The woman at the front desk gave me figures that didn't add up and was so slimy and sleazy in her quotes. She charged me over $200 more than the quote after I gave her my credit card. After I noticed it she then changed it but the figures were still off. I have a SUV with only 26,000 miles on it and went in for an oil change only. I asked Adam at Fenski to check my Lexus ES350 for a leaky water pump. It was actually a 2nd opinion check as a mechanic mentioned I had one but I wasn't seeing any signs when the car was parked in the garage, it wasn't running hot and I didn't smell antifreeze. Well, they did find a leak, but the price they quoted was higher than the original mechanic. They recommended I return to that person because they couldn't match or beat the price. I appreciated the honesty. They even offered to speak with the other mechanic for me to make sure I was getting everything taken care of that they discovered. I felt taken care of. I'm 70 and that's what my nephews would have done if they were here with me. I appreciate that, Adam! I will return for any other car problems I have. My experience was very negative. Very aggressive sales tactics. Not paying attention to all my requests and notes whatsoever. I went there just for oil change end up losing a couple of days and $233, and no oil change. First experience , I was trying to get a tire repair, scheduled an appointment with them, when I came for an appointment, It turned out they don't have any patches. Lost a day, but that's OK. Then, couple weeks later I came to schedule an appointment for oil change. I asked how much was an oil change. It was reasonable price so I approved it. I also asked them to check the cooling system and asked them how much the testing would be. Lady at the counter told me that she doesn't know and that she has to double check with the mechanic. I specifically asked her to give me the quote first before I approve any labor. Next day I came, there was no appointment in the system. I left my car, but of course nothing was done that day so, I had to leave the car over the weekend. Then I received a call that testing was already performed and I owe them $233 for it. Also, I received a list of over $2000 worth services of what needs to be immediately replaced in order to be able to drive this vehicle. I came down and spoke to the mechanic - he told me that it's not even worth changing in the oil if I'm not going to do the replacements and services. I decided just to take my vehicle and not to do any replacements and services. At the counter when checking out, I was told that the oil change was performed too, and I have to pay for it. I said that I spoke to mechanic and he was not going to do the oil change. The manager was very upset with me. He stayed calm though, didn't charge me for the oil change, but it made me look like I was just looking for a freebie- a way not to pay for their services. When I came home, I checked the oil. Of course, nothing was changed. There was a tiny black mark of old oil on the tip. During multiple phone conversations, I specifically told the managers that I'm not looking for any further services from them, but it was so difficult to get through their aggressive sales pitch. Like it was literally too much. It sounded almost like intimidation. Very pushy! So, that was my experience, namely - no oil change, charged $233, overall wasted time and unpleasant feelings during the interaction with them. It looks like it's a Christian shop, and an overall first impression was nice. That's why I came there initially. But I left very disappointed. I don't know. I went to Fenski Auto Repair in Buford when my regular mechanic was on holiday, hoping to get to the bottom of a clicking noise in my car. I suspected the noise was coming from the passenger side front, but wasn't sure. As the "car experts," I trusted them to diagnose and fix the issue. They inspected the car and while it has several problems being 24 years old, the root of my concern was allegedly the CV axles. Seemed reasonable but I still asked what seemed like a dumb question to me... " will the noise be gone after we swap the axles ??" Nathan -the service "advisor" said "absolutely buddy we'll get ya fixed right up." So I left my car with them over the weekend. They charged me $988 to replace the axles, but the clicking noise remained. I was told that they hadn't even test-driven the car before proceeding with the repair. I was furious of course I think anyone would be. So I left there understandably upset. The owner Adam called me afterward, promising to fix the clicking noise with no additional cost to me and guaranteed the work. He seemed apologetic and told me that it wasn't right that I came for a noise, paid a grand and left with the same noise. He explained to me that's not how he does business. For clarity, he absolutely agreed and even offered to fix the car for free considering the previous costs that I incurred. So, I brought the car back, expecting them to resolve it. The mechanic rode with me and within five minutes of being in the car, admitted that he'd never driven it until after they completed the axles and "didn't hear" the noise or he "would have never let it leave the shop." I understand he can only do the work that's been approved. Everything seemed promising and everyone seemed friendly so I left my car and went to run errands. Less than an hour later, they called to inform me that it was actually a "crossover bearing" issue and would need a separate repair cost. Adam informed me that they were no longer willing to eat the cost of said repair and that "they can fix it but it won't be free." I asked for some sort of refund on the axles that I did not want or need right away and was told "that's not going to happen." However, despite promising to fix the noise, they had already replaced the axles without properly diagnosing the root cause. While I understand that the axles might have needed replacement, they were not the source of the problem, which is why I initially brought my car in. In the end, I paid $1000 for work that didn't fix the problem. Conveniently, Adam was no longer on the property when I arrived to retrieve my vehicle. The hostility shown by the service advisors and the owner along with lack of proper diagnosis, communication, and accountability was extremely frustrating. I will not be returning to this establishment and would caution others to be wary when dealing with them. read more

Called in and spoke to the service manager, Stacy. I just asked for a quote on some simple maintenance items: to a change fuel filter and spark plugs and wires. She told me that she could not give me a quote on that over the phone, and that I would have to bring the vehicle in so they could inspect it first......Oh yeah, and that would be a $75 fee. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I tried to reason with her, and explained that this was simple maintenance and not a repair on an unknown issue so she should be able to quote me a price, but she was so stubborn and rude that she continued to refuse. Stay away from this place. They obviously will try to rip you off. read more

My daughter has had several problems with her 2015 Altima. After my husband tried to diagnose the issue, he gave up when I came across Fenski in the Best of Gwinnett for 2023. So glad I did! We had it towed to the shop, got a phone call under an hour and a half, they told us what was wrong, and the car should be ready in 2 days. The car was ready the next day! Fenski told me that my rear brake cylinders were leaking. They were going to charge $400 labor and $200 for parts. Pittman's Automotive in Buford said they would do it for $200. When Pittman's looked at the brakes, they were not leaking. Fenski also told me that I needed a new battery and were going to charge me $100 labor to install it. I went to Autozone where installation is free and they tested the battery and told me it was fine. Eric Radford was the technician. read more

I only give this place one star because I can't give zero. We had a motor put into my son's Silverado 1500 a few weeks ago, and noticed a small oil leak afterwards. Since the work was done elsewhere and too far away to take it to the original repair shop, we chose Fenski since it was local and highly recommended. We dropped the vehicle off to be checked out, and we were told that there were "multiple oil leaks" that would cost $800 to repair. We knew for a fact that the oil was not leaking as the technician said, and were very skeptical of his findings, to say the least. We had the truck towed to the local Chevy dealer for another opinion. At the dealership, where you usually expect repairs to be more costly, the techs did a complete, bumper-to-bumper inspection, found only 2 small leaks (valve cover gasket and a threaded bolt on the valve cover), and charged us $300 to replace both (with $150 of the cost being the inspection). I'm not sure why Fenski felt the need to try and take advantage of new members of the Sugar Hill community, but it has certainly been a very disappointing welcome. We trusted reviews and, even though they were nice and accommodating, they were going to overcharge us basically because we didn't know any better. Take this review as you wish. It's not to cause hard feelings, but to make others aware that some businesses aren't exactly honest. Especially to strangers. read more

Joe, from my perspective, the door panel has never been opened until your team touched my vehicle. You changed the actuator switch controlled by the driver master control. When the master control was re-installed, it was not properly replaced but I made no complaints, because all the functions such as all the locks and windows were functional. My error. Secondly when I called, the response I received in essence was that I am wrong. Customer service 101 is to listen and then accommodate and then decide together the next actions for resolution. I will not trust my vehicle with Fenski again and I plan on taking the truck to the Ford experts and pay more to have the repairs done correctly once. They understand customer service 101. Also, the expert repair of the "lock switch" now has a mind of its own and works intermittently. Best of luck. read more

I made an appointment with Fenski and was referred by a very dear friend of mine. I have a Volvo, and normally go to my guy in Gainesviellve, but figured I would try with them considering my guy couldn't see me until the next day. I dropped my car off for them to check it out. They call and quote me 797 totally with labor. I was extremely shocked considering I have very good care of my car and maintenance my car, so I decided to wait and take it to my guy a day later. I'm SO glad I did that because he quoted me $114!!!!!! BIG difference from 797. Needless to say I will not ever take my car to these guys again because I don't want to get ripped of!! read more

My experience at Fenski was nothing short of pleasurable. Friendly, Kind, Patient, Knowledgeable, Timely, Honest, and Fair wrap up my experience. I highly recommend giving them the opportunity to win your business. At a minimum, let them perform your next oil change and see for yourself. Here is my experience in more detail: I have a 1 year old Honda Odyssey which we trade in every 2 years for a new one, and we take advantage of dealer discounts for oil changes and have never needed anything else. I always took my previous Ford Truck to another local establishment for service, but I had lost faith with owner turn over, slow turnaround, and the poor condition of the shop. Since I have had the Chevy, I had been taking it to the Dealer, but no longer trust that they have the best prices, the best mechanics, and the client experience was slow and arduous. I had driven past Fenski countless times over the last 6 years as I drove to and from Sugar Hill Elementary School, but I have never thought of them until last week when the Check Engine light on my 2007 Chevy Avalanche turned on. I had Advanced Auto give me the Engine's Computer Code; they do it for free. Prior to going to the Dealer (ughhh) I decided to go an talk to Fenski... 1. The first thing I noticed was how Fenski keeps everything clean, from the parking lot to the office to the garage, which shows the pride and respect that they have for themselves and their business. This rolled right in to how they run their business and how they treat their customers! 2. I had a computer code from Advanced Auto so I took my truck and code to Fenski. John Dobbs - Customer Service Consultant, greeted me, introduce himself, and we discussed the code and what it meant. John took the time to explain what the code meant, and referenced the 7 different things that could be causing the issue. He explained how long it would take to identify which of the 7 issues was the culprit and provided an estimated number of hours for the work to be completed. I thanked him for his time and off I went. 3. I went to 2 other establishments to determine if my gut feel that Fenski was the right place was accurate. Their Friendliness, Attentiveness, Cleanliness, and Knowledge (or willingness to share their knowledge) was unmatched! 4. I called an scheduled a time to drop off my truck. Again they were uber friendly! I dropped my car off a few days later. They called me following the diagnostics, explained the needed repairs, identified the need for front break pads (which we discussed), they provided a price and I provided approval. They finished the job on time and at a fair price. I took the time to like Fenski on Facebook and to complete this review because these folks are the real deal! It is hard to find a good, reputable auto shop where you do not feel vulnerable due to your lack of auto mechanics knowledge. Very disappointed in the service i received today. originally i brought my vehicle somewhere else and was told one thing was the problem, and got a second opinion from fenski and was told they where fully capable of fixing it. my car was there for about 7 days, when i came to pick it up a very unhelpful female was checking me out and luckily John came and saved the day. John is the only person at this establishment that acts half descent or even like they have a brain. before i even left Fenski i had an issue reversing the mechanic said " you need to put a little man power into it" ...with an injured arm and being a woman i wasn't sure how "man power" was going to happen. Called a couple of days after taking my car..the issue was still there.was told that it needed to "loosen up" give it a few days...called again, unhelpful Angie answered and was unhelpful. Finally, after almost getting rammed into by a semi because i couldn't put my car in 4th gear i drove immediately to fenski. They did check my car quickly and now after seeing this yelp page i realize that the rude gentleman who initially spoke to me was in fact the owner. I didn't understand anything he said. I told him i wanted to talk to the mechanic, the mechanic basically said that it was something different BUT that it wants like that when i brought it in before....come on...so basically the mechanic didn't do his job. i needed my car fixed, they had it for a week and 1400 dollars later its still not fixed and unsafe to drive. My father also spoke with them over the phone and they blamed it on the cars age and condition. Besides needing a bath and vacuum there is absolutely nothing wrong with the physical condition of my 11 yr old car. SO i will say, thank you to john. I am so glad I took it to them because they were very thorough and honest. The man who was helping us was the owner I believe, joe, and he took the time to go through everything that was wrong with it with us, and gave us his professional opinion on buying the car for the price we were getting it for. We had been looking for an automotive center for our cars that are out of the dealers' customer care contract. Our insurance company USAA highly recommended Fenski. While we have not had to have anything done here, I have stopped by to ask about two separate cars, each with a different issue. The first one was my Toyota Highlander that we just got a new battery for and the people there said the contacts were corroded and they needed to be replaced. John took one look at them, used something to clean them, and they looked good as new. No charge!!!! I stopped in today because my tire light was on in my Kia. Asked if someone could look at them as the screen was showing the back right tire as lower psi. John again took care of my problem within five minutes and no charge!!!! DON'T BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!! I was having trouble with the starter in my car, so I had it towed here, since it had good ratings. After a couple of days, the replaced the starter, and I got the car back. A COUPLE OF HOURS after I got my car back, the car wouldn't turn over. Turns out, the battery wires was corroded, and they didn't even bother to check the first time. Why would they not check the battery? That's standard procedure! This time I brought it to a different mechanic, because of how poor the service was, and the inconvenience it brought to my family. We are still without the other car, and this all could've been avoided. The Fenski Brothers don't even deserve ONE star. Please take my advice! Don't come here! read more

I highly recommend these guys. I brought my car in on the day before Christmas Eve, it was not running well and the breaks were just about shot. I was hoping to wait till after the New Year to fix it so I could get thru Christmas but it couldn't wait. My former place told me it would be about $1200 to fix "everything that's wrong with it". Paying that would have taken all I had, so no Christmas. I was very worried. John went over everything with me and calmed my anxiety.
