Ran over a bolt on a Sunday and they got me in and repaired tire quickly and courteously.

I wrote a review about my experience at this location, but the experience of getting Mavis to reimburse me for damages was so frustrating that I feel the need to update and share the finer details. If you don't want to read on, the short version is this: Mavis negligently caused thousands in damage to my vehicle and tried every backhanded trick in the book to avoid paying out. 1. If you are not knowledgeable about cars, this store will attempt to upsell unnecessary work and convince you that it is essential. I came into this store looking for brake pads and was all-but-coerced into $1000 of work. Is that partially my fault for not seeking a second opinion? Sure. Does it change the fact that they ripped me off? No. 2. During my visit, Mavis took six hours to do a job that ordinarily requires two. 3. While doing this job (struts and shocks), Mavis mechanics negligently used improper tools and methods causing a great deal of damage to my vehicle. This was later confirmed by another store. 4. When returning my vehicle to me, it made a comically alarming noise from the area they repaired. I demanded a ride-along and they sent a front desk staff member who attempted to gaslight me into believing that the noise was to be expected. I demanded a second ride along with the mechanic who did the work. He lied directly to my face - knowing that he had broken parts in my vehicle - and doubled down on the car being perfectly fine. In fact, my steering assembly was not intact and it was extremely dangerous for me to drive that vehicle. 5. I took the vehicle directly to the local dealership who immediately found the damages. They could even identify the incorrect tool (pickle fork) that they had used to cause some of the damage. They promptly repaired my vehicle and gave me documentation to pass to Mavis. 6. I reached out to Mavis with the documentation and they promised to reach out after completing an investigation. I waited two weeks with no response before reaching out for an update. They claimed that the regional manager attempted to call me a few days afterward and had left a voicemail. I have no missed calls or voicemails for that date. I suspect that this was an attempt to stall past the dispute deadline for my credit card. 7. After getting in touch with the regional manager on a Wednesday, he took down my story and told me he would call me back at lunch or Thursday morning. He did neither. 8. I emailed customer service on Friday asking if he would be returning my call. They verified that they had just spoken to him and a call would be forthcoming. Never came. 9. I emailed them again the following Monday morning explaining that I was either going to get a call that day or escalate the matter. They emailed back the standard, lifeless "your concerns are being taken seriously" script and once again stated that the regional manager would call me. Never came. 10. End-of-Day Monday, I send another email asking if there would be a call and demanding a higher supervisor if not. They immediately had a customer service agent call me who explained that he had no update for me, but had simply been told to call and repeat the same lifeless script. 11. I demanded that the matter be escalated to the regional manager's supervisor. Magically, associates of the regional manager suddenly have time to reach out and discuss the matter. 12. I received a call from such an associate. I was promised that I could go to the Mavis store and be immediately reimbursed for the small portion of damage they agreed to make right. Naturally, all I had to do was wait for the agent to contact the store, confirm, and call back. Never came. 13. I received another call from a new agent who contradicted the previous fellow and insisted that I take a check and that stores never pay out directly. It took them a week to mail it out and another two to arrive. The time between Mavis destroying my steering assembly and them actually reimbursing me summed to over a month and a half. They managed to weasel out of paying for the most expensive damages and I don't have the resources for court, so I'm still down thousands of dollars from this nightmare. In conclusion, this shop upsold me on unnecessary work, knowingly damaged my vehicle, then tried to play every trick in the book to push me off and not correct their mistake. I spent a week without a working vehicle, emptied a large portion of my savings, and went through a great deal of stress to even get basic contact back from their customer service. read more

To be 67 years old and not know much about a car these guys come running to my rescue when my sensor light come on put air in my tires I wasn't even there 10 minutes even though it was so hot outside they're so professional so nice I would give this place an AAA in my opinion. If you are the elderly or Senior services like I am please book your time with Mavis I'm so glad I got my tires with them last month. read more

I want to file a complaint on the Mavis store and store manager Scottie and employees Adrian and Josh. I normally go to the Mazda place to service my vehicle but due to last minute college tours for my nephew we needed service fast. So my sister took my vehicle to Mavis and they took advantage of her for being a female that doesn't know about cars. She originally went for an oil change and ended up paying $400 that visit for brakes they claim we needed. Brakes were making noise for a few weeks afterwards we called up there and they said it was normal and they have to break in. Our tire light came on and my sister went there and they told her 3 of my 4 Goodyear tires has razor blades and nails on there. Which I told her was strange because how could I drive with that kind of damage and how is it possible that its 3 tires with multiple razors and nails. They charged us $900 for non brand tires. Told my sister my windshield wipers were bad and I needed new ones and charged us for them but didn't put them on the car. My sister took the car back about the breaks and they said they forgot to oil the brakes and took the brakes off and put them back on and said if the issue continued to comeback for refund. I took the car back when I realized my windshield wipers were not new. I get there and nobody on staff can put them on or know how to work on a car and they send me across the street to another mechanic place for my wipers and they told me they didn't have my size and they had to be ordered. They charged me knowing they didn't put them on my car. THIS IS DANGEROUS! I could have wrecked! In addition they trumped up fees on my invoice for AUDI, BMW, Mecerdes parts for my Mazda CX9. I don't even have a luxury car. We went back to get a resolution and the manager Scottie refused to refund us for the wipers they never gave us and when we asked them to check our breaks again because they are STILL making noise he stated he didn't have a mechanic on staff.. This place is unprofessional and unsafe. I have never seen a car place with no licensed workers. I want a refund for the overage or supplies for vehicles I don't have AUDI, BMW, ect. I want a refund for the wipers of $29.99 I was billed for that I never received and I want some kind of compensation towards the faulty breaks and any other services I was billed without my knowledge. Attached is the invoice that shows they billed me for stuff that wasn't part of my car and the video stills of my tires they destroyed. This type of business is dangerous. Called ahead to confirm availability of trailer tires, (I had had a blow out 3 miles from location). Representative asked about size of trailer before confirming capability. When I arrived the guys at the store basically rolled their eyes and said we can't help you because the trailer want fit in the bay. Thankfully I had my car jack. They stood inside and watched as I removed the tire and carry it inside for them to R&R the tire from rim. Then carry tire back out and reinstall my tire. Had to do this process 3 times. Chared me full price. There was 0 empath for the fact that I had a blow out and was in a real jam. These guys could not care less about customers. read more

I had two new rear tires put on my vehicle. they sent me out of there without my hub on one side and low air amount in both tires . I never left the parking lot and came back. they brought me back up to speed. They seem to be in a hurry to get out of there. Left town came back reaching speeds of around 70-78 mph vehicle was shaking real bad. went back today to get tires balanced. I paid to have that done with the new tires??? 2 hours later I come back. they're supposed to be Open until 6:00. I was there at 5:50. doors were locked. lights were out. no one around. luckily I had emergency key to take my vehicle away after my Uber ride had dropped me off. they said they would be open until 6:00 p.m. read more

Went to Mavis Tire and Brakes on Westchester Dr. to get a tire fixed that had a screw in it. They were awesome, balanced my tires and rotated them, checked the fluids, and checked my brakes and I just had to pay for the tire repair. They didn't try to upsell me and the manager (Nick) was a nice guy. I will complain if something doesn't go right but I will also give kudos if someone does their job right. I got all my break pads replaced and an oil change, prices were okay. They did a great job as far as I know, the communication and answering the phone is outstanding. I called a couple times with different questions and they answered on the very first ring, every single time. Customer service is great. I was on a vacation and ran over a nail in High Point, North Carolina. I took my vehicle to Mavis Tires & Brakes to have the tire quickly repaired. When I reached my final trip destination, I discovered that the technician had not put the hubcap back on, nor did he replace the valve stem cap. I called the following business day to tell the Mavis store that my hubcap was missing, and they told me they had a couple hubcaps at the shop. I said I would return the following week. When I returned, they said they did not have my hubcap. Further, they tried to claim that the hubcap was not on my vehicle when they serviced it, which was an outright lie. The manager, Jared, told me in person they couldn't discount the service but to send them the invoice for a replacement hubcap. So when I got home, I searched for a low-cost replacement and found an option on ebay, which I purchased. I received the replacement and sent a copy of the invoice to the manager, Jared, via Mavis in High Point with a detailed account of my experience so there would be no misunderstanding what the invoice was for. I mailed all this as certified mail so I could be sure the information arrived. Jared received my letter more than 4 weeks ago and has not made any attempt to respond. So now I am out the money to replace a hubcap that the Mavis technician did not reattach to my vehicle. I have awarded 2 stars instead of 1 because the tire repair has held up, and generally, the staff was very friendly. But I am very disappointed that my overall experience (service and resolution) were not at all satisfactory. read more

I brought the car in to have a flat fixed at 9:30 in the morning. I was assured that getting the tire fixed or replaced would be no problem. I stopped in at 1:30 to check on it I apologize for not having it done yet but distribute it will be done in about 45 minutes. I called at 3:30 they told me they were patching the tire should have it done in 15 minutes. 10 minutes later they called me back and said They couldn't patch the tire. So much for quality, service, or reliability. Ok, I'm editing. After a conversation and explaining to them how to do it, they were able to fix my tire. read more

Took my car here for an oil change and flat repair and i couldn't even pick it up until the next day. Last time I checked it should not take 8 hours for that. They are wildly overpriced, for simple things that still take them forever to do. Management is useless, I've seen employees make very weird comments about/ around customers. On top of that, when I got my car serviced it reeked of marijuana around the outside of the store. clearly management doesn't care there, if they let their employees be high working on cars. I wouldn't recommend this Mavis location to anyone. -2/10 read more

I had a wonderful experience with this Mavis! I was able to make an appointment online and be seen the same day. And they even called a couple hours ahead to confirm which I thought was really nice. When I got there Shane was super friendly and checked me in right away. All I got was a tire rotation but the tech was awesome so I was only there for maybe 20 minutes from parking to driving off! They mentioned a couple things I should check on but weren't pushy at all or tried to upsell me. The process was seamless and I'd highly recommend them! read more

Stopped to have a tire repaired. Was going to actually get a quote from them on my next tire purchase. Was told a hour and half wait. Made an appointment and returned in that time frame. Another hour wait over the one and half to be told the tire wasn't repairable. Being I was in the tire business years ago knew their goal was to sell me tires. Had them to please just put the tire back on the car which they did and left it low on air pressure when returning my car. I left and drove to a station and put air in my tire and went to a small one person tire shop who proceeded to repair the tire which I knew was possible. Needless to say not going to do anymore business with this company. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Went in for a routine tire rotation and oil change, 2 hours later they called and suggested I replace the battery, I agreed but the car made a lot of funny noises afterwards. And I wonder if the battery really needed to be replaced. When the car was declared ready for pickup the tire rotation had still not been performed as a result of internal miscommunication. claimed that the car also needed new brakes to my daughter when she returned the car but mentioned nothing about this to me when I picked up the car days earlier. Had the brakes inspected by another services center and they were fine. I think what bothers me most besides the poor communication is there are no numbers from this shop to back their clames, ie.... "Your brake pads or worn to 2mm, your battery voltage checks at 10 volts etc...." read more

I had a nail in my tire that could not be patched so had to order a new tire. Was given a great price compared to some of their competitors. I live close by and asked if I could leave the car there and have my wife pick me up. They agreed but instead of my wife picking me up they actually gave me a ride home. They have definitely gained a new custome. read more

management very weird and nonchalant. guess he was having a bad day , the technicians don't do their jobs. i've witnessed one of them i'm not sure of the name but i've seen them smoking something around the backside of the building, i've even seen some walk to the dumpster area. not sure what thats about but i wouldn't want them working on my car if they are under the influence of anything. very very short staffed. all of management is useless and i wouldn't recommend. the owner was there and he seems useless also. they mess up people cars a lot too. so sad read more

This is the worst place I've ever dealt with. I went with my daughter just for tires, then they tried to say she needed brakes, rotors, a new battery. She ended up just getting tires but then they tried to tell her she needed a tire pressure sensor because she didn't have one when they removed the tire . THAT WAS A WHOLE LIE!! Just had them replaced last year and there were no warnings lights on telling her she needed it. When they finally finished installing the new tires, her car was making a clicking sound and tire sensor light was on. They removed the new tires that they just installed only to find out they had broken the sensor in the new tire and that's why the warning light was on and making a clicking sound. Then while we were there a gentleman came in for one new tire, they tell him he needs a new battery. Nothing wrong with his car except for a new tire, they talked him into a new battery and then his car wouldn't start when they put new battery in!!! You go for one thing and they break other shit so you spend more money. They told at least 5 different people they needed stuff they never came in for or really needed. DONT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM!!! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS...BEWARE OF THEM!!! If I could, I would rate them negative 0000 bottom of the barrel!!!! read more

my first and will be my last to Marvis Tuesday 1/3/23 one of tires sensor light was on, went into Marvis tires to get a look at and the front desk guy said I need one of the tire sensor change out, I agreed and paid 98.00 for one sensor 45 minute, he told me to drive 20 miles and the tires sensor light will reset it self, tuesday to Friday the sensor light is still on, called them and told me to bring it in another 45min to hour of my time, apparently the first guy didn't do it right tires because he failed to read the sensors with the equipment, after spending over an hour, friday both tires is not reading the tires pressures, they failed twice to fixed, told me to come back next week because I don't have time to wait I have to be at work, Monday 1/16/23 call the store speaks to the manager Jay? now he is telling me I need to changes all four tires sensors, im out $100 out of my pockets, no sensors working and he wants me spend more money to fix four tires sensor when only one is not working in the begin.
