We stopped in for a late lunch. It's bigger inside then what you would think. There is a kiosk where you can place your order or you have the option of ordering at the counter with a staff member. We decided to have someone take our order in case we had any questions. I'm not a fan of the order kiosks anyway. We ordered an appetizer sampler, #7 combo with pork/chicken, and a #10 with shrimp. We paid and were given a receipt with a number and Styrofoam cups for the beverages. The food took awhile, about twenty minutes. We weren't in a hurry and they were cooking it as we waited. When it was ready, they called our number and had it waiting at the counter. Although we were dining in, everything was packaged in Styrofoam. We were given packets of sauce and plasticware. The appetizers were okay. They would have been better if they weren't so greasy. The shrimp was a nice size and there was lots of rice. The shrimp however turned out to be dry and overcooked. The rice was dry too as if it had been pulled out of the refrigerator from yesterday and reheated. The salad is really just garnish. It was chopped romaine with a minute amount of carrot and cabbage. It didn't come with any dressing on it or on the side. We paid over forty dollars for food that was subpar. Overall, very disappointing.

I've been here 3 times so far for lunch and all my orders have been to go. Placing an order is very easy, I prefer to call and they usually have it ready within 5-10 minutes which works great. I love teriyaki but not many places offer this in DFW. So far I have only tried the chicken teriyaki plate and spicy chicken teriyaki plate but it has been consistence and overall good in terms of flavor and taste. Only downside I've experienced is that the spicy chicken teriyaki isn't spicy at all. It tastes the same as the regular chicken teriyaki. I would save the extra dollar and just opt for some sriracha on the side or something. All condiments are self service and everyone working there is very friendly. I would recommend checking this out if you're looking for a new teriyaki spot

I really enjoy the meals when I order lunch from this place! It has always been fresh and taste great! Customer service was great with a short wait time on my lunch hour. Overall this a place I will definitely frequent!!

Today Special: Chicken, half rice/half salad, egg roll & drink!

Don't judge a book by it's cover... the signs on the outside are a little worn out and the windows are dark but as soon as you step in it's busy, clean and a great lunch spot. Many different options but decided to get the "Today Special" Chicken, half rice/half salad, egg roll & drink for $14.50. So filling and so much delicious chicken and I made 2 meals out of it. Found our new lunch spot when we're in the area!

All those who know me, hold on to all things you hold dear! I ordered yaki udon chicken stir fry with oyster sauce (plus onion, snow peas, carrots, bell peppers and sprouts). No the world is NOT coming to an end and I didn't caused the stock markets to fall from this meal (I don't think). The timing? Maybe... This was ordered for delivery and was on time plus very well packed. HUGE order! Scrumptious aroma! Huge perfect noodles! Delicious stir fried veggies. Super tasting grilled chicken! The white rice was over the top good! Excellent price! Seriously, this meal would feed two normal people or 1 Ray. It was beyond amazing in looks, taste, texture and aroma! For delivery, I have made this a favorite! Price was spot on!

Best restaurant in Irving, TX! Visited Koriyaki with colleagues for lunch as it is conveniently located near work. It offers wide variety of options that can satisfy everyone. Staffs are very attentiive as well. I had chicken katsu meal, and my colleagues had short ribs plate and tofu plate. They were all cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!

Number 1 combo. Grilled chicken. Includes a drink.

Good food. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. I've lived here for years and never knew it was here. I will be back.

I used to work across the street but this place didnt pop up on my radar. Now that I work farther away, of course, this pops up on a radar. How ironic. Anyway, I got the short ribs to go, the meat cut was thick and good. I don't recommend it for lunch if you have to eat fast for work or infront of people. Since it was so thick, it took quite a bit of chewing. Flavor was good and you get a lot. Every plate comes with rice and salad.

Combination Pork & Beef Koriyaki Plate ($10)

Had an hour for lunch so I came by Friday to order takeout from here. The place is pretty easy to find and in a small little plaza. From first impression, the interior looks great! It feels very open and there's lots of tables available for seating, as well as a bar-like seating area. You order up front, and drinks and silverware are in the back. I ordered the Combination Pork + Beef (~$10) with brown rice (+$0.99) and combo (spring roll and drink, +$2.50). The first thing I immediately noted was how GREAT the meat was! While I got more beef than I did pork (about 75% beef), both were cooked very well (no pink inside) and tender. You can see the juices from the meat and the seasoning here is on point - flavorful but not overwhelming or Smokey (I'm not a big fan of Smokey flavors). On top of that, the brown rice and small side salad were both fresh and complemented the meat quite well. Overall, great place to come grab a bite! I would highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a chill lunch (they close at 4). PROS: - spacious interior with plenty of tables and bar-type seating - clean feel overall; store is well maintained - easy ordering process & quick service - juicy and tender meat that's not too powerful or smokey - fresh ingredients and add-ons - good value for the price CONS: - none! :)

Sashimi was great and fresh. The pan fried pork belly has good seasoning but quite salty. We took it home to eat with rice. Pork cutlet was very dry. Wings were dry too, not juicy. Tonkotsu ramen tasted good and salty too. The servers were nice. I do think they expect you to know your order already to make a quick turnaround since there were constant ppl waiting at the door. Short wait on a weekday right when the doors open (in 100+ degree summer heat). But I don't think it was amazing and felt hyped up to me. Prob would not come again if you have to wait in similar heat.

When I walked in, the place was empty. I stood at the "Please wait to be seated" sign for way longer than necessary--especially since there were no other customers. I finally peeked in and saw two employees busy counting receipts and money at the register. (Bad Impression #1). After being seated, I was actually enjoying the music until I felt something sticky on my forearm. It was a stray bean sprout left on the table (Bad Impression #2). To make matters worse, the tables are incredibly low. Even at my height, I had to hunch over the entire time. I eventually gave up on table manners and just held the rice bowl up to my face to eat comfortably. Regarding the food: it was a bit salty. The kimchi fried rice was average, but the kimchi stew really missed the mark. That was the moment I realized this is a fusion spot, not authentic Korean. It wasn't horrible, but it's definitely different from the real thing. BUT, can we talk about the massive portions? (Good Impression #1). Everything is clearly meant to be shared. The service was actually good. They have a buzzer on the table for service, which I loved. It saves you from having to track down a waiter. (Good Impression #2). The ambiance is loud, poppy, and "hip." You better like K-pop if you're coming here. It's not a first-date spot because it's hard to hear each other, but it's a solid place to hang out with friends who like the genre. Will I come back? Not actively. But if someone else suggests it, I won't fight them on it.

But while this is a very prestigious endorsement, my past visit wasn't up to previous visits. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - There are several tables with built in grills and private rooms, and we didn't use our grill, but I was a bit uncomfortable in the restaurant. It was really hot in the restaurant, and I'm not sure they turned down the A/C. Aside from that, the restaurant is nice and clean. You can also check the meat display case for the beef and pork cuts on display. 1/2 Star. Service - Our server was very nice. He brought out water and another server brought all the wonderful Korean sides. The service was superb and is a reason they would have landed in D Magazine's Best issue. 1 Star. Food - The menu has been updated, and prices have gone up (everywhere). But my main issue was the Kalbi wasn't very tender. In fact, I had to use my hands to pull the meat from the bone. Granted, I always use this technique when eating Kalbi, but this time it took more effort. The marinated, grilled beef still had a delicious, sweet Korean flavor, and the Seafood Pancake is a must order. Overall, though, I've had a better experience in my past visits. 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I've been going to Koryo for years. I hope their recognition in D Magazine wasn't a signal for them that they've made it and stopped trying. I'm pretty loyal and will come back, and I hope they improve. 1 Star.
