I recently stumbled upon the Mavis Tires & Brakes located at 3443 Mars Hill Road, NW Acworth, Georgia while experiencing my tire not holding air and on my way home from work I had stopped at some many places to put air in my tire just hoping and praying I could make it home. What better place than just a block from the Marvis location , my tire had gone completely flat. I wheeled in on 3 tires and one flat tire and I was greeted by a warm welcome and a smile from the entire staff. I explained my situation and in no time the entire staff had my car pulled in and all the staff preceded to work on repairing my tire. I experienced honest, efficient and prompt service. 2 years ago I bought 4 new tires Perrelis for my sports car, they put the big tires in front and smaller on back, it's a sports car so the big ones on back and smaller in front. Oil change was due on my 2024 Camaro - should have been straight forward and easy. They didn't look up oil capacity specs and left it 2-quarts low, didn't reset the service reminder, then to top it all off ran it right up to the curb and scratched up the air dam. If we hadn't double checked the oil level before leaving it would have ruined my brand new car. No one even apologized. We pointed out the issues and they topped off the oil. We reset the service indicator ourselves. BTW - this oil change was supposed to be a "complimentary" oil change because they forgot to do the alignment on our truck when we replaced all the tires. read more

We've been to this location and the one across the street and tried to give the benefit of the doubt after a mix of good and bad experiences, but today was the last straw. To start, I had an appointment at 0800 due to tight time constraints on my one day off, arrived at 0750 and waiting in my car until they opened. The tech didn't even arrive until after 0820 and didn't start until after 0830. So about 45 minutes to an hour later I'm finally about to leave and the handle on my driver door suddenly is very difficult to open (have always been able to open with 1 finger to include this morning when I left to drive there). I go inside to explain what's going on and that I'm extremely upset but still calm and figure out what happened and how to correct this. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He goes and calls his supervisor. He then proceeds to tell me that an oil change doesn't include work to the door. Well thank you for mansplaining that to me! I would have never understood such a concept![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So after back and forth and showing him this, he's trying to convince me that there's no way this happened and that they are in no way liable for damage to my car while it's in the bay, I go to leave. And low and behold- there also oil all over my driver side floor mat. I can smell the oil in my car. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He then said I could leave my mat with him and he can contact his regional manager to see what can be done and I can pick it up "at my earliest convenience."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Do you really think I want to come back here again for any reason after this? No thanks! The oil level is borderline low (I do not have any leaks and only drove about 9 miles home) and there is oil all over under the engine block plastic covering. I brought my jeep in for an alignment and was told that the rear axle (solid axle) could not be aligned. I explained to the technician that the track bar, which is responsible for locating the axle left/right, is an aftermarket adjustable unit- so, while the computer might say that it isn't adjustable, it actually is. He disagreed that it could be adjusted. The reason I brought the car in in the first place is that the track bar had lost its alignment because the previous alignment tech (also this mavis) didn't tighten the clamps on the adjusting collar. At the end of the day, I blew $100 at this location and aligned the rear of my jeep myself the old fashioned way- on the ground with a tape measure. I'm giving two stars because the staff was generally friendly, and the store was clean; however, I found the technicians to be incompetent at a simple task such as aligning my vehicles wheels. read more

Well, I removed my previous review, because the manager at this store did her very best to make up for it. She also really seems to be trying to turn this place around. The reason I'm posting a 1 star review though, is for the simple fact that Mavis Corporate posted a message on my previous review stating that they would assist me with repayment for the wheels and tires that were stolen off their property. However, I did reach out just like their response on my review stated to do, they said they would recoup the money, which I even gave them the receipt, then they literally all the sudden would no longer respond to emails or calls and have not made a single attempt to communicate again. This place has the absolute worst corporate customer service I've seen yet. It's kinda Sad since it's such a large chain, and that the current staff at this store is 10000 times better then 6 months ago. I've even gone as far as to help their customers with issues due to communication errors by staff, and have helped trouble shoot customer vehicles for them, while I was there waiting for my vehicle to be done. I'm not even asking for anything extra, or anything outside of what was taken of THEIR property, that was my personal belongings that I worked to pay for, so I don't really understand what the issues is here. They've basically crossed the line of bad customer service, to a possible criminal offense. Bet they'd respond in court.... read more

If I give no stars I would. Came in for breaks and had appointment at 3:10 PM. I understand that there was a slight delay and did not mind waiting. Finally got into the bay, 2 1/2 hours later. I was told that my brakes and my rotors needed to be replaced. That was not a surprise. Then I was given the price of how much it would be to replace both of them. then I was told there might be another wait time because they have to order them and Driver will have to bring them to the store. At this point it didn't matter to me brand new brakes and rotors were a safety issue and I did not mind waiting. , I find out much later that the mechanic from the store had to go to the parts store to pick up the parts because they didn't have a driver. Again, I didn't find a fault in that my safety was important to me and I just needed to get my brakes done. At 6:32. I paid for new rear brakes and rotors. Costing me $455. my vehicle and I drove about 500 feet in their parking lot and I heard grinding and metal clinking. The clink is something I did not hear when I brought my car in. I tried to break and pull into a parking spot in the store next to Mavis. I ended up hitting the front curb with my front bumper because my car would not come to a complete stop. I put my car in reverse and backed up the hill, then put it in neutral and came down the hill to get back into Mavis parking lot. Again with barely any brakes. As well as the scraping metal to metal sound, and the clinking of metal. If Mavis corporate is Seeing this .... My lawyer will Be in contact with you-- stop playing with people's lives read more

If you tell me that the car will be ready in 45mins-1hr then that's what we as customers expect. Instead lying to us and the car being done 4-5 hours later! This is the second time. And I've seen it done to other customers personally. Just Be honest about the time. read more

To whom it may concern, In two weeks Mavis lets me down on two locations. I went to the first location at 3719 Kemp Ridge Rd NW, Acworth, GA 30101 to get four new tires on my wife's car. Along with the tire change came an inspection. The service done was ok but along with it they replaced my TPMS and at first told me that the light on my dash would disappear in 50 to 100 miles and it did not. I returned to the location and was asked by the manager to go to another mavis location not far from them. I went to the Mavis at 3443 Mars Hill Rd, Acworth Ga 30101 and they were courteous and reset the TPMS light on my vehicle. The first location did not even put the air caps back on my new tires. Very unprofessional. I needed some more work done on the same car after the inspection done by the first location but decided to have it done at the place that made the TPMS reset. I went to change shocks front brakes pads. I was then called by the manager and discovered that during the installation the mechanic had accidentally broken my windshield. I was offered to look for a windshield replacement at their expense. The manager suggested I drive the car home to which I refused due to the risk of committing a traffic violation. She then offered to have one of the employees drive my car home and that my windshield would be replaced on the following Monday, five days from the day the window was broken. What kind of customer satisfaction should I have in this situation? I have more reasons to be upset with the Mavis brand and will post this on social media. My experience has just not been a positive one with Mavis. I just got stared with a blank face by the manager and that was it. I made a complaint to the regional manager who gave me the impression he does not care either and even said that he was pulled over and had a crack on his windshield to which the police officer did not notice, in other words that I was making a big thing out of nothing. You pay high price for something the least you expect is proper treatment. Very disappointed! read more

Gave what I consider an honest assessment of my vehicle. I know I need brakes. I know I need tires. In researching online per axle the cost is average. I felt the quote was reasonable. Stayed consistent and always try to keep me within what was quoted. I come to the location over others because they listen, I've never felt pressured, and I've always received my vehicle timely. It was just me and my three pets in the car, and I pulled in Mavis right as they were closing Leroy and Kenny were so kind and respectful towards me in my situation. WOW!! That's my thoughts about this Mavis location! Purchased tires less than a week ago at another Mavis location, but they did something incorrectly and while I was on a long trip, one of my tires kept loosing air. Stopped here out of necessity on my way home and even though they were really busy, Kayla was able to fit me in. She determined what the problem was and resolved it quickly. Mavis Tire dsnt deserve 1 star. I'll never take another vehicle to Mavis Tire on Mars Hill Rd in Acworth. I called Mavis for a quote on 2 tires. First of all I thought I was calling the tire shop for a quote. Later I found out it was a call ctr. The guy gave me a quote of $90 each for All terrain tires. He was price matching w/ another tire shop online. Awesome!!! Told the guy I was on my way. When I get there the "manager" said she cld not sell me tires for that price. I was pissed & she knew it. She said she cld give me 1 tire for that price but not both. I had to walk out & let my daughter deal with it. Keep in mind I told her All terrain & the girl even wrote the tire size & all terrain on paper. I didn't have a choice but to use them. 1 tire was bald about to blow. The other tire was almost flat from a leak. We wait over an hour & a half. When they pull my truck to the front I was pissed. She took it upon herself to put all season tires on my truck. This girl tells me she can't give me all terrain for that price & she will take the tires off & put my old tires back on. I was shocked! This told me she didn't care about the safety of her customers. Again my daughter sent me out & she handled the transaction. We didn't want to chance driving on my old tires so we left with the all season tires. I let it be known I was calling Mavis headquarters. I called headquarters & was told a regional manager will call me back. The next day on my way to pick my daughter up from work One of the new tires started losing air. I had to get my truck towed home. I didn't hear from headquarters until the next day. The regional manager asked me to send a picture of tires online & she will price match. I told her about the one tire & not having a way to bring my truck to the tire shop. She then says if the price match is approved I can bring my truck back to switch the tires. How in the hell am I suppose to drive my truck with a demolished new tire. The next day the manager from the tire shop called saying they don't have the tires I sent the quote for but they have tires they can order. Why not order the tires I sent the quote for? Then she said it's going to cost me another $60 for mount & balance after I just paid $268 when the quote I got was $90 from the call ctr. The mount & balance cost me $40 how is it now another $60 & the manager is the one who screwed up by putting the wrong tires on in the first place. They also charged me for an alignment I did not need of $99. I didn't ask for an alignment nor did they ask me if I wanted an alignment. The invoice is confusing to add charges I don't understand! im on a fixed income i don't need the stress! Now I'm basically screwed & broke! Thanks Mavis!!! read more

I scheduled a 12:00pm appointment, dropped my truck off at 11:30. I never received a call that my truck was ready, so I had my wife drop me off at 4:30 since they close at 5. Well my truck was ready, so I asked the person working the desk how long it had been ready for, and he said maybe 15 minutes. So my trucks oil change and tire balance took 4 1/2 hours to complete when I did make an appointment... that's issue #1. The next issue is that when I got in my truck, I found that my maintenance light was never reset, and the sticker that shows your oil change date was never changed out. So that gives me the appearance that they didn't even do anything to my truck. This used to be my go to spot for oil changes, but I will never go again. I am truly worried that I paid $140 and nothing was done to my vehicle. read more

I went for an alignment and they put my car on the rack within 15 minutes of my arrival. The tech came out a few minutes later and explained that I didn't need an alignment. Used this facility when it was NTB for years. Made an appointment, showed up, in and out in 30 minutes for an oil change! Not now though, as Mavis' has once again shown their preference for complacency when it comes customer service. No pricing posted - anywhere, in fact no pictures, no coffee, no waiting area amenities - nothing. Clerk had no idea of the pricing structure and spent 5 minutes giving me a price, so now it's 9:05. At 9:30, my car had not been touched, asked for my keys, and literally went next door to Take 5 Oil Change. Guess what, it took 5 minutes! Oil and filter change, tire pressure, fluids topped off and replaced engine air filter, for less than the Mavis' price pulled out of a hat. Paid, and drove out, literally 7 minutes after pulling into the bay. Good Luck Mavis, because this location is going to need it! read more

You need to give any advice that you receive from this store great consideration before you act on it.

I brought my car into this location for an oil change, upon receiving my car back my oil pressure was reading 0. As soon as I realized this was a problem, I called and the shop told me their tech did not put a drain plug in my vehicle. I brought it back in, and when I got it the second time it actually broke down on my way home. I was able to get it to a different location per their district managers advice, he promised my engine would be inspected by a different store to see if they had done any damage to the motor. I got a call from the second shop the next morning who said there was no need to even look at my motor- I needed tires. Odd, because I had never experienced the shaking before my oil change at Mavis tire. I spent the next few weeks budgeting for tires, and the issue I was experiencing only got worse. I spent about $400 in parts alone trying to fix it, aside from 4 new tires, as I was unaware the extent of the damage done by Mavis tire. Finally I brought my car to a different chain entirely to have a diagnostic done on my motor, and it revealed my entire motor was shot, and filled with metal shavings- consistent with the bad oil change done by this company. I brought this attention to Mavis tire- who launched an investigation, if you can even call it that. Come to find out they NEVER documented their techs mistake on my car at this location- AND they CHANGED the service date on my records for the second shop making it look like I waited 30 days in between reporting the problem. They had no answers for any of my question, and the regional training manager, Angel Rodrigues told me my claim was denied, and when I had a lot of questions they were unable to answer, he called back telling me we had a 90% chance of getting corporates approval and he was prepared to have my car in a repair shop. Called Monday afternoon and said Mavis tire wasn't willing to accept responsibility- and my claim was denied a second time. Denying my claim or not- this shop is the farthest thing from professional and they spoke to me like I was stupid. I hung up the phone in tears and disbelief at the treatment I received from this company, all the way from the store level to corporate level. I tried to call corporate to discuss the changed service record date, and they REFUSED to speak to me. I have recordings of all phone calls between myself and the company, and plan to seek legal representation. This company is crooked, and after posting about the experience on social media I learned of several other people who had this same issue with the same company. This company does NOT care about it's customers in the slightest. I also want to add- my car had NO issues prior to coming to Mavis tire. 0/10 would not recommend for even the simplest of tasks. Edit to add, in response to Mavis tire's comment, I had NO preexisting problems with my car, no issues at all until their less than satisfactory oil change. Also- my car did not continue to run for 6 months after, this damage presented itself immediately- which you would know if your shop had inspected like they promised they would! I understand the name of the game is to deny- you've done that twice, after your training manager called me saying he was 90% sure you guys were going to accept responsibility AND reopened my claim. read more
