordered many, many times here before, even went in person to order and have always had a great experience in the past, with quality. I ordered a large poke bowl via Doordash (which I have done many times in the past), and the poke "bowl" was in a styrofoam box instead of their usual nice bowls, (hence the name) the base ingredient of white rice that I ordered showed up as all mixed lettuce greens with a tablespoon of white rice at the bottom? That has never been the case....Only one protein, even when I requested two and that I am happy to pay for the additional protein....portions are much less than they were before, so spending over $18 for a "large" poke bowl has lost it's value and appeal for me. This is my new favorite spot to eat. Food is delicious and staff is kind and wonderful. Portions are generous. The beef was cooked to perfection. The dessert tasted like a sneakers combined with a cinnamon roll and ice cream on top with peanuts, yet it was not overwhelming. The bubba tea had great flavor and just the right amount of sugar. I love this place, always clean and super nice staff! The poke here is awesome. This is probably the only poke place I've been to that doesn't limit the number of toppings you get with each order. Fish is flavorful and toppings are fresh and delicious. You don't get an "ice cream" scoop of fish, you actually get a real amount of fish to fill you up! I go here at least once a week. Reasonably price. Only complaint is the boba is good but the tea itself isn't great. It's all premade and poured as ordered. read more

I went with a lunch date, I got the chicken teriyaki bowl and he went with the tuna poke bowl. My chicken teriyaki bowl was fairly bland, but not terrible. The poke bowl was not good. The toppings they have are strange and the tuna didn't appear to be fresh. Overall the poke bowl wasn't good and went unfinished. We love poke, so if that's what you're looking for there are plenty of poke focused places in the area. The staff was friendly and the place looked nice. I really want this place to succeed. Unfortunately, it was a hit or miss for us. For the good: We loved the chicken katsu on the kids menu. Please make it an option under the main entree section, not just a side item. It is THAT good. We also devoured the double decker spam Masubi. The acceptable: the salmon poke bowl was good but the house sauce ought to be served on the side. It was overly dressed by the person behind the counter and thus made it hard for us to control the heat. For us, it was alittle too spicy. Now for the not so good: although the loco moco burger patty had a nice char on the outside, the inside had an unappealing texture. If they can learn from constructive criticism and make necessary improvements, we will certainly become regulars. We wish you much success. read more

I found the portion of tuna to other ingredients to be appropriate, and the standard sauce was applied in a proper amount. This was my first musubi, and I really enjoyed it.
