Used this place for YEARS (10+). Took our WHEELCHAIR van there on Wednesday this week for an oil change. Supposedly it was done and done correctly, and I received the website discount. However, I did notice oil leaking in both our garage and in the grocery store parking lot. Later in the day the car had to be taken to an auto repair place for work on the front axle (separate issue). They found that the oil drain plug had not been properly installed, and they had to re-do the oil change and charged us for it. Express oil change would NOT give us a refund even though we had to pay for the oil change twice because of their incompetence. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Went here for years, but I will not be returning. Recently, my son took his car in to get the oil changed. Apparently, the car was "running hot" and they had to "top off the coolant". They told me that it was a bit low on coolant, but they topped it off. He got the oil changed and drove out. 2 days later, the engine blew (threw a rod), apparently due to overheating (or maybe due to not correctly installing the oil drain plug... we will never know). After my mechanic told me that the car's engine died due to not having oil (again, it could have been this, but there is a very good chance it was simply overheating), I contacted the store and spoke with the manager. His name is Chabrol Johnson (he goes by CJ). He made me feel bad for taking the car to my mechanic and not taking it to him first (I told him I wasn't sure what the issue was, so I didn't want to assume it was their fault). He pressured me into letting them tow the car there for them to examine it. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I questioned him about being able to drive a car 87 miles on an engine with a thrown rod, he told me that you could drive a car with a thrown rod (sorry, this just isn't true... it would be undeniable that something was wrong and you would not be driving it all over town). After multiple exchanges with him, I decided that I needed to talk to someone who was more professional so we could get to the bottom of things. I ended up talking to the regional manager (Her name was Jill) and she was SO nice and helpful. We examined footage to prove that they did put oil in the car and had to add almost a gallon of coolant (which was very different than them telling me it was a "bit low" but they topped it off). Again, I find it suspicious that the car drove in fine and blew up 2 days later, BUT it very well could have been the coolant issue... That being said, my review is not because of THAT part... it is how the manager at this location (CJ) treated me. Disrespectful, rude, sarcastic and condescending and very unprofessional. I suggest going to another location where you will be treated better (should you find yourself in a situation where you need to speak with a manager). I will never be returning here. :-) read more

I had my tire changed out a couple weeks ago, and started to hear a rough sound right after. I paid 90.00 to get the lock cut off , and tire changed out to a new on the I purchased at discount tires. I took my car back to this shop so they can maybe rebalance the tire. They told me we can take a look at it, but you might have to pay. I cannot believe the nerve. read more

CJ is the best to lead a team! We were certainly sad when he moved locations but this one is closer than our normal spot. He's knowledgeable, willing to answer questions and concerns and treats people fairly. The crew was so welcoming and I was able to get pulled right into the bay for work on my husband's truck. From the moment I parked, I was greeted by an associate and knew exactly who I was & what I was coming for. This was a total difference from how I was treated at another location. The atmosphere is just so much better here. The crew was smiling and having fun but focused on getting right to the customer. I had the same experience as Adrianna (customer on Yelp). I should've read these reviews ahead of time. Smh. CJ, the manager, took $2100 from me and told me that it would fix the issue. When the check engine light didn't go off, they said it "wasn't anything wrong", it's just sometimes difficult to get the light off. I went to them 3 times before they sent me to another location bc they didn't have the proper machine. When I took it to Smyrna, it was actually $2600 more that needed to be done on the car!!!! Wow. Totally unbelievable, This is still an on-going situation so I will update when I get a solution. However, DO NOT take your car to the Ackworth location. CJ is a scam artist just as a previous person said. Take it to the location in Smyrna. Jo, Tom and the other guys there have been extremely nice about the situation after CJ made it their problem. These guys are spot on. No up sells. Fast and friendly. Oil change was about 10 minutes then switch over to the other bay for a tire rotation. Was in and out in about 17 minutes. Wish they had some coupons, highly recommend them. read more

Great service! It's apparent that this franchise model has a great focus on training the technicians in customer service. Impressed.

We got completely ripped off by this location! We paid $2500 for repairs only for the car to start acting up again the same evening that we picked it up. We brought it back the next morning, they ran tests. They did not drive it or pay any attention to the sounds the car was making. They said to call Honda to get the transmission flushed and that everything else was fine. I could barely drive the car the following day, so we took it to another shop. The second shop said that the work that had been done was not done right and that we were way overcharged. We then took it back to Express since we had already paid them to fix it to let them know the results of our second opinion. They kept our car overnight and the next morning they called us saying our engine was bad! They were very unprofessional throughout the entire process also. We told them that this was our only means of transportation for our disabled son who's in a wheelchair. We had to use money that we were saving up for his wheelchair accessible van to fix our current van, just so we at least had something to get him around in. Now we do not have a vehicle anymore and they got $2500 from us! They told us it would run for a couple more days just long enough for us to take it to a dealership and trade it in. They told us how to manipulate a dealership instead of owning their mistake! They are crooks and they have done this to at least two other people that I know of personally. After sharing this with several people I found out about some of their experiences. I will not even go back there for an oil change! We are reporting them to BBB. My truck was there for an oil change earlier this year. Two weeks later I came outside to a huge puddle of oil on the ground. I called Johnny ( manager) and they towed it back to the shop and said it was the drain plug , and they replaced it. I then drove it home and knew something wasn't right, it didn't have the power as it had before the oil leaked out. I called Johnny back and he said bring it back, I did and they said the engine and everything was fine, I knew it wasn't. I then drove it to the dealership for a second opinion, still running sluggish ,and they found that the driver side turbo has been damaged due to the lack oil wich operates the turbos. I then emailed the express oil clinics corporate office and guess who texted me back, Johnny, saying the VP will be contacting me... that was in March and no word from Mr. Vp and now Johnny himself has told me to not contact him about this matter. Because the turbo was damaged it has been a domino effect and has caused other issues with my truck. I've spent over $1,500 for the turbo and now $1,700 for the catalytic converters. I've contacted the BBB and they are currently investigating this case. I will hold them accountable until a resolve , as I have been very patient and long suffering with this company. read more

EOC does a great job. I'm new to the Acworth, GA area so this was a great find for me. There facility is clean and organized and all the staff is always extremely professional. The name doesn't serve them well though, as they do almost everything you need over and above oil changes and tires. My OBD2 sensor was messed up on my 370z and unlike KY, GA requires an emissions test on cars. I spoke to the Manager to see where to take it to get replaced or repaired and he said bay 2 and had me fixed up in about 45 minutes. read more

While it may appear that there a lot of options for oil changes and tires, trust me...This is the ONLY one you need. Professional, polite, caring while standing over/under an engine that has 600 degree manifolds when the humidity is 73% takes everything the human body can absorb, but when your car is being serviced they are all in for doing the job right. The place is clean and they take great care of your car...you may have to look for it next to Advance Auto Parts....it is worth it. read more

I'm pretty sceptical of car places. I worked as a mechanic through undergrad and grad school, the job is hard, training is tough, competition is brutal, and every car is different. It is really really hard to get good people to do a good job, at the price you want to pay, when you want it. Repair shops are SO hit and miss, but dealerships are largely inconvenient and incredibly pricey (and aren't a sure thing, either). Given that, occasionally you throw a dart at a local shop and take a chance. On a complete whim, stopped in the other evening at Express for tire balancing on a pretty obscure Aston...and they didn't blink. Zane took time to understand the need and propose a solution. They did what I asked, at the price quoted, in a timely fashion, and left my car clean and fixed. Not sure you can ask anything more. This isn't the place I'd go for everything, but they'll get more of my regular repair, oil change, service, tire/brake work and I think I'd trust my wife and daughter to take their cars there too...which from me is high praise in deed. I initially stopped in a competitor's location just up the street yesterday. The competitor didn't have any techs working "due to the winter weather". Considering the roads were completely dry, this put me off obviously. I drove a half mile down the road to Express Oil Change which is where I should have gone in the first place. They came out and greeted me before I could even get to the door. They were fully staffed, friendly and professional. I only did an oil change, but they gave my jeep a good overall check. No pressure for any additional services although they are full service mechanics. The price wasn't any higher then the dealer that I would normally use and Express Oil is a lot more convenient and efficient. An additional bonus for Jeep owners like me is that you can supply your own custom parts are they will install them for you if you don't have the time or gumption. I was very impressed and will be taking all my vehicles to this location from now on. read more

Showed up 10 mins before close, just needed air in my tires and was completely ignored.

I just moved here and didn't have any connections with good mechanics. I needed a oil change and break check and the mechanics were very polite and honest. They checked my break pads and said that I didn't need new ones yet. They could have easily try to lie and say I needed them and I didn't. I am now going here. They do full service except transmissions changes. They are now my new mechanics! read more

My car needed an oil change, so since I had a good experience with them the last time, I went back. The price is reasonable, the wait was minimal and customer service is always excellent. Naim greeted me with a friendly and welcoming smile. He showed me the AC and air filter, both obviously needed to be changed. I really appreciate the through inspection of my car and thr discounts he applied that I was unaware of. Naim was very professional and knowledgeable and explained everything. I have been using this Express Oil Change for several years now and have been pleased with the level of service and quality of product. I'm in and out in about 10 minutes and I have never had any issues arise afterward. They do a pretty good job walking the fine line between trying to sell you wiper blades and air filters and just 'recommending" various additional services they perform onsite. I understand people are trying to make a buck, but I've never felt pressured and I've rarely felt they were suggesting something I really didn't need. read more

Outstanding service center! This place is quick, the staff friendly and competent, and there is never any pressure to have anything extra done. I came here on the recommendation of a friend, and have had regular oil changes and my brakes done ever since. It is considerably more expensive than Car Spa or other similar outfits - $40 versus $25 -- but I feel like you get what you pay for. I'd much rather pay $40 for an oil change and have my car checked over by an ASE certified mechanic than to run through CS or Jiffy Lube or some such and person who's barely qualified to do much more than answer a phone tell me my car will explode if I pass on the $300 fluid flush. Both of my vehicles are pushing 200k, and the staff at EOCSC has looked them both over thoroughly, and made recommendations for future services. They told me the prices for those services UP FRONT and even checked out a weird noise I was hearing FOR FREE. (Checking out that noise involved taking off all four of my tires. It turned out my car was fine, and I was on my way in about 10 minutes.) I have some major repairs coming due, and as I don't plan on buying new cars any time soon, I'll be having the work done here, as it's a full service shop. read more

The district manager even took the time to drive me to my office (and offered to pick me up) while they were servicing my car. They go above and beyond their customers' expectations. I have used this place a few times. Every time they have tried to sell me services that I did not need. My wife used them and was was misled on the price of extra services that were not needed. When I called I was informed it was my wife's fault for not knowing what was being done.
