I just had a few thousand dollars work done , or course they up sell me my fault tires breaks shocks etc etc! Been going there for years! Went back a month later had a flat on one of my new tires! Went in said I needed a flat fixed lol the guy goes on his computer gets my info tell me I have run flats lol! I tell him I don't it's a new regular Michelin tire he goes out to check lol! Comes back in , mumbles something goes back on his computer! I'm standing there like what the fugg I just want the flat fixed! He clicks away a few seconds later he says we have 5 tires in stock lol the he says 303 dollars! I look at him he's clearly either doing this on purpose or he a dummy! I said you just looked up my car you see I have 4 new tires!.. I'm here to get the flat fixed besides there's a warranty, he goes back the calculator/give me your cash dummy machine! He says you took you don't have a warranty you declined it when you got them, lie! ! I said they are brand new they come with one year manufacturer warranty! Then I said I just want the flat fixed! He looks at me goes away comes back lol I'm standing there for 20 mins I have to consult my co manager! Now I didn't want to lose my temper so I get my car suv the tire is almost flat I'm leaving so I pull up to the air pump ( only thing free there at I think! There's another moron standing there by the pump a store employee he goes you can't pull your car like that you have too , lmao I go say I'll just be a second so he tries to block me wtf is happening lol I nudge him out the way aside dude I'll just be a second! Put air in tire went to my neighborhood station got the flat fixed 20 mins nail in tire! What ever you do these guys upsell you at every turn ! I will never go back! read more

Awful experience! Got a flat, took it to central avenue. They didn't have me specific tire and had to wait three hours. Same tire flat a month later. Went to White Plains, NY near my job. Got there 8:04 AM. They did not have the tire. I took an uber to work . It is not almost 12: 40 PM and still looking to get the tire delivered. I thought Mavis was supposed to be a change tire while you wait, not loose your car all day. Insane to me if you ask. read more

Bought my car in there to replace the tires. Brand new car. They broke my glove compartment and they also stole money out of my passport bag. There was no reason for them to go into the glove department. If they couldn't find something I believe they should have called me to ask me do I know where it's at? I would guided him to it, and this issue wouldn't have been truly a problem, but now it is. Manager Ron stated that his employees would never still but as a manager of 18 staff members that something that I would not justify as being truthful, but I definitely would tell a customer that let me see what I can do. Let me speak to the person that serviced your car and let's see if we can move forward from this to automatically say that, my staff would never still is truly a lie. Mind you if they had called me and asked me for the key lock to the tires I would've let them know that it's in the middle of the conceal. But no one reached out to me. so this morning when I called it was a back-and-forth so I had to call corporate, and when I go to work today, I will be pressing charges. Not good at all! we drop my car for all 4 tire change. Yes they ask if we want to wait but we said it's ok we come back later to pick up my car . 6 h later they did not change tres. Than they took car in .. now car is in garage and we wondering what's going on . Still they did not touch my car. Other cars was coming in and they was up on lift. we were very upset and we ask just to take car now. And nothing was done after 7 h. Front person blaming person in garage and garage person blaming persons on the front. They did not even say sorry or apology. i would not recommend that particular location ! read more

They will order the tires you want if they do not have them in stock & install them, align them & not upcharge you. I highly recommend this strategy otherwise you may pay for tires you don't want/need. I've been to 5 Mavis locations. This one is as busy as the rest and every single location I've ever been to is understaffed with a long wait. Desmond here was handling everything the best he could. He listened to my requests, gave me what I wanted, made the usual upsell suggestions (the per tire warranty, mavis credit card) while answering the phone, coordinating staff in the bays and acknowledging new customers as they walked in (5 behind me when I left, 3 waiting when I arrived). Wife got a nail in tire and when they called me told me there screw in her tire was so large that it wen into the sidewall and so they recommend changing it out for a brand new tire. After refusing and when I went to pay, I asked for the screw, which was less than an inch long. This is how I am treated as a long time customer. BEWARE, especially of Ray and James. Last month I needed a new tire for my 2012 Fiat. And an Inspection sticker! Went to Mavis on Russell Street and Tarrytown Road in White Plains where they convinced me to get not one but four (4 )new tires...... and guess what! I needed new shocks ! After two hours I was on my way..... my wallet $1,100. lighter....I'm a seventy seven year old man with a quadruple bypass and a knee replacement so I don't move too fast but to these guys at Mavis I must have had 'shnook' written all over me. With my new shocks, I noticed a rattling in my car which increased jn intensity everyday. Finally I took it back to Mavis where they put it up on the lift and I could see the mechanic tightening something on the undercarriage, The salesman who sold me the 'new shocks' last month came out to tell me I needed new rear wheel bearings. Funny how they missed this last month! $800 but they would give me them for $600 ! I told them I would take my car to Fiat in Larchmont and left..... guess what no more rattling! After hitting a pothole on a rainy Saturday, the tire pressure monitor alerted me that one tire was losing pressure rapidly. We took the first exit and were very pleased to see Mavis Discount Tire, and still open. We rolled in, almost completely flat, a few minutes before closing, and were first told by the shop foreman that they were not taking any more cars that day as they finished up existing cars and cleaned up. However, the manager, James, very graciously came to our rescue, told us not to worry, and found one mechanic, Manny, who was willing to work on the car, even if it meant staying late. We were back on the road very quickly, and we were all extremely grateful as we were far from home without a long-distance spare. Thank you James, Manny, and Mavis Discount Tire. read more

White Plains location- Easy as pie. Got a flat. Drove in. Told the guy at the front desk that i needed a new tire. They checked to see if they could fix my tire first. That wasn't possible so they gave me some prices on tires. I chose what i wanted. They told me 3 hours. It only took about 2 hours. I paid and drove out! The guys were helpful honest and pleasant. This is a follow up when I previously posted a post of my visit to Mavis. I got a response telling me to call Rich from the Consumer Solution Dept. I first called on 4/12/21 and was told that he would call me back that day or the next. I was told my case was being investigated. Well here it is 4/20/21 and numerous calls and later and still no return call. New update to my previous complaint : After contacting the BBB Rich the regional Mgr got in touch with me and said he would refund the money I had to pay to go to another shop to fix their work. I went to this particular shop to get my two back tires checked out as they seemed flat. After waiting almost 45 minutes (when I was told it would only be 15) I was told there was NOTHING wrong with my back tires. After hesitantly leaving, while driving home I flagged down by another driver and was told that my back tire looked flat. Worried I would get stuck in an unsafe area I went to another shop. Turns out, I had a nail in BOTH my back tires. I don't think they even tried to look at my tires... also I called back to complain and they tried to tell me I had never even been there... I was driving home when my dashboad lit up and I had to pull over on the side of I-287W on a Sunday afternoon on Mother's Day! Mavis Tire was not only the ONLY place open but they were able to replace my alternator and battery and get me back on the road and home before sunset!!! I cannot thank the mechanics and one of the employees, Paul, who could tell I was stressed and upset. He was kind and patient and because of him, I felt that I was in very good hands. I would not come here. My boyfriend got all new tires on his car before we came on vacation. The car kept on pulling to the right as we were driving down south. We had to come to a mavis down in SC and we found out two tires were put on backwards and the steering wheel was messed up. Not a great place to bring your car. Was dismayed on arrival to learn of a three-hour wait, but decided to stick it out. In its middle-age, this vehicle fails as many inspections as it passes. Paul, the service manager, was kind enough to take my vehicle without an appointment. He "dried my tears" and assured me he'd fix the problem. Avoid this place. I got two tires replaced and as they were working they called me over to let me know the TPMS sensor broke while deflating the old tires. This is a very common issue when someone does not know what they are doing, and most of the guys in there looked like they were in their teens so it's not a surprise. When I demanded they pay for the part they broke they changed their story to the sensor was broken before I came here. My dad said the same issue happened when he brought his car here before. Scam artists. Don't go here for the sake of your sanity and wallet. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning because I had a nail in my right rear tire that was slowly leaking air. I come at opening time and show the service person the tire and nail location. 2 hours later I see they finally have my car on the lift but they removed my left rear tire and removed the tire from the rim. I tell front desk I think they are working on the wrong tire but they say no they are just inspecting all four tires. Ok I guess. I wait another 30 minutes and go to back to talk with an actual mechanic. The mechanic figures out the first service person documented the wrong tire and they were working on the wrong tire. After waiting another 30 minutes they finish repairing the correct tire and I'm on my way. I'm half way home and my car tells me the repaired tire has only 12 psi. I go out to check manually and it is only at 12. So I have to go back to fill up my repaired tire. How they first work on the wrong tire and then work on the correct tire, pull out a nail, repair it and don't think to refill it with air is beyond me. read more

BEWARE...I 100% KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN BUT I BLAME MYSELF FOR LAZINESS. Took my car in for a NYS inspection. They called 1 hour after drop off saying 1 of my tires had low tread. I said wow that's funny all tires were replaced the same time and they all looked fine to me not even low. I said I'll be down to look at the "low tread" tire. Just to be sure...I looked up online NYS law says you need 2/32 of tread for it to pass, well 10 mins after I hung up I was about to go there with a ruler. So I get a call back from the manager saying he personally re-checked the tire in question and looks like it has 3/32 and blamed the service tech...WOW Amazing how my tire suddenly was able to pass once I questioned the BS they were trying to tell me, and said i was going to bring a ruler. I'm going to go somewhere else besides MAVIS and have the tire in question and another on replaced. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, THESE PLACES ARE TRAINED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN,ELDERLY AND THOSE WHO HAVE LITTLE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT VEHICLES AND LAWS, MY FRIEND WENT TO THEIR TRAINING AND WAS TAUGHT THESE FRINGE METHODS TO GET $$$$$. Had nail in tire, after waiting hour and a half, they showed me what looked like two holes next to each other. I suggested a patch, but they said only plugs and it was too close. I took car to tire shop in the Bronx, pulled in tire removed tech pulled out one nail. Apparently it was just bent over to appear like a U Nail. Patch applied on inside of tire and all good. Apparently Mavis is not interested in repairing, just replacing. read more

I had an appointment at a rival tire place less than 2 miles away. I arrived to that appointment that I made and I was denied, because apparently their website makes appointments for hours after the store is closed. With a lot of argument and stupid responses, I had to rush someplace else. I arrived at Mavis at just about 4:00, which is technically later than they should be receiving walk on services. Upon hearing about how stupid my previous experience was, they decided to accommodate me despite the late arrival. The staff even offered to fix my squeaky rotors while I was on the lift. I will gladly continue to give this Mavis my business. They were incredibly considerate and helpful in a time of distress, when they didn't have to be. Clearly, whoever is training in customer service at Mavis is doing the right thing! My loyalty is earned as of now. :) read more
