Just terrible customer service and very poor communication. I think they are short handed but I'm the only person here....I've been here for 45 minutes. I had purchased tires from this place a couple of years ago & was very happy with the it service. Yesterday I encountered a completely different response. I had a screw in one of the tires, unable to fix they offered different tire options. That's when it got strange. They basically switched on me, stared with a tire of 159, when I returned for pick up it was 189. Then the tire pressure was bizarre . Every tire was redone & not to spec. Be careful using these folks. They are not really knowledgeable. read more

NTB High Point NC. Made an appointment for tire rotation and balance with phone call. No order #, just verbal come in an hour. Arrived at agreed time. Waited over 2hours. Asked 2times why so long. No explanation. 3rd time had to confront Preston... never apologized until I paid. The excuse... we had to wait for balancing weights. Never took the initiative to explain. Bought my tires from them. NEVER again! Possibly an isolated experience. Still... one bad experience is most likely predicated upon many others. read more

The service is also great. Their work is very reliable. However they are also short of help and their wait time is a little less desirable.

Ultimately, one of the worst auto service centers that I have experienced. Disorganized, poor customer service, inefficient and ineffective management and overpriced services! Inattentive, detached and incompetent service advisor. Filthy bathroom. No hand soap and no paper towels. When brought to the attention of a staff member who stated that the problem would be corrected, failed to follow through to ensure customer's needs were met. Highly recommend that consumers avoid this NTB service center! Given manager's lack of response to my complaint, will contact NTB Corp Center. read more

If you have a foreign car do not come here. I brought my own brake pads for service on my Porsche SUV. The brake light came on after I left and they told me that it would go off after a few miles. It never did. I finally took my car to the dealership and they said the sensor line had been cut costing me $233. I went back to NTB. They asked if I had a picture of the cut brake line for evidence, I guess. I didn't. They said there was nothing they can do. Check out the picture attached. I have been going to Merchant's for over 10 years and once again I am pleased with the service and worked performed. Having been acquired by Tire Kingdom, I became skeptical that I would continue to receive the friendly and fast service I had experienced in the past (the slimy Tire Kingdom commercials don't help). Earlier this week I made an appointment 5 days in advance with another, locally-owned, auto repair shop only to be disappointed. The other shop treated me as if I had dropped-in unannounced and wanted new tires the next day. I left and went to Merchant's. At Merchant's not only was I treated like a valuable customer, they were able to accommodate me without asking or appearing put-out. As a result they got my 1200.00 business! I have read other reviews that are negative and I am at a loss. I have never experienced the treatment described in those reviews. The only thing I can think of is I have done my research before I go, I know what I want, and I give them plenty of time to do their work - usually dropping off the car on Friday night and picking it up the next afternoon. I did have one unsettling experience when they were still on Parris Ave: while picking-up my car from a routine emissions inspection I was presented with a list of recommended service items totaling over a thousand dollars. I didn't take them up on this - I know what I need and when I need it and this felt a little like a scam. It may have been an honest attempt to drum-up business on things that were not 100% up to their designed abilities but, clearly did not require immediate attention. read more

If I could give this center zero stars I would. They did not change the sensors when they rotated my tires. They did not attach the oil filter correctly when they changed my oil so oil leaked all over my engine and my driveway. They also told me I needed repairs that I didn't. I am a woman and they have never made me feel uncomfortable or dumb because I might not understand like a man would. They have explained what was wrong and showed me what was wrong. This company is horrible , and i dont know how they stay in business. I have finally found an honest mechanic ,and he is the best. I was recommended to him by a co worker, and he is the best. There are other mechanics out there that are honest, and take pride in being good mechanics. All merchants does is hire a bunch of monkeys to screw people over for the benefit of their superiors. A flat tire for a single mom is always difficult but I am prepared. I called my roadside assistance, got the donut put on and got my son to daycare safely. The guy who put on my donut tire showed me the screw in my tire..$20 fix. Since I live paycheck to paycheck I was thrilled. Drove straight to Merchant tire, told him the problem, he looks at the tire and all my tires. He comes back and tells me the screw is in a spot that can't be repaired so I will have to buy a new tires and all my tires are bad and reccomends a Full set of new tires. Well, two of the tires are only two months old with a couple thousand miles on them including the tire with the screw. Little did he know, I knew two of my tires were ready to be replaces and was planning on buying 2 new tires from him but since he can't tell the difference between a new tire and an old tire I took my business down the street where they patched my tire and sold me two brand new tires. I think Merchant Tire would do better to deal honestly with their customers. The shop was not busy and i told him I had no other transportation. I could have only been about an hour late for work but instead I had to miss 3/4 of my workday. Also i think its shameful to see a woman come into your shop with a damaged tire and refuse to fix it. read more
