Third or fourth time here at this particular location might go to location is Alhambra. I do like this location though just for a different scenery for dinner on a Saturday night around 8 o'clock there was no wait time, which was great and surprising. Service was good. Food was delicious as always not much to say because I love gen kbbq it's always satisfying

    Lychee soju cocktail- fantastic!

I finally used a gift card I got for Christmas. This place usually has a huge line outside, which is why I avoid it. My husband and I stopped in at 3pm last Friday and there was no line. The service was quick. The prices are reasonable for all you can eat. I especially loved the fried fish appetizer, the bulgogi beef, and the brisket. I enjoyed the potato salad, but my husband was not a fan. The salad was good, but not necessary. Id rather enjoy everything else haha. What stole the show was the lychee soju cocktail! So good! My husband and I shared a pitcher and were blown alway with how tasty it was. We will be back again during mellow hours.

Tucked away with an inviting warmth, Gen offers an experience that feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into a well-run, thoughtful home. From the moment you arrive, the staff sets the tone with genuine hospitality--guiding guests through the menu with care, clarity, and an impressive attention to detail. What stands out most is their attentiveness to individual preferences. Dietary restrictions, allergies, and personal tastes are not treated as afterthoughts, but as essential elements of the experience. The team demonstrates a clear commitment to tailoring each dish, ensuring that every guest enjoys a meal suited precisely to them. The space itself is impeccably maintained, creating a comfortable and relaxed environment ideal for lingering over good conversation and even better food. For those seeking a dining experience that combines cleanliness, customization, and heartfelt service, Gen is well worth the visit--your palate will thank you. Cheers The Dutchman

Second day of burn on wrist

We went out with friends. Service was slow, felt intentional that they did super small portions for such a large group and then took roughly 30 minutes in between the portions so everybody was impatiently waiting to get any food in them. The waiter was changing the grill pan and literally dropped hot oil all over husbands arm burning him. He apologized gave him a napkin and then walked away. Did not check on him again. Husbands arm has 2nd degree burns on it. He had to go ask the front desk for burn cream and was not asked why they just handed it over. I'm assuming this is a common occurance. Got up and almost slipped on all the oil that is all over the floors. Bathrooms were gross. Literally dirt peeling off the women's doors inside. 0 out of 5 stars for this place.

I've been coming here for YEARS This place a couple years ago was headed downwards and was becoming below average; however, with all of the changes, for the price this is honestly one of the best kbbq places you can get. The meats are very good, they give a good quantity and staff are very attentive. I've had $150/person kbbq places and this still beats it, I would highly recommend to come if you have not been within the past year.

After waiting 15 min they bring us this. Then we'll have to wait another 15 min to get another plate of meat.

Horrendous service. I get it's busy but getting a small plate of meat and then having to wait 15 minutes for the server to come to our table is ridiculous. This isn't true Korean bbq. They have no vents above the table and grill so it's really smoky. I'm Korean and I'm ashamed to say this is a "Korean" bbq restaurant. Now the meat quality. It's horrible. Trust me, this isn't true Korean bbq. The side dishes are very minimal as well. Go to MoRangGak if you want great service and much better meat.

Typical, average food and service. Music is super loud, couldn't hear my own thoughts or the person across or next to me.

Wow how have I not been here after every pay day?? Hands down such a special experience, we set up a work dinner and everyone left so full and the food, service and staff was top notch. I don't mind the cooking, but I highly suggest you ask your party how they like their meat cooked (crispy, medium etc) maybe not everyone has the same cook preferences. For drinks they have a lot of boba and the strawberry milk drink was super sweet but good. You definitely will smell like a beach bonfire after haha, the smoke exhausts pretty well but that's how KBBQ is. I recommend any of the belly meats and the bulgogi, and the bulgogi fries are kinda small but splittable for two. We typically don't order any chicken as that takes a lot of time to cook down, otherwise most pork and beef will cook within minutes. Depends on your night I guess. This place rocks, and I'll definitely be back soon!

Here's the setup for the grills and tables..

The food is great and the service is pretty good but you can wind up waiting for stuff if it's busy. you get your meats on those rectangle trays and you have those chambered dishes for different sauces. they change out the grill pretty frequently on their own but you can also get it done upon request. i haven't loved the mixed drinks. they're all very sweet. their fountain drinks are always high quality with good carbonation to syrup ratio. it's a coke house. one thing to think about is it's very oily in there. i don't think the exhaust system is very good compared to other similar places i've been. the floor is slippery and you leave with your skin and and glasses greasy and your clothes and hair smelling like meat. the four stars is for that.

First night in LA so we decided to check this place out. It was very dark inside and not very busy. My friend had never been to a Korean BBQ so it was an experience for him. We got the premium meals that had a good variety of meats. The food overall was very good. The service on the other hand was eh at best. We ordered the garlic sauce that never came to the table. We said we wanted a bottle of soju that we could share and we were brought 2 bottles. Then we tried to get a small plate of mixed veggies that never came. It was an experience but I don't feel a need to return here.

Friendly staffs, came on a busy Saturday night, food was good, they gave pretty big portions of meats. You can tell the servers were busy, because our grill would burn , but they changed it as soon as they checked up on us. Overall, we had a good experience, restaurant was pretty clean, and we went home full and happy

Food and service were great! All the meats and sides we ordered were fresh and delicious. Also, the manager was so great and checked on us frequently! Unfortunately, devoured our food so fast the only things pictured were these awesome new drinks that will be added to the menu soon (hopefully). Next time, will have to grab some food pics. Definitely recommend this location!

    All day is dinner price.

If you arrive there after 3pm, you will pay dinner price.

Just Coca Cola products (boo 👎🏽)

Someone had said that there is no outside food allowed unfortunately

We ordered 24 wings and split it to try the soy garlic, K-sweet chili and Seoul spicy. Oh my! Generous size and served piping hot. Crunchy outside with tender chicken inside. We often had to get up and look for a server, which made things a bit inconvenient. That said, the food was definitely the highlight. The soy garlic chicken wings were really good flavorful and well-executed. The fries also stood out and were surprisingly one of our favorite items. The ambience is pretty chill, with enough space for everyone to have their own conversations without it feeling too crowded or loud. Overall, the food is worth trying, but just be prepared for slower service, especially during busier times.

    * Who: partner & I * What: random late lunch…read more* When: Saturday a little past noon * Why: hungry after apartment touring * Space/Decor: in a small plaza that had plenty of parking when we arrived. Average space in the sense it's rectangular & like any mom/pop hole in the wall. You step in, tables to your right going all the way back, & left front side has cash register, sweets display, & water dispenser while the rest of the left was the kitchen. Menu was straightforward but could benefit from having a description in case you're not familiar (like my BF). * Service: the reason I'm docking by 1 star. The lady was nice, but not very attentive, & it wasn't like it was busy. We needed to ask or follow up on 2-3 things. My BF was eyeing some dessert when we were first ordering but she didn't try to sell it to us ‍ * Food: surprisingly good as it was both our first time there. He got the adobo bowl & the chicken was tender/juicy & pretty much fell off the bone. I got the tocino plate & the meat was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic in the rice. We also got one chicken skewer & one pork skewer, which was a bit smaller than I'm used to but the smoky flavor & tenderness was spot on. My only issue was the portion compared to the price. * Final Thoughts: mom/pop Filipino food that is great on flavor but leaves something to be desired with customer service. Would recommend & will return again for the food. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10
