About 2 months ago, I came into mavis looking for a wheel alignment and a brake check. I left paying over $2,000 in services and my car has never been worse. First off, my alignment was so terrible, my car would start shaking every time I drove over 40 miles an hour. Secondly, my brakes are still terrible, after they claimed to have fixed all 4, including the rotors in two of them. Lastly, they stole my brake fluid cape and I just recently found out while getting an oil change at delta sonic. I will never return and encourage anyone reading this not to as well read more

my first experience here was great. customer service was excellent. I had a car tire plugged even after I asked if it would be safer to just get 2 new ones. My newly plugged tire blew out on thruway with a car full of kids. I'm counting my blessings that we were all safe. I don't take safety lightly. They did pay for one new tire- but that hardly equalled an entire day lost, the cost of tow service (happened on a part of the NYS thruway that you are not allowed to fix a flat) a half a day of work and the cost of the second tire. The person was nice and took full responsibility but only paid for one tire. it cost me an additional 600 out of my pocket for their mistake. read more

I called early this morning to ask about having my car looked at because I needed a new tire. The man I spoke with said to come at 2:00. I asked him to please write it in as an appointment because I didn't want to wait long. The response was that they wouldn't be busy. I showed up at 2:00. My keys were taken, no discussion of anything. I sat and waited for two hours. It literally took them 10 minutes to assess my vehicle. In the end, I was told that I needed to get two tires and that they weren't in stock! Waste of my time. read more

My car was there 6hours for an oil change. I didn't receive a single call to update me on when my vehicle might be ready. After 4 hours I called and was told my car was next to be done. I arrived at the 6 hour mark after not hearing anything and they had not touched my car. The lady at the front desk was on a personal call and cursing right in front of me. She then told me sorry they didn't get to my car but that I could make an appointment for the next day. I asked her why would I do that? Where then she said with an attitude "because you need your oil changed". Absolutely ridiculous. That girl needs to learn better customer service skills ASAP. read more

My wife took her car in to get 4 new tires of a size advertised on the Mavis website. When she arrived she was told they couldn't get those tires and that the price would be $200 more than she was expecting. She purchased the tires and in 2 weeks time one of them had lost enough air to set off the TPS. She took it back (with an appointment) and was made to wait 2 hours while they "fixed" the tire. 2 weeks later and the tire was nearly flat again. Another 2 hour wait while they "fixed" it and the problem still was not solved. After this "repair" the car developed a vibration which was later identified as a wheel out of balance. I suspect sabotage but obviously cannot prove it. The next call we were told that they cannot "repair" a tire more than twice before it would have to be replaced (at our cost)! They could hardly have been more rude about the return visits and have ultimately lost our business (as a location and as a franchise) which they might have noticed since we have 4 vehicles in the household. The problem was eventually identified by another shop as a loose valve stem. Unreliable gimmick pricing and poor service is what you'll get with Mavis Discount tire. read more

I travel a lot, so it's very difficult for me to find a repair shop I can trust, let alone one that can do the job right. Can't say enough about Mavis Tire, and especially Mike, the manager I dealt with. I found out that I didn't need brake repair that I thought I did, and while there were a few minor things that needed attention I didn't know about, those items were handled without them trying to rip me off. Not only was the work all done properly, and ahead of the estimated completion time, but the price was definitely right as well. I was expecting about a $500 bill (oil change, brakes, tire mounting and balancing, rear shocks, etc.), so I was totally shocked when the total tab was only about $230. I will definitely make Mavis my one-stop repair shop for all things automotive as long as I'm in the Buffalo area. read more

Over the last 2 years I have purchased a full set of 4 tires and 2 replacement tires (due to a flat) from Mavis. The 2 replacement tires were just purchased 3 weeks ago. I drive a luxury vehicle and maintenance is not cheap, but Mavis is fairly close to where I live and has been helpful to me in the past. After my encounter today with the store manager at the North Tonawanda store on Payne Avenue, I will never spend another cent of my money at this business. I had low tire pressure in one of the tires that was just replaced and entered the store because the self-serve air machine outside was out of order. I was hoping to ask if there was any way I could pull the car up to the garage and receive a little air from the pumps inside to get me home since the machine was out of order (employees have actually offered this to me in the past multiple times). After waiting 10 minutes at the counter for someone to ask if I needed help the store manager finally appeared. Once he got to the counter, he simply stared at me. He did not even say hello, let alone something along the lines of, "can I help you?" He said nothing. So I said hello and explained I needed a little air to get home and hoped he could help me, especially considering I had just spent over $500 at his business. He proceeded to complain about someone ripping off the end of the air pump outside. He offered no solution to my issue, telling me, "we don't have cords that reach out to the parking lot." I asked if I could pull the car closer or into the garage. His curt reply was "no, the gas station over there has air." Again, I asked if he really couldn't do anything to help me even though I had just spent a substantial amount of money there. All he would say is "nope." Never have I been so disrespected in my life, as a customer and as a human being. This manager truly deserves to be fired. As I said before, never again will I be subject to such disrespect and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I was overdue on my oil change and every place I want too was at least a two hour wait. I stopped at mavis because I was in the area and they squeezed me in and I was in and out on ln about 30 min. I will definately be going back. They were great read more

They are now named STS These people are the worst, please do not trust them at all. I am a female and after the first time going here to change my oil and they decided to cook up etc of what i need to have fixed when i said no the owner said oh ok we will work with you, so shady and distrustful. I decided to give them another try, maybe i was tense that day, oh no THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS, will never go there again. The second time they said i need to buy all 4 tires, get etc.......... done i said oh no just change my oil i am leaving. Of-course they also jipped another guy next to me and charged him $20 extra for wheel alignment than what their sign says, this man noticed this and drove back to complain. Once again I am never ever going back - Please stay clear of this place people. read more
