I love this place! I just moved to Seattle a couple of months ago and started a new job that keeps me really busy. I use to order from Hello Fresh but they are a bit pricey and I do not have the time any more to cook. So I searched for local minimal preparation food delivery services and found Maven Meals. The food is amazing and the Nutella cookies are so delicious. I love the fact that it only takes me at most 5 minutes to prepare my meal. For a busy bee like me this place is perfect. I received a gift certificate from a family member who could not be around to help with packing for a long distance move. WOW what a gift! If I postponing a move just to eat was a thing... I'd be doing it. We had a week of absolutely wonderful meals with little or NO prep. Fresh ingredients and OH so flavorful. The Salads and dressings were so good. I think that week, my favorites were the Artichoke Strata and the Spicey red lentils ....(excuse if the dish names are incorrect) Such wonderful foods so carefully prepared & packed with easy serving and clean up for me. WOW. Just WOW. Tried MM last week for the first time and every dish was fantastic. My kids LOVED the turkey chili as well as the teriyaki marinade. I have yet to go to the store, but I use the meal delivery service and it's AWESOME!! No minimum, just order what you want, and the quality is amazing. I rushed out the door late to work this morning and was delighted to grab some egg muffins for breakfast and an awesome lunch taking exactly zero time to make it. I love Maven Meals. I'm a senior citizen and live alone so it's perfect for me. I can order excellent prepared meals at a reasonable price and I don't have to purchase a lot of ingredients to make interesting dishes and then have to waste most of what I bought because it doesn't get used. The portions are generous (amounts are noted on the menu), even for my spouse and I who are big eaters. Everything has been absolutely tasty. I love that we can order parts of meals (mains, sides, etc) to fit our tastes and needs. No subscription to manage. There's a great selection, including healthy options that are soooo good. If it weren't for Maven Meals I would be living off cereal and protein shakes. I have no time in my busy 6 almost 7 day a week work/school schedule and absolutely refuse to resort to fast food. Although I love to cook there is not an opportunity for me spend the time/money needed to produce the meals I would really like to be eating. Maven meals is not only cheaper than buying all the ingredients you would need to make a nutritious gourmet meal, but takes all the labor and clean up out of it!! Oh did I mention they deliver to your house or work place?? uh, AMAZING!!! The originality of the menu items like Pico de Gallo Egg Muffins, Layered Roasted Eggplant Ratatouille, and BBQ Pulled Bison always keep me excited. This kid is never having a dull dinner! I was one of Maven Meals original customers, when she had only 8 clients and cooked the meals in her own home. Before the expansion, she closed for about a year, and I tried other delivery services in that time. I was disappointed in the quality and taste of the food of her so-called competitors, and everything was 2-3x more expensive to boot. Needless to say, I was elated when she reopened in September 2011 and I was thrilled to see that, even with the expansion to several dozen clients, the customer service, quality of food, and the value didn't suffer a single bit. Heidi is a true gem of a person, and I am grateful that Maven Meals is back in my life! The meals are DELICIOUS and healthful, and I find that I not only eat better than when left to my own devices (I don't enjoy cooking, and have little time for it anyway), but my food bills are lower. I have ordered from Maven Meals occasionally as a substitute for take out food. Most of the meals have been tasty. Some appeal to me more than others, which is fine--I know what to order in the future. The instructions for preparation are clear and helpful. The portions are generally adequate--some generous and some a little skimpy. I have chosen to pick up my orders since I live in Burien. Often challenging to notify someone that I am there to get my order. Today was particularly difficult. I went at 10 a.m. and was told that the meals wouldn't be available until 11 a.m. I was told that there was an E-mail notifying us of the hour delay; I didn't get one. I then got an E-mail that the order was ready. It wasn't. There were a number of us standing in the rain waiting for orders. We were told that the E-mails are sent automatically (and therefore are not necessarily accurate). Someone called and asked to talk to the manager and we were told the manager is working from home. Not helpful since we were standing in the rain waiting for orders. I do understand closing the store due to Covid risk. However, there needs to be a better plan for people picking up orders. I give the business some leeway for it being a holiday week and they were apologetic. read more

I used this company to cater an event, and I don't like feeding people at an event poor quality food as it will affect their ability to concentrate at the event. So I was thrilled to see fresh, healthy, non processed options that Maven Meals have. Heidi the owner was most helpful, and the entire process working with the company was easy and pleasant. They have great customer service. Answered emails efficiently, and made the process very easy. They were a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend them. We had some specific requests in regards to allergies, and it was not a problem for them to manage. Love everything about this place - except the food. I wanted a local, healthy food delivery place and Maven Meals seemed the perfect fit. They have a great website with easy ordering, no minimums, and no set plan. They are environmentally friendly and my little delivery pack has no waste at all - and so easy to set it outside to be picked up with the next delivery. First delivery we had two different dinner meals, some soups for lunches and a breakfast. We didn't like any of it. I really wanted this to work since this company checked all the boxes for me, so we ordered again. And again, we did not like one thing!! I even ordered their cookie sampler cuz who doesn't like cookies? Nope, they were not great. So unfortunately I am returning our cute little insulated pack and am searching for another solution. read more

A little ashamed to say I've only just recently tried this place despite living less than a mile away, but grad school tends to do that. I might like a chalkboard with the daily lunch specials posted, but otherwise this place is great and now my go-to lunch place on Mondays when I'm not working. I have been looking for meal prep help and I think I will try out their food delivery service. But if you're in the area you should pop in and grab something, especially one of their cookies. So awesome to be able to get lunch from a place where you can see a person cooking with real food and not just throwing some shit into a microwave. read more

Just got our first order last week and it was SOOO good. I had Mexican pork one night and a falafel salad dish and some polenta fries. Both were very easy to heat up and tasted amazing. The prices are reasonable (more expensive than cooking yourself but less than going out), portion sizes generous, and the convenience factor makes it all worth it. Had a bit of trouble with the online ordering process but hopefully they fixed that by now. read more

Just had a wonderful wine tasting and food pairing at Fall Line Winery in Georgetown. Maven Meals catered the event and the food and wine were wonderful together. Four courses including butternut squash lasagna (YUM! - went back three times!), braised short ribs (Super YUM!!) and dessert including a flourless chocolate cake and an AMAZING spiced cake. We started using Maven Meals right before our son was born. Four months later and we are still using them exclusively for our meals each week. We couldn't be happier with the food or the ingredients. It's cheaper than grocery shopping, we save time cooking going grocery shopping and coming up with recipes every week, it tastes way better than most of the stuff we attempt to cook, and we end up eating more of a variety than we would gravitate to on our own. Just placed my 3rd weekly order with Maven Meals. Lots of great food. There is only one item so far I don't love (paleo muffins *cough*). The other items range from good to absolutely-delicious-and-wishing-I-had-ordered-more-servings. I love the variety, and I think the pricing and value is very fair. Delivery is reliable and includes coolers, ice packs, and both glass and disposable containers (you return the glass and cooler the following week). A small mistake was made on one of my orders, and I immediately received my choice of a credit card refund or a future order credit. I was eating out way too much. I feel like the meals from Maven offer a better alternative - generally healthier, less expensive, and in many cases tastier than meals of similar cost at restaurants, while also being very convenient. What I have found already is that they've really taken care to make sure the prep or heating instructions are detailed and tested. None of this "throw everything in the microwave at full power" business. So far, I'm really impressed. read more

I can't say enough good things about Maven meals. I don't have the delivery but go in several times a week to the deli counter. The food is scrumptious and healthy. There's something different every week and sometimes twice a week. Heidi sure knows her way around a spice rack! The flavors are subtle and expertly blended, even when it's something as simple as broccoli in sesame oil.
