My wife and I were passing through Madison late at night on 06/25/2026 on our way to Tennessee when one of the front calipers on my car broke. The wheel locked up and the car was undrivable. I stayed the night in Madison. The first thing I did when I woke up was call around trying to find someone to help us. Maurice was the only one who answered. I was able to contact him at around 8 am on a Friday (06/26), and was back on the road by around 12 - 1 pm the same day. Maurice was very transparent about the issue with our car, was both professional and kind, and did not overcharge. Our situation could have turned out much different. Under the circumstances, this outcome was the best case scenario. We contacted them to jump my mothers car which they did. They charged us $185 and now refuse to provide a receipt for the transaction for insurance purposes. Maurice and Sons towed my daughter's car on January 18th of this year. They told us it was her battery and alternator. It took them 10 days to complete this job. We were told the car was ready. We drove 2 hours to get the car to wait 8 hours for us to tell them something else was wrong. They did not test drive the car after the initial repair so was not aware that the turbo was not working. We waited another 2 weeks or so for them to fix this problem. As we were driving home the same issue was happening to the car. We were told to drive it home and it would work itself out. A week later we brought the car to the dealer for $180 for them to tell us it was the turbo. We drove the car back up to Maurice & sons to get a replacement. 5 WEEKS LATER and many text messages back and forth the car is done. We get it home and they damaged the front hood! This has been the worst experience in communication and overall satisfaction. I can't believe this. Don't try calling with complaints because they hang up on you. You must go in-person to get anything done. read more

I'll give 10 stars. FIRST FIVE: We were on a trip to eastern Wisconsin when the car overheated late in the afternoon. Maurice got us off the side of the road. SECOND FIVE: At the shop the mechanics promptly got to working on it the next morning. New water pump and thermostat needed. They were smart enough and diligent enough to test it, and another bout of overheating revealed a bad head gasket. Had they not done this, we would have been stranded again. Excellent service and quick response! I called a number of different tow/auto services in Madison, this place was the only place that wasn't rude on the phone, in fact, they were super pleasant and helpful. They also quoted the lowest price for towing. My vehicle broke down in the driveway of my apartment complex, and it was a somewhat tricky situation, but they handled it quickly and perfectly. And the guy who came out was super nice and very skilled and capable. They will definitely be my first call future, hopefully I don't need to call them *knock on wood* I would highly recommend. read more

Our car broke down just outside of Madison. After calling a couple other towing companies & not getting an answer, Maurice's not only answered but called to say they were on their way. Maurice, himself, went out of his way to find us ( confusion on our part where we were actually at) & towed us to the dealer, he help set up a car rental and took us to the airport with the rental office. Maurice & Sons Roadside Rescue showed up to assist an elderly woman stranded in a remote area after we tried unsuccessfully to push her car out of a snowy ditch. They were quick to arrive, professional and very reassuring to the person who was being rescued. As they approached her car we heard them kindly say, "Don't worry, we will take care of you". They came to jump start my car and failed (after I had already tried multiple times), so I knew I needed it towed. They still charged me for the jump start attempts that failed. With this business model, why would they ever try for a successful jump start?! Because when it doesn't work, they can double the tow cost!! read more

I neded a tow. I chose M&S because they were able to tow it to their location and also do my repairs. I was told I needed a wheel bearing, control arm and a new wheel. I asked that they also do the oil change. I am not confident any of the work got done. I was given a total of 600 plus dollars for everything. When I did find out that the car was done I was told that I needed a new wheel to put my tire on. I told them I would look for the rim and get it to them. I had just put four new tires on my car at discount tire, so I knew all of my tires we're good. I said that it would be best to pull off fully assembled, so they waited two days while I located a new wheel. When I went to pick up the car I was not told that they put the new wheel on without replacing the tire, which I had provided in the trunk. Which brings me to my next problem. My trunk no longer opened. It appears there was some type of damage done. The officer on scene can confirm that I opened my trunk. Somehow between then and when I got it back it broke.the No one, mentioned anything about my trunk not being functional. I woke up 2 days later and both of my front wheels were on flat. Again, all four of my tires were brand new. There's no reason any of the four should not have been functional. I then took the car to another mechanic and had to spend another 400 plus dollars on the car. I was in need of tie rods, two, and, to have the tire put on wheel. The wheel that was left on my vehicle was bare, wires poking out. When I called to get resolution I was not offered any solution, rather, I was blamed. The second mechanic, which I visited immediately after this failure, can contest to what the repairs look like in the condition my car is when I pulled off. I wasn't even given the courtesy of knowing I was at risk because that tire they put on the car was not functional. I got the wheel from the junkyard. I believe they took advantage of my emergency situation, and left me, potentially, at risk read more

When I had a flat tire, I called and Darnell was there within a half hour to help me. Shortly after that, Maurice showed up in his own personal car with a replacement tire for me. They replaced my tire on the spot and I went on my way. I couldn't believe that my car didn't have to be towed somewhere in order to fix the tire. My partner and I hit a curb in a parking lot after sliding on snow-covered ice. After waiting 7 hours for AAA to send us a tow truck [telling us it would be there in an hour several times], we turned to Google and found Maurice and Sons. He was there in 45 minutes. He was very friendly and gave us a receipt to take to AAA for reimbursement. For a tow from Hilldale Mall to Elver Park area, it cost 133 dollars, for anyone looking for a cost estimate. I had a flat tire in the winter after a recent snow storm. Since I was planning on driving out of town that day I called AAA who said it may that them up to 4.5 hours to come help me change to my spare tire. So I called another 8-10 tire places around and Maurice and Sons was the only place that were available to help. They came to me within half an hour and changed the flat to the spare right away. I followed them to the store and they replaced my flat tire which no longer functioned with a used tire in good condition and I was on my way out of town within an other hour. I cannot say enough kind things about Maurice! My GF had a flat tire and had to abandon her car in a parking lot in order to make it to work on time. Within a few minutes Maurice sent someone out to take the tire off and bring it back to his shop. Had a flat tire/puncture from a nail in my car on Sunday and called these guys to ask for help and they were spectacular! Actually drove the car out to their garage and there was no wait whatsoever, they assessed it immediately, and then patched the hole in the tire right on the spot. Then they even offered to put my spare tire on and switch the patched one into the spare tire reserve. Best of all, it was only $15. Amazing! I understand that Madison had one the worse floods last night and our tow truck never showed up. What is upsetting is that they couldnt be honest with us. I called multiple tow companys and they were all up front and honest and told us that it would be many hours until someone would get to us. But Maurice and sons kept telling us they were on the way and less than one hour. If they had been honest with us and told us the truth about how long it was going to be we could have gone home and waited out the storm rather than sitting by our car for 4 hours. read more

I'm highly pissed. My husband and I have AAA roadside service, I'm guessing since it was the weekend the towing company they use were extremely busy.Anyway we contacted Maurice and son's towing cause their rates were reasonable.I wish I could have waited on AAA EVEN if it took two days to get our truck towed to the Cadillac dealership. The guy that towed my husband car f'ed my husband's truck up. When he put it on the flat bed he hit one of the road sign, bent the hood, and the paint is terrible.If it wasn't for my husband yelling he would have keep going and bust the window. We called the police to get a report and we contacted the tow company to speak with the manager, they won't take our call and been dodging us since the August 1 incident, we know things happen but all we want is our truck back the way it was before it towed it.
