The price is very reasonable; this is a place where you could easily throw peanut shells on the floor and no one would bat an eye (disclaimer: there are no free peanuts to nosh or shells to toss). Hudson's has a buffet. We checked it out quickly (looks like it had pulled pork and fried chicken and chicken livers as protein and a lot of cafeteria style sides and desserts). I guess if I were 30 years younger and had a big appetite I might go for that deal. After a short discussion, we ordered platters: two pulled pork, and one rib. My wife ordered chicken salad. When our orders arrived, we counted three pulled pork platters; alas, no ribs. Opps! Once my order hit the table, he couldn't take it back, so he promptly corrected the order and I got the benefit of double meat, i. e., a generous portion of pulled pork and my ribs. Pulled pork was quite tasty, but I think that I have made it just as good or better in a slow cooker. I really did enjoy my ribs. They had just enough meat and a brown sugar, dry rub. They were tender and not dried out, so I'll give Hudson's four stars on the ribs. I think the baked beans were advertised as barbecue, but our friend who had them said they weren't, but still tasted good. The mac in the mac n cheese was not over cooked, and it was quite cheesy, and I was surprised to find a few crispy chunks of cheesy sauce--always a plus! The slaw was fresh and well prepared. This was our first trip to Hudson's and our friends have been there several times but not for years. I have to give them a solid three. As I already mentioned, Hudson's a good-value dining choice; the BBQ is decent, but the sides are not much better than a K & W cafeteria. A great family Smokehouse!

This place was an absolute must try after seeing it pop up in my feeds. I checked the website and…read moreit showed they were closing in an hour. I called and tried to place a Togo order and they do not allow for that. They did say though that they keep serving customers even if it's past closing. So took the drive to the other side of Columbia and it was very much worthwhile. They sell out of things and so if things are cross off the menu, then you should have went earlier. I missed out on the smoked links. It was pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon and there were not that other many people in the dining area. Hopefully, that's just because it's a Sunday in South Carolina. The burnt ends, wings, wings, collards, beans, corn bread and rich with hash we're all stand outs. The staff was very friendly and helped make this place a gem that I'll highly recommend.

I feel like barbecue spots might follow a similar playbook regarding meats, smoke, sides, and…read moresauce, but they certainly are not created equal. When I was visiting my sister in Columbia, South Carolina, she told me about City Limits Barbecue and since there was only one day on our calendar that they would be open, our schedule was set. We got there pretty early after they had opened, but there's still was a line out the door. A little bit into our wait in line the owner/chef came out to talk us through the menu, his process, and recommendations. This was such a cool touch. I loved hearing about everything that he put into the product and the passion he has for his cooking. As you can imagine... The food was SPECTACULAR. Look, the brisket was absolutely top-notch and this beef rib was possibly the most tender chunk of meat I have ever had. We also got a half pound of their chopped whole hog option with crispy skins, and while it was delicious and flavorful, it didn't have the smoke or barbecue flavor without sauce that I was looking for. Of course, we had to go with practically an appetizer sampler of the sides and if I would've been able to put the food away, I would have just ordered one of everything. The collard greens were really good and not overly bitter, this sweet jalapeño coleslaw was maybe one of my favorite coleslaw recipes I've ever had, but the star of the show in my opinion were the sweet beans which was what most people would call baked beans. The amount of time, effort, and attention to every flavor in these beans was 10/10. Talk about bringing a humble ingredient to life. The cornbread was as amazing as you would imagine and the carrot cake was delicious. If you're looking for something unique with their barbecue, opt for the brisket sandwich with chili con queso or the Texicano. I was being a purist snob and just wanted the beef rib, but I stole a bite of my sister's sandwich and holy cow... Starve yourself the day before you visit, arrive early, and prepare to have a religious experience.

We ordered the garlic cheese curds as an appetizer and they were full of flavor, and not too garlicky. I had the grilled Salmon with grilled asparagus and sweet potato fries. The asparagus was perfectly seasoned, not soaked in sauce, the sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and the salmon was flaky and delicious. My husband had the fried shrimp with southwest hush puppies which were both fried to perfection. The banana cream cheesecake was the perfect takeaway dessert and it was so rich and creamy. We will definitely be back!

The owner/chef came out and introduced himself-so warm and kind. He is very active in the community which just makes it even better. Yall this place is a gem!!! Don't pass it by. Hands down some of the very best food in Lexington. Any other "normal" chicken will never be the same. .

Be aware, you don't just happen past Price's (in Gilbert, SC), you literally have to make an effort to go there. But it is well worth the effort. I grew up in Lexington, but have since moved away. On a recent visit home, I brought my youngest daughter with me to introduce her to the place that her father grew up. I wanted to have her experience the sights, sounds and flavors of my hometown. Price's BBQ is NOT a large joint. However, the food that they serve is absolutely fantastic. I would recommend Price's BBQ to anyone that has the urge for down-home country cooking served as an all-u-can-eat buffet. This is absolutely your spot. Price's BBQ is family owned and operated - I can only assume it is by the Price family. I was impressed with the quality and quantity of entrees and desserts. Both were excellent. Note: this is a home style restaurant and if you're thinking/expecting it to be like a Ryan's or Golden Corral, you are in for a completely different experience. The restaurant was clean and presentable. The service was excellent and incredibly friendly. Most importantly, the food was exceptional. I can't wait to eat here again.
