    BBQ pork and Chicken Katsu

It's the closest that I've gotten to the Island, way better than L&L... Price point is amazing, now a days you. an get this hearty of a healthier meal for "fast food" $16! They are super clean, the bathroom were meticulously cleaned. Food was bomb and they have a sauce bar, katsu was on point! Employees very sweet and friendly.

As sad as it sounds, when I think if Hawaiian food, L&L has become the standard I have to compare any other new place against. L&L is by no means great ... it's just a good average to determine if I should go to a new place or stick with what is reliably pretty good. And in that regard, Ono is about on par with that average. You still get a good amount of food for the cost. That price range in similar. They have similar menus. And both the food quality and taste feel close to the same. The Chicken Katsu I had was moist, well cooked, and not too oily, the Spam Misubi was well prepared, and the Mac Salad was pretty top notch in that Hawaiian style that you can expect. So, what can I say that Ono does better? The place itself is cleaner. Katsu sauce is served from a pump station that you can get on your own, which I really do appreciate. And they seem to include steamed vegetables in with their meals along with the white rice; a nice and welcome option. As for what they're missing at Ono, their Misubi selection is limited to the traditional Spam, meaning they dont have Katsu or Sausage Misubi like L&L. There are a few menu items conspicuously missing from Ono, like Moco Loco, the Saiman Noodles, or even burgers for kids that aren't game on trying something new. And if I'm being picky, the portions are probably a little smaller (though that's probably a good thing in the grand scheme of things). So, if you're nearby and hungry for a scoop of rice and mac salad with anything you order, Ono can easily satisfy that craving for something salty and sweet. I probably won't go out of my way to come here, but it's certainly a place I won't say no to.

I haven't really been to many Hawaiian restaurants but I dined here with my father and brother for the first time and am very much looking forward to coming back. The store is kept cool during these hot times and well kept with everything clean and organized. Inside you can place your order via self helping kiosk or cashier. we ordered three plates and this is what we got. I order the chicken katsu plate that came with crispy chicken katsu cuts served overtop a bed of cabbage and broccoli with a hefty side of rice and a small side of macaroni salad. my father had the same but the mini plate and my brother had the hawaiian BBQ chicken. The chicken katsu was crispy, juicy and went excellent with the cabbage and broccoli which was also cooked well but i gotta say my favorite thing about the whole meal was the macaroni salad. yes.. the macaroni salad that is unlike any other mac salad i have ever eaten was so good i can't stop thinking about it and it's been days. they also serve really good spam musubi too. I find the prices for the amount of food they give you to be more than fair and the next time i go back i'm getting extra mac salad and musubi to go.

I came here at first for the grand opening so I can get the bogo deal. This time I came to redeem the lovely coupons they gave me. I redeemed the free spam musubi so delicious and so filling! I also redeemed the free young coconut. It was so refreshing for that hot day! I bought the guava pie. It tastes so good, like a way better pop tart! The last thing I redeemed was the bogo coupon. I bought the bbq combo and the katsu combo. The grilled chicken and beef were so good. So much food and plenty to take home for another meal or to share. I forgot to take pictures of the combos because I was so hungry. I gave the chicken katsu to my friend and he enjoyed the crunchy deliciousness. Also enough for another meal or to share. Pretty clean restaurant with great service and plenty of sauces!

Ono Hawaiian BBQ is always a solid choice. I tried the chicken katsu, Hawaiian BBQ chicken, and shrimp, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and filling. This location is also really nice and modern inside. It's definitely more updated than some other Ono locations I've been to. The staff was great and friendly as well. Good food, generous portions, and an overall great experience! :)

I had some opening day coupons to use so I came for dinner & it was all very yummy! I tried plate #44 chicken katsu & bbq I asked for double Mac & rice and my coupon was for a free musibi & a young coconut drink both were sooo yummy! I also tried the guava pop tart by the register that was amazing also!

    Love this hot sauce!

Ono finally opened! I got the #44 (BBQ/Katsu Mix) so I could try a little bit of everything. The katsu was crispy and well seasoned. The bbq was yum and the veggies were a nice and fresh addition to my meal. I'd come back again! Give this place a try!

What a wonderful grand opening! I really enjoyed the live entertainment especially the dancers. Tropical fun vibes were everywhere in celebration of this new business. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming especially those at the counter taking orders. And of course, my food was sooo yummy bursting with Island flavors. Ono!! It made me want to take a trip to Hawaii. I'll be back to try the other Aloha-style dishes. I definitely recommend Ono Hawaiian BBQ to the Yelp Community :-)

Not as good as the L&L in San Marcos. Very tight space and the Macaroni salad was mediocre.

So I keep trying new spots hoping one finally hits. I'd driven past Urban Teri Kitchen a bunch of times taking my kids to practices and games and finally decided to stop in. Didn't even check Yelp first. Just went in blind based on a good feeling about the place. Glad I did. I ordered the half-and-half with chicken teriyaki and katsu, and honestly it was one of the better teriyaki plates I've had anywhere around here. The chicken was flavorful, the katsu was crispy without being greasy, and everything tasted fresh. It's a little pricier than some teriyaki spots, but the quality backs it up. My wife and I could easily split one order next time. I came in around 4 PM, so it wasn't packed, but the people inside looked happy, the restaurant was clean, and the whole place just had a really good vibe. Sometimes you can tell within a minute whether a place cares about what they're doing, and this felt like one of those spots. There's a reason they've got 4.7 stars. If anything, I'd say that rating is deserved.

The place is, of course, decorated with an island vibe (just like the restaurants in Guam but a little bit fancier-as well as the price), coupled with an island music playlist. Overall we gave a 3.5 stars for the food because having tried the "real deal" in Guam, we haven't found anything like it here in the mainland US. Our server was very attentive even when it was pretty busy on a Sunday lunch and he was working by himself.

It's always been on the expensive side, but seeing one oxtail plate go up to $31 (+tax) makes it hard to justify coming here as often as I used to. The quality is still there, but the higher price means it'll probably be more of once a year meal. One thing to be aware of is that there's a surcharge even when paying with a debit card. Legally you're not supposed to add a charge when using debit card but I paid it anyways. It was an unexpected charge that other customers may want to know about. Ambience was okay. Service was nice.
