The guy at the register has a nasty attitude. Is not helpful and acts like he does not want to be there. I went to get an opinion on my two front tires. He seemed annoyed from the beginning like he didn't want to help me. He briefly looked at my tires and said yes they need replacement. When I asked him about a specific model tire I saw online he said thats strictly online and I would have to order them myself. I asked him if he could help order them and set up an appointment time. He quickly dismissed me and said no that's only online and there's nothing he could do. I went to the Mamaroneck location and the staff was much more helpful. They helped me set up the appointment and helped me order the tires I wanted. I don't think I'll be visiting this location any longer. read more

If you have expensive rims, avoid this place! They like to scratch rims and JAKE MACHADO likes to lie and make it seem like you did it and avoid responsibility. Sadly I went in today to change a tire on my Mercedes Benz E350. Everything was going well the receptionist was very nice I asked her to let the mechanics know to be careful with the rims. She wrote it down for them to see. I leave for an hour and come back and it was done. I paid and walked out to see almost half of my rim was scratched. I let the receptionist know and she was deeply disappointed because she told them to be careful with the rims. She lets JAKE MACHADO know and he walks out to see. Not a second passes by and he tries to avoid responsibility and points at me. Saying "they wouldn't do that" and he "doesn't know how that happened." He came off extremely disrespectful when my father tried to explain how it happened. But what JAKE MACHADO didn't know is I had pictures of my rims right before I came into the shop. The pictures before going in shows my rims clean as a whistle. Right when I showed him the pictures the narrative changed to "let me go speak to my manager" LOL Sadly!!! That's not where it ends. As I get in my car to leave. Dirt marks all over my white interior. Grease marks all over my white interior. Very sad how they treat peoples property here :( 500$ for a scratched rim and dirt marks in my interior. It's sad that you can work hard and pay your hard earned money for nice things and people like JAKE MACHADO like to treat your things like they don't matter and instead of being a man and taking responsibility you try to lie and get over on people and be disrespectful. It's sad because I really wanted to be a loyal customer to this shop and go here often to change my tires but it's seems like JAKE MACHADO doesn't care about treating customers with good quality service. Please if you cherish your car and rims be very very careful with this place. I would hate to see someone else go through this. This place is 100% fraud! They "replaced" my rear shocks in November 2025. I go in for a nail in a tire in April 2026 and they try to sell me new rear shocks again. It turns out they never replaced the shocks in November. The old rusty shocks were still on the vehicle. They just stole my money. I have pictures to prove it. The technician swore up and down that the rusty old OEM shocks were brand new. DONT USE MAVIS! read more

I stopped at this location yesterday because I had some new tires installed on friday at alfa romeo however one tire kept losing air. Rome at Mavis was extremely helpful and was able to determine there was a leak in the valve of the tire. He was able to fix the issue immediately. Not only was Rome helpful but also very knowledgeable. read more

I went to this auto shop to have my yearly inspection done for my registration on my car. They told me it'd be 37 dollars, pass or fail. After dropping off my car, they called me saying that multiple things were in terrible shape including my tire grip and brake pads. I was then told it'd cost me almost $2,000 dollars to be repaid. My car is barely even three years old. I had denied their service out of suspicion that I was being scammed, and they failed my inspection claiming my car is a danger to have on the road. When paying and picking up my car they also gave me a recall sheet for a 2018 Honda... I do not own a 2018 Honda. These people have zero idea what they are doing. The following day, I went to the Hyundai dealership instead to see if they were telling the truth about the damage on my car, and the mechanics at the Hyundai dealership said my car was perfectly fine and passed my inspection. DO NOT get any work done here. Utterly horrible. read more

I came from Queens to do business in Larchmont. My car started smoking and leaking radiator fluid. I panic and then thought about Mavis. I knew I would get good service. When I arrived the took my info and asked me if I would wait. I waited all from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm and then the guy told me that they will fix it tomorrow. I really would have appreciated them being up front and told me that they are really busy and I may need to leave it overnight. This left me scattering trying to get a hotel and taking Lyft for transportation. I finally decided to catch a Lyft home which was a good choice but now I need to Lyft it back tomorrow. Three stars for poor communication it shows a great deal of disrespect for my time. I had to catch a Lyft to McD's and wait the entire time there because the bathroom was out of order and they had no outlets to use for my laptop. read more

This place is terrible. Stay away. I was told one hour to change a tire and then when I came back an hour later the manager told me that it might be another half hour or another hour, he couldn't say... when I told him that I had another appointment and needed to move the process along, he abruptly and rudely handed me my keys back Then he told me that I would have to call corporate to refund my deposit because there was nothing he could do.. The Mavis Larchmont is the best tire repair shop in all of Westchester. I have been coming here for years. The staff here are friendly, kind, attentive and passionate about what they do-which makes all the difference when you are shopping for car services. I most recently stopped in yesterday for an appointment to get four new tires put on. I was able to pick my car back up shortly after in a timely fashion. They even provided a courtesy call to inform me it was ready. The manager, Carlos, rang me up and provided excellent customer service, professionalism and kindness. Carlos displayed tremendous knowledge about the products and services offered at Mavis. My previous set of tires from Mavis lasted a whopping 4 years, and I can certainly attest that the products and services offered here are a perfect blend of affordability and durability. Went there to get a tire and have a sound checked out. Two hours later am driving out of Mavis the sound is ten worse! I turned right around and went back in. 4 hrs later I call and was told the car was ready. No called me. Left with the same noise and a lot lighter wallet. I will never go back again. read more

So a few years back I had an experience with Mavis Discount tires in Scarsdale or Yonkers (I know where it is I'm not sure what town it falls in). Today I am sitting in a Mavis discount tires in Larchmont for 2 and 1/2 hours and they haven't even started my car. I made a reservation on line yesterday and when I arrived today, they did not have tires for my vehicle.... They could have given me a different tire, they could have told me to come back tomorrow.... but here I sit.... oh... and they just told me it's going g to be at least an additional hour.... I will be 2 hours late for work... I will never again use Mavis... and I'm learning a lesson about giving people and companies a second chance. Do research- this store will try to price gouge you & see if you notice! Went to replace a single tire like-for-like as I expected a more reasonable cost than the Dealership quote. ($270) Was surprised to be quoted $325 + tax & when I questioned the price & showed Dealer's quote they did match it. (Price guarantee) That is still a couple of bucks higher than the same tire in the same Mavis if you book it online. ...why be so dishonest with your customers? If I can give this place negative stars I would, I came here in need of help 20 minutes before closing. I needed 1 tire replacement and couldn't drive anywhere else because the tire pressure was literally at 0. When I ask if they can change it 2 guys who was doing nothing in the front express to me they are ready to clock out. I looked at them with disgust because even if they are closing on 5 minutes , there is a closing time for a reason. But it was literally 15-20 minutes before closing. I had no where else to go, had no choice but to pull out of the esablishment and wait 2 hours for a tow truck to come get my car. I would've tipped pretty heavy if they would've did my tire. But to wait a whole hour is crazy and I see its common for this to occur in the reviews.. I get being busy but someone come over and assess it. My family and I have been a customers of Mavis for many years. They have always been decent to deal with and reasonable with their pricing. Today was the first time I tried the Larchmont location, and will be the last. In my opinion, they attempted the old bait-and-switch on me. I called this location to see how much an oil change would be the day before. They told me with the coupon, it would be 59.99 for full synthetic. That sounded like a fair price, so the next day I went in for the service. When I arrived they changed the price to $109 or $99 with coupon. I told Sean (the guy working there that gave me this inflated price) that I was quoted $59.99 the day before, but he would not honor the quote. I said fine and left. Sure, mistakes happen, but this did not feel like an honest mistake, and even if it was, they should have honored the quote they gave me. Just to confirm my suspicions, I called a few other nearby locations and was given the same price of $59.99 with coupon for full synthetic. Bottomline, they gave me one price to get me in the door and then changed the price on me once I was there to increase their markup. What a waste of time. This kind of shady practice, besides being dishonest, is just a stupid way to run a business in 2021. Anyway, I have made a formal complaint with the NY State Division of Consumer Protection (easy to do online and I would encourage anyone else who experienced something similar to do the same). read more

I arrived on time, and was told it would be a 2-3 wait because they needed to get a lift free, and there were other reservations ahead of me. They had my car for 4 days and did not call me once to provide an update on their inability to get the tires I requested for my car. 1. Had to call repeatedly to check on tire status. 2. Did NOT get my permission to replace my tires with another brand. a) My name and phone number is in their system for MY car. 3. They do not know who they spoke to get another brand of tires placed on my car. 4. had a 1 pm appointment. showed up on time and told 2 1/2 hour wait. asked if I could leave and they call me when ready for me. the guy refused saying he would take people ahead of me because it wouldn't be fair to them if I left. I purchased 4 new tires and when I got my truck back the tire sensor light has been on. when I bring it to the store they say the can't find the problem. I have called several times and the regional manager from the Syracuse /Rochester area has been very passive aggressive with me and tells me basically it's not there problem and take it to the dealer at $150 an hour to prove it's there fault. the tires where purchased 2 hours from my home and and the local stores will not get involved any further bc they can't resolve the issue. one store didn't look at my truck said I need sensors it's $300. I have second several hours trying to resolve this and my times valuable too and no one cares. this is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I have contact customer service several times. I'm told to speak with the regional manager and I was told he gave me my only option which was to pay some one to prove it's his fault . The regional manager will not work with me or even reach out at this point. I have asked for his boss and been told that was what his boss told him to do. Don't go here. They're are dishonest. After 5 years of giving them my business and having to keep redoing work I caught the manager, Luis in an outright lie. Too many details to go into... but short version... paid to fix an engine light issue. Mavis kept my car for 4 days and kept telling me they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Luis said I needed a smoke test which takes a whole day (I didn't and it doesn't). I bring it back again and after a day he tells me he doesn't have time to work on it. So I take it somewhere else... in 5 MINUTES they run a diagnostic and tell me whats wrong. They said that Mavis fixed the wrong sensory. When I told Luis this and asked if he could replace the sensory that needed to fixed at reduced labor cost, he said no. And this wasn't the first issue I had with them (needed to replace struts because they didn't replace strut mounts when they did the strut job the 1st time). Don't waste your money here like I did. They might be good for a quick fix, but not for long term care. THEY ARE NOT MECHANICS! read more

I'm always hitting a curb here and there (gotta work on that lol). This time I hit one pretty hard in the mall parking lot and noticed a tear in my new tire. Knowing I have to drive a lot this weekend and next week I got concerned about whether the tire is damaged and could blow out. I drove over as a walk in first thing when they opened. It is a Saturday and I didn't expect to be taken care of as quickly as I was but within less than an hour I got a phone call saying that my tires were okay and that my car is ready for pick up. There was also no charge for this tire check. I appreciate the immediate and fast service along with it being free of charge. Now I can drive with one less stressor and worry on my head. They neglected to put the plug ring back on my vehicle and caused $2000 worth of damage when all the oil ran out. They would not take responsibility for their actions, claiming that I did not follow some claim procedure that I was never made aware of, the management of this company should be ashamed itself based on my experience and some of the other reviews. My husband took our 3yr old 25,000 mile car in on Friday for a NYS inspection Louie said car did not pass inspection because 4 new tires totaling $1000 were needed We had replaced one of the tires 8 months ago so my husband was skeptical and said he was getting a second opinion.
