This place is consistent with all the locations I've been too. Really good marinated meats. I got like 8 orders of marinated steak. service was good and everyone enjoyed the food.

Our server was amazing but our experience was terrible. Their AC was out and they didn't have any fans around so it was like 100 degrees in there. To add your cooking your food with all the smoke it made hard to breathe: The girls in front are very Rude. The manager said that it's part of their policy is not to give discounts for their AC being broken. NO FANS OFFERED OR ANYWHERE NEAR!!

We had not been here in many years, but decided to come here before going to the movies at the AMC. The prices have gone up from last time in the menu has significantly changed. We came here during a time that was too late for being lunch and too early for being dinner so we had no issues being seated on a weekend. The ambience remains the same with very modern dark and neon colors inside. Our server was super friendly and helpful, guiding us through the new menu items. They no longer place everything on the table as they used to you have to order what you actually want. They still don't have the fish cakes back, but they have other options. The portions are big, but you can ask for half portions. Our grill had an issue where it would heat up too much and it became a fire hazard. This also made it so that the grill had to be replaced more frequently which they did. Overall, we had a really good experience and my boyfriend really love the Al pastor tacos. They also have multiple rise options that they used to not have. Comparing A prices to other Korean barbecues. They are still on the lower part of the range and I think it's a good value for what you get. We will most likely be back when we go back to the movies.

Tucked away with an inviting warmth, Gen offers an experience that feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into a well-run, thoughtful home. From the moment you arrive, the staff sets the tone with genuine hospitality--guiding guests through the menu with care, clarity, and an impressive attention to detail. What stands out most is their attentiveness to individual preferences. Dietary restrictions, allergies, and personal tastes are not treated as afterthoughts, but as essential elements of the experience. The team demonstrates a clear commitment to tailoring each dish, ensuring that every guest enjoys a meal suited precisely to them. The space itself is impeccably maintained, creating a comfortable and relaxed environment ideal for lingering over good conversation and even better food. For those seeking a dining experience that combines cleanliness, customization, and heartfelt service, Gen is well worth the visit--your palate will thank you. Cheers The Dutchman

Third or fourth time here at this particular location might go to location is Alhambra. I do like this location though just for a different scenery for dinner on a Saturday night around 8 o'clock there was no wait time, which was great and surprising. Service was good. Food was delicious as always not much to say because I love gen kbbq it's always satisfying

    Lychee soju cocktail- fantastic!

I finally used a gift card I got for Christmas. This place usually has a huge line outside, which is why I avoid it. My husband and I stopped in at 3pm last Friday and there was no line. The service was quick. The prices are reasonable for all you can eat. I especially loved the fried fish appetizer, the bulgogi beef, and the brisket. I enjoyed the potato salad, but my husband was not a fan. The salad was good, but not necessary. Id rather enjoy everything else haha. What stole the show was the lychee soju cocktail! So good! My husband and I shared a pitcher and were blown alway with how tasty it was. We will be back again during mellow hours.

Megan is an outstanding representation of good service. We came on my birthday at 12 pm on a Saturday to experience a great time and we sat down around noon and she was quick to get our order and ensure our happiness. Our food order came out immediately and she came out with the rest of our sides and utensils however we lagged a bit on the drinks and by the time our meals were cooked for serving she made an immediate observation that the bartender was falling behind and I witnessed her going above and beyond and getting behind the counter and made our drinks for us without having to ask. Megan and her team are a great representation of teamwork and understanding the rest wasn't all quite in yet, she did above and beyond and to make my birthday experience one to remember

I've been coming here for YEARS This place a couple years ago was headed downwards and was becoming below average; however, with all of the changes, for the price this is honestly one of the best kbbq places you can get. The meats are very good, they give a good quantity and staff are very attentive. I've had $150/person kbbq places and this still beats it, I would highly recommend to come if you have not been within the past year.

Second day of burn on wrist

We went out with friends. Service was slow, felt intentional that they did super small portions for such a large group and then took roughly 30 minutes in between the portions so everybody was impatiently waiting to get any food in them. The waiter was changing the grill pan and literally dropped hot oil all over husbands arm burning him. He apologized gave him a napkin and then walked away. Did not check on him again. Husbands arm has 2nd degree burns on it. He had to go ask the front desk for burn cream and was not asked why they just handed it over. I'm assuming this is a common occurance. Got up and almost slipped on all the oil that is all over the floors. Bathrooms were gross. Literally dirt peeling off the women's doors inside. 0 out of 5 stars for this place.

First night in LA so we decided to check this place out. It was very dark inside and not very busy. My friend had never been to a Korean BBQ so it was an experience for him. We got the premium meals that had a good variety of meats. The food overall was very good. The service on the other hand was eh at best. We ordered the garlic sauce that never came to the table. We said we wanted a bottle of soju that we could share and we were brought 2 bottles. Then we tried to get a small plate of mixed veggies that never came. It was an experience but I don't feel a need to return here.

Friendly staffs, came on a busy Saturday night, food was good, they gave pretty big portions of meats. You can tell the servers were busy, because our grill would burn , but they changed it as soon as they checked up on us. Overall, we had a good experience, restaurant was pretty clean, and we went home full and happy

How much is the 2 meat meal and the 4meat meal? Does the 4 meat meal feed two people?

Good Morning Russell, Hope this message finds you well.…

On Fridays do they only have dinner available ? Or is lunch price also available

    All day is dinner price.

On the menu, it saids lunch from Monday to Thursday (except holidays) from open till 3pm but dinner from Friday to Sunday from 3pm to close. My question is if I go there on Thursday after 3pm, do I pay lunch price, or dinner price?

If you arrive there after 3pm, you will pay dinner price.

    Is there fountain drinks?

Just Coca Cola products (boo 👎🏽)

Do they allow outside food for small kids that are not eating kbbq?

Someone had said that there is no outside food allowed unfortunately

Is it still $30.00 for dinner time on weekdays?

    no its a39

How do I join the waiting list?

    There is no waiting list

    Do you offer gift cards?

    Yes

    Do they allow Solo Diners?

    Yes

    Do kids eat free?

    Yes

    Do they have Happy hour?

They don't have happy hour they just have lunch and dinner and the drinks just come when you ask for the alcohol if you want more

    Can you split the check?

    Yes

My 10 year old is a picky eater and won't eat any of this food. Can I bring a happy meal for him inside the restaurant while hubby and I eat or will we also be charged for him?

    No outside food

    Can I make reservations?

No, you can use the Yelp app and check in but all your party must be present.

Do you have check in by yelp?

    Yes you can check in

Did they get rid of the online check in option?

They did but you can still call them to get an estimated wait time before heading over which I always find helpful

    Do they take apple pay?

    Yes

    How much is per person?

So lunch time is around $23.99 and dinner is 28.99 I believe not too much of a difference...Hope that helped!!

I have a group of 8 how do I get a table prior if there's no reservations?

You need to put your name in and once all your party arrives they will seat you.

Do you have a table for 7?

    Yes

Soy garlic was my favorite, it's an absolute must order, packed with flavor. They also have an AYCE pricing available as an option. Went on a Friday night around 9pm and thankfully it wasn't crazy busy at the time I went. Bulgogi tacos were really good, soft and moist! The soju paired so well with the chicken, zero sugar and very refreshing. Going to go searching for the soju in store now because I've never had this brand before & really loved it. The workers were so sweet. Highly recommended and will be returning for more delicious chicken!

There is a small lot out front for parking, and I suspect you can park on the street when the lot fills up. We happened to come by during the Korea vs. Mexico game, and understandably, the place gets packed, with a line forming outside. We somehow beat the rush by about 30 minutes and were seated at a table as soon as we entered. We also realized then that they didn't have the all-you-can-eat option, so we ended up ordering the chicken wings, their version of loaded fries, and steamed rice. We also placed the order via the QR code. We had our drinks delivered to our table shortly afterward. The food, however, was taking a long time to get to our table. It may have been a combination of the FIFA World Cup and a staff shortage, but when we were there, there was only 1 kitchen staff member and 1 wait staff member. The lady on the wait staff did everything from serving food to accepting new customers and topping off water for all the tables. A wall separates the restaurant; there is a front room and an inside room, and both rooms had televisions broadcasting the game. The food itself was decent for the price that they charge. The chicken wings came out piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside. They have some options for different wing flavors. The fries were also delicious and well-fried. I hope the restaurant invests in more wait staff because there were times we needed something from the wait staff. Seeing how busy she was, or sometimes she's just in the front room, we haven't seen her in a while to get whatever we needed. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere is very unique; it's definitely a nice place to get some Korean street food when you're in the area. The only things to note are that parking is limited, food will take a while to cook as it is made fresh, and there will be some waiting to be done if you need wait staff. Last thing to note: I love that they had some Korean Fusion dishes, and I wish I had a bigger stomach to try these as well during our visit, perhaps another time!

Rarely checked on us throughout the meal, our grill was changed once, and never came by to offer drink refills. The food quality has also gone downhill. The rice cup portions are drastically smaller than they used to be, and the meat quality was poor. It feels like the restaurant's overall operation and standards have really declined. For the price, this experience was unacceptable, and unfortunately we won't be returning. I don't recommend it at all!!!!!!
