I read the reviews and was skeptical. I went anyway, thinking I might get lucky. No such luck. A tire with a nail in it, slow leak. They didn't want to tell me it had a nail in it. They just said it had no tread and was a bad tire. Not true. It has tread. This was enough to make us run. We took the car and left because they refused to fix the nail. Apparently, they feel it is more safe for us to drive the car with a nail in the tire than for them to patch it. So if they can't sell us new tires, they don't want our business. Now they will not get our business when we do actually need tires on any vehicle. read more

Today was it. after making 3 appts on 3 straight days to get my tires rotaTed only to be told it would be at least an our wait EVERY time. what's the use of a reservation. the staff is unwelcoming and generally uninterested. Originally came in for an alignment and noticed no change so went back only to find out my tires needed replacing. Wish I was told that the first time! Took their advice and purchased 4 new tires only to discover that, within 24 hrs, one tire had a leak and another tire was previously used (tread was smooth with no dimples found on new tires from factory). Normally this would result in 1-star rating but the team, to their credit, replaced the tire and fixed the leak the following day. I will come back but this experience proves to take nothing for granted and double check services rendered. read more

Dropped off the car at 845AM for a 9AM appointment for two new rear tires. Called at 1:30PM to check on it and was told there were a few cars ahead and then called again at 430PM and was told the same thing. At this point I just went in and picked the car up with the work never being done. Two tires shouldn't take more than an hour and it's obvious appointments don't matter at all. read more

I took my car in due to a rubbing sound comming from the rear of my car. They told me I needed rear brakes and roters. So I paid for the replacement. I took it back still questioning the rubbing noise. They still said nothing and said my brakes are good. Well, it was always my slip differental, that was leaking oil and causing that rubbing noise, NEVER was it my rear brakes. Then I took it to Minekie and in miniutes they told me the proboem and if this was the noises I was hearing, before my rear brake job, then it was never my rear brakes at all. In fact I bought my car from a dealer who replaced all my brakes 8,000 prior so there is no way I went though pads and roters in my rear only in that short of time. So They flat out lied to me and replaced brakes that never needed it and then charged me 100.00 more than they quoted me. Skumbags, and liars thats excatly the kind of employeess that work here. Sitting aorund doing nothing chit chating all day and clearly cannot diaginos a very simple poblem, that now the repair is over 4,000 which woudln't have been the case if Mavis did the proper diagnosis. Really positive experience here. Jerry the owner squeezed me in quickly and had my brakes fixed within 4 hours of me dropping off my car. My car had been making "grinding" noises in the back. I thought it might be bad brake pads/rotors and that's exactly what needed to be fixed. Jerry was fantastic to work with and honest! The pricing was very fair. I'm relieved and a happy new customer. Called 6 places to patch a nail in my tire. Everyone was too busy to get me in today. I called Mavis and they said they were busy but they would get me in. Mark was wonderful and took care of everything and Bryan the mechanic who did the work identified that I needed new brake pads. They left a McDonald's wrapper in the seat of my car. I came in with the wrapper to let them know that someone was eating in it and they said it wasn't them. They then told me that my car was done the day before so they couldn't have. Which they never called us to pick it up. I had to call to see if it was done. We left it overnight for no reason if it was done the day before. Very poor service. read more

What a great level of service auto repair. Had a weekend brake problem that was going to change our plans and called late in afternoon on Saturday and Jerry said bring it in he will get it looked at today still even though they were super busy. Got there and exactly as he said took it right back and fixed it all the same day when the dealer said it would take a week to get it in !! Not only did they fix it several of them stayed after hours to make it perfect with a couple adjustments where they could have just said it's fixed and left at 5 pm. Had the WORST experience there today. Truly the worst customer service. Shocked as I've been a long time customer and even referred people there. No more. Was berated and insulted by the manager in front of customers. When I asked him to address it and not keep talking about other stuff, glazing over his insult, his response was he laughed and said, "I said what I said," and laughed again. Then, a customer walks in and he tells the customer about our interaction. I have never seen management like this. Zero training or professionalism and I'm in management! Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Unfortunately I live close to this location and I can walk home so when you have tire issues you are sometimes stuck. First time using these guys for brakes on my GMC truck I had to go back 3 times to fixe a major squeaking noise and still it's not 100%. Second time I had a mail in my tire to have plugged and the crazy thing it they said it was repaired and I get home to find the nail still in the tire. They rotated the tires and just never did the plug. Next day I show up and get treated like crap. Very unprofessional with horrible quality. I have been going there since it was Kauffman. Jerry is the hardest working guy I have ever met. However, the in the last year their service and communication has gone downhill. There is a lack of communication from the front desk and the techs and back. I had a tire with a slow leak and had a vibration in the front. I was told that the issue was a bent rim in the back wheel and no leak could be found. When I picked up the car, the tire was low so the tech never aired it up. 2 weeks later the tire blew and I had it towed there. I asked them to recommend a different brand of tire, again and to check the front end as it was pulling to the right. I got a call saying that I my car was ready. They put the same brand tire that I have been having trouble with and no info on the front end issue. No call back, so I decided that I woud just pick up the car and move on. Was told that I needed struts and lower control arms. Drove the car home and it was no longer pulling to the right. Its too bad as I have been going there for 12 years. read more

I do not understand the negative reviews either. My family has had multiple vehicles get serviced at this Mavis location. I am always treated like I am the only customer. Other places would merely replace the tire rather than trying to fix/salvage a practically brand new tire with a nail. Jerry even helped us prior to being open for business, as we needed assistance. I would recommend this location to anyone. What you put out there comes back to you. Been to Mavis a couple of times for brake work due to its proximity to my home. So-so service each time. I am in the market for new tires so figured I would give them a shot. Found some Hankooks I was interested in. Their price $119 a tire. Walmart's price $87; a significant difference. They claim to have a lowest price guarantee; they make a big deal of it on their site so I filled out the form and submitted it. Got an email back from a subject requesting a call to discuss. Why?? I submitted a link to the Walmart page on their request form which clearly had the tire and price. Well I was curious so I called back and surprise got a voicemail. I left a message and surprise, surprise......no return call back. Don't bother making an appointment. I made an appointment to get my tires rotated, aligned, and have one plugged. My car was still sitting in the parking lot for two hours and they told me the come back that evening. I was charged for a rotation when they didn't rotate any of my tires except switching one tire with the spare on my jeep. A part needed to be replaced to do the alignment so we made an appointment for two days out. Wasn't in my budget for four, but he said I could apply for the credit card and get six months no interest. I looked around, all of the finer points of Kauffman have been removed. The lights were off, refreshment center gone, price list gone too. Store wasn't clean and fresh which it used to be. I felt pressured by Marc and he said the best deal was just under $1,000. I took a pic of the deal for two tires, which was almost $500. I drove home, did a Google search for my tires, and they were the MOST expensive store. I'm not sure why the low star reviews are on here. We have taken a few of our vehicles here when we've had mechanical issues. About a year ago we took a car here when it started billowing smoke and were told there was nothing wrong with the car, we had just added too much oil. They were honest and charged us nothing for the time they took to look at the car. On Christmas Eve my Son's car wouldn't start. We tried everything before having it towed. The keys were dropped in their drop box at about 9pm on a Friday (Christmas Eve) and I got a call from Steve 9am on Sunday. I was shocked, fully expecting to not get a call until Monday, being the soonest. They had already hooked up the diagnostics and had the problem identified by 9am. They would even have it ready for me by mid afternoon. He told me the price of a new starter, and when asked for a discount, he dropped the price a bit for me. We just picked up the car and my 17 year old Son is ecstatic to have his wheels back so quickly. This place was honest, efficient, fair and professional. I highly recommend this place! read more

He said his engine light went on and this was the first repair shop he saw, so he drove in and was leaving his car for them to diagnose and repair the problem. I was furious. He didn't check any reviews, didn't even ask friends or neighbors for recommendations. I just knew it would end badly. It didn't. They fixed the problem quickly and at a fair price. They didn't try to upsell him a lot of stuff he didn't need or tell him that it was a major problem when it wasn't. Since then we have brought two other cars in for everything from new brakes to construction nails in tires (Twice. In two days. For the same tire.). And all of this has been in about two months. We are very happy with this company. The people are really nice and don't treat you like an inconvenience (like when you need air because you don't know you picked up a nail). We don't normally need a lot of work done on our cars, but we are very glad that we found this at a time we needed it the most. read more
