Not what I'm used to and clearly not enough
    K C.

Not impressed. After waiting 20 minutes they called me up and asked if I wanted brown rice in my spam musbi cause they ran out of rice. Then the chicken kayak was really light like it wasn't cooked long enough and there was no flavor to it. The beef smelled and looked funny and didn't have a lot of the BBQ on it like I was use to. I got my money back for the spam musbi and the rest I saw when I opened the box. Not impressed and not happy with the food. Not sure what time you close but either make more rice or tell the people prior to you taking an order you are out of stuff this way I can choose something else for dinner instead of something that was unsatisfactory. Restaurant is always clean though hence the 2 stars.

Replaced food after complaint with same fish

I went to Maui Hawaiian BBQ because I've been there before and the food was good but this time I went I was disgusted my food had mold on a lemon and instead of overreacting I went in calmly for them to remake my food. For them to only replace the molded part and I know this because I took before and after photos and they replaced the food too quickly to remake the whole meal fresh

    Menu as of 4/8/25.

Pretty dependable Hawaiian Plate Lunches. I really like that they have a Lau Lau plate that comes with 2 Lau Laus, rice, and mac salad.

Very clean and well decorated with Maui vibes! Huge menu, lots of choices. I got bbq chicken with rice and Mac salad. The chicken said it was "breast" on the menu but it was thighs. They were chewy, and had no sauce. The Mac salad was great. I think if you know what to order, it's a great place. Very good service.

Open for business but don't come cause they won't serve you.

I stop at this location to purchase food, I was informed that cook was sent home early cause business is slow and the owner refuses to serve me because she has no cashiers, what restaurant keeps open for business if you sent the employees home to save money?

We called the order in for pick up and it was hot and ready when we arrived. The problem was the food, they are not an authentic hawaiian food. The Katzu was ok but dry. It did come with generous portions for the price and had 2 scoops of white rice and a small container of macaroni salad. The big issue was really the Garlic Shrimp? This was not Garlic Shrimp, this was fried shrimp on a bed of cabbage with scallions and garlic or something grated over the top. This was not Garlic Shrimp and I checked menu for another type of shrimp to see if maybe the order was incorrect. So this place offers nothing special to make you want to come sit in, does not have great food so will be a hard pass. Again staff pleasant, courteous just not good food.

Went here for the first time, and the food was delicious. 1. Garlic shrimp - so crunchy and juicy. Not what I was expecting but very ono. I was expecting the garlic shrimp scampi where you have to peel the shrimp. 2. Garlic chicken - Definitely, enjoy eating food when I can get all messy even with something as simple as this. 3. Loco moco- very interesting to me that the sauce was separate. I definitely appreciate that I can pour the sauce myself but I honestly like my loco moco drenched in gravy. Something about it feels so comforting and makes your belly feel all nice and warm inside.

My favorite is usually ribs and this Kalbi was no different. Fell right off the bone and had such a delicious flavor. The chicken was juicy and perfectly marinated and barbecued. The beef had a delicious marinade as well, but it was a bit tough, still good though. I usually eat this plate/platter for two different meals or split this with a friend. While the food was delicious, the wait time was a bit long for to-go. We only had one person ahead of us and it took over 25 minutes for our one order to be ready. Ordering ahead over the phone would probably be the best idea for the future. Really easy otherwise to get in and out as there is plenty of parking on the plazas lot. Overall the menu options here are the same as other Hawaiian BBQ chains in SD. Nothing crazy different. Happy to have another convenient spot to go to!

I got the fish tacos and my friend got the pork fries, and honestly I feel like the food was just okay. The portions were smaller than anticipated, the fish tacos and chips were both very dry. I didn't try my friend's food but she reported them being really good, so this is likely a one-off thing! Overall, would recommend for someone who is visiting Oceanside.

Scanned the QR code on the big banner from the outside and checked out their menu. Saw lumpia and thought it was a Filipino spot). It was a relaxing, chill atmosphere with lots of tvs. The server, Jaz was really nice, friendly and very hospitable. She spoke of their Guamanian food, heritage and community. They've been in the current spot for the last 7 or 8 months, so fairly new, but were down the street for many years before that. We ordered 2 different kinds of BBQ chicken wings. Two orders of the sweet chili glazed (Pine Doni) and one of the other which was like a honey bbq glazed style. All were supposed to have 6 wings, but the honey BBQ one had 5 (?). The sweet chili was our fave of the two. Their chicken empanadas were huge, and served 3 per dish, were delicious and crispy, with an aioli like sauce with a wonderful kick. The spam roll was a masubi-like and was good (husband said it was the best he's ever had). The side of mac salad had great flavor! Jaz brought us some red rice to try on the house and it was really good! It reminded me of Vietnamese chicken rice, with chicken broth infused into the rice, making it really tasty and savory. First time having Guamanian food and we're stoked we tried it! All in all, great food and awesome service! If you've never tried it before...put it on your list! You won't regret it!

We started off with the chicken kelaguen which had the perfect amount of flavor and tanginess with the red rice staple. I do wish I got more rice in the chicken to rice ratio, but it was good regardless. Shortly after we got our empanadas (the whole reason I wanted to go here). I had been craving them for weeks and it didn't disappoint. The filling was the delicious and the crust was perfectly crunchy. We then shared the Guam bomb which was a pretty decently sized plate. I appreciated how crunchy the fries were, especially since the amount of sauce on top could have easily made them soggy very quickly. I do wish there was a little more meat but it tasted yummy nonetheless. Our absolute favorite part of the meal was desert. The banana donuts! It came with 4 which was perfectly paired with strawberry ice cream. Overall, super duper happy with another visit to this amazing spot! Hopefully we'll catch them at PIFA San Diego this year

It's always been on the expensive side, but seeing one oxtail plate go up to $31 (+tax) makes it hard to justify coming here as often as I used to. The quality is still there, but the higher price means it'll probably be more of once a year meal. One thing to be aware of is that there's a surcharge even when paying with a debit card. Legally you're not supposed to add a charge when using debit card but I paid it anyways. It was an unexpected charge that other customers may want to know about. Ambience was okay. Service was nice. Overall, the food is delicious and worth trying, but between the rising prices and the added card surcharge, I'll likely be visiting once in a blue moon.
