I brought my 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander to the Mavis Oldsmar location because one of my tires had a screw in it. Because of the significant pressure loss, I wanted the tire fixed as soon as possible. I called the location at 9:34am on 8/12 and was told to bring the car and they would take care of it right away. I was told I did not need an appointment. I was there within 15 minutes. When I arrived, I was told by Jeremy the wait would be approximately 30 minutes. After a few minutes Jeremy told me it was actually going to be an hour because someone had left. I waited for an hour and a half. After that entire wait, I looked outside and my vehicle was still sitting exactly where I had parked it. No one had even looked at the vehicle. At least 4 cars that came in after me, were serviced before me. I went to the counter and asked for my keys because I was going to take my vehicle somewhere else. Travis was at the counter at this point. He told me he would take the car right away and do it himself and he was sorry he didn't know what happened. Jeremy came back into the waiting area and started to argue with me about the wait time. Denying he told me it would be 30 minutes twice. Indicating he told me it was going to be over an hour and that I didn't have an appointment. He was the one that I spoke to before I went to the shop and he is the one that told me I didn't need any appointment. He told me to go somewhere else when I asked for my keys. I completely understand that a busy shop can experience delays. What I don't understand is telling a customer the wait will be 30 minutes, allowing them to wait 90 minutes without even looking at their vehicle, and then arguing with them. I'm appalled at the way Jeremy spoke to me and treated me. After all of that, Travis told me I needed a new tire because of where the screw was located. After all of that, I never got the tire fixed because I refused to spend a dollar in a place where I was treated so poorly. Especially when I did my due diligence and called before I went there. The lack of communication and especially the employee's attitude and response were unacceptable. I hope Mavis corporate management addresses this because customers should be treated with professionalism and respect, even when a location is busy. read more

It truly is a shame as I have been going to this location for over 5 years and had been very happy with the service that I have received. I called this morning to make appointment for tire repair ... Person on phone said I did not need appt. I said I would be there about 1:00 .. he said great When I walked in a little after 1:00 and first question was "Do you have an appt?". I explained my phone call in AM .. he said it would be 2 hour wait or I could come back in 2 hours. Took no responsibility for earlier bad communication and said maybe it was a "call center" - if that the case perhaps some more training at "call center" needs to take place. I went to this place and was going to get 4 tires. I had to put a deposit down $25. After ready the reviews I decided to cancel my order. I went to get my deposit, but didn't have my receipt. I went back with the receipt and now I needed the actual card. The manager was rude and condescending. I understand that I didn't present the receipt but when I went back I did, why not just have me do the Apple pay to refund just like I paid for the deposit. Read all the reviews. As a former customer I am not happy with the missed information that was given to me and the up charge they tried to pull, now mind you this shop had new employees And not the previous ones, so that should have been a tell sign. Not only because they lied about the part I tried to have them check and feeding me a bunch of mumbo-jumbo; but they wanted to charge me more for the same part that had warranty. I felt like they were trying to get one over me, and my gut told me not to proceed and to go somewhere els. This shop is very honest. Went in because I was told by another shop I needed an oil pan gasket which can cost up to $600-700 to clean and seal. Turns out it needed an engine gasket that was only $245. They could have very easily told me I needed both. read more

My daughter's tire was leaking at a rapid rate. After asking around, many people suggested taking it to Mavis and they did not disappoint! They got her car in without a problem, noticed the valve stem was leaking, replaced it, inspected the rest of the tire and we were on our way. Couldn't be happier with my outcome... Had a "low tire pressure" notice on my car for months. Took it to a local westchase full service repair shop on multiple occasions with lots of explanations but the issue never resolved (and yes, I asked about a slow leak in the tire which they said was not the issue - on multiple occasions). Came to Mavis - the culprit a nail. Tire plugged and fixed - no charge and in/out same day (no appointment, just dropped in). And guess they are more then tires and brakes (which is on their sign so never thought to go there for service needs). Stopped at this location today for a pesky slow leak ( without an appointment) in right passenger tire. Service Manager Dan took vehicle in immediately, patched leak and at my request, replaced wiper blades. I was in and out in 30 minutes with a bill that was exceptionally fair and reasonable. Dan and his team were welcoming and the consummate professionals throughout. Best service, workmanship and responsiveness I have received in years. I've been having one of my cars serviced by Mavis (Oldsmar) for years, and I have never been disappointed. I went back a couple of weeks ago, and Charlie helped me. Wow! I wish I could give him 10 stars. Talk about true customer service. Mavis is lucky to have him. This isn't my first time having issues with this company. I worked for a company that would bring them parts daily. I would get uncomfortably hit every single time by more than one worker to the point where my manager threatened to stop sending parts to them..the past is the past but this was my first encounter and a little insight about how this company is run. My dad went here about 2 months ago for an air conditioning problem. When that was fixed, my dad immediately noticed the input aux didn't work. Took them 2-3 weeks to finally find time and a technician to fix that in his car and luckily at the shop he realized that the radio was not working. Had them fix that while he was there. It has been one issue after another since he has brought his car there. Very shortly after that he noticed his heat not working at all. It's cold out and he has no heat. He originally came in for an air conditioning issue where the dash needed to be taken apart. He called every other day for them to check it out and they didnt have a technician there or they ask him to keep the car over the weekend. The part to the heat could have been brittle in the first place but we 100% believe that it was broken in the shop. Now they want him to pay for them to fix it when it's been extremely clear any and all issues are related to the first time he brought his car there. I do not recommend them and had I known my dad was bringing his car there I would have told him about my experiences with this business and while growing up here in Oldsmar you hear things. They are extremely understaffed and once they break something it is relevant to them to fix what they broke at no fault or care of their own. The few technicians that are there are moving so fast and not efficiently thinking in the first place that they slip up and break more than what you anticipated and on your dime. Sucks to have to write this review but it's now winter and my dad has no heat and you are doing nothing to fix all of the mistakes you made. read more

Set up my appointment on line. They gave me a great discount on 4 new tires, the exact ones my son told me to buy! They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. The manager here is very good. 4 new tires, oil change, alignment and new rear brakes, in and out in probably 2.5 hours. My TPMS light came on as I was driving past this Mavis location so I pulled in and despite being pretty busy, Adam and Dan got my car in the shop in about 15 mins. The valve stem had gone bad so they replaced it at no charge! What I thought was going to be a very long afternoon of waiting and expense, turned out to be about 30 minutes and NO expense. I bought the last 2 sets of my tires at this location (when it was previously Advantage). I called Mavis at 5pm Friday when I found 1 of my tires was punctured with a HUGE thick nail-like piece of metal. Luckily, I still had my receipt from purchasing tires there when the location was Advantage. I scheduled an 8am appt for the next day (Sat), showed Charlie at the front my tire purchase receipt when I arrived, & he acted polite & professional - they took great care of me & my vehicle. I had tire repaired, all my tires rotated/balanced, & was out by 9am. The tech even came to show me the metal piece that was in my tire (because of how big/textured it was). I was so glad they were able to repair my tire, & in such a caring & professional manner. I've never used any other place for my tire purchases/repairs, & continue being a satisfied customer. I still highly recommend because they take care of their customers & want to make sure all customers are satisfied. read more

So entirely disgusted and disappointed in Mavis Tires Oldsmar. My first visit was due to an overheating issue. I had my tow company tow to Mavis Tires in oldsmar. Greg called me back later in the day and stated the radiator had a crack in the top where a hose to the overflow comes out. Unfortunately it is not repairable and had to be replaced. I did see the radiator. Radiator, fluid, system check $1161. Within a few days the car overheated again and had to leave it in a parking lot overnight. Checked the car in the am, fluid was gone. Had to have car towed again to Mavis in Oldsmar. This time it was a small plastic piece towards the cabin. $54.28 After this car overheated again and was stuck in South Tampa. Car was towed back to Mavis to find out that there was a hose that needed to be replaced. Said they did multiple checks, took the car out for a ride, let it run said it was fixed. Another overheating and my patience level was at its max but I brought it back (I was actually able to drive it this time) each time because they are the ones that originally fixed it and everything was warrantied. I was told to take it to the Nissan dealer and bring it back to them??????? Sound ridiculous right? This time it was an issue with the overflow tank, meanwhile I spent money on gallons of antifreeze for each time the problem reared it's ugly head again. Greg said it was all fixed again and the same thing happened with the overheating. He explained that the system was a pressurized system and that the cap on the radiator and overflow was apparently wrong and not holding pressure therefore that is the reason for it not working. I assumed it was fixed and now mid November we are right back and the same issues. This was a car for my son, we checked the car every day or two and again fluid was leaking out until finally going over the Howard Franklin bridge the car stopped running at 2:30 am of which he was stuck until AAA could tow the car yet again,almost a one hour wait in the middle of the night. Car doesn't start, towed to a mechanic in Seminole which he ran a system check and diagnostic said the heads are blown. Was it the first, second, third, fourth or fifth time who knows but considering the loss of fluid I would say one of the first. Such a total shame and yes I absolutely hold them responsible for the ultimate end to the car. I want to warn customers of my situation as again having your son call you stuck, 5 tows, being stuck late at night, 8 gallons of antifreeze. If they couldn't fix it, then they should have said so and not continually take my money and charge me for more and more. Took RV for new tires and breaks prior to a trip and break pads were installed wrong leaving me and my family stranded on side of the road 4 hours away from home, not only was this extremely dangerous for my family but also to those around us as this is a 22,000 lb vehicle. I've had multiple oil changes here and every experience has been great. The staff here is very friendly and my car is always ready in a timely manner. A while back my check engine light came on and I took it to the guys at Advantage. They checked it inside and out, found nothing wrong with it and sent me on my way. 9/10 places would find the smallest problem and charge you a boatload of money to repair it. I get free oil changes through the car dealership I purchased my vehicle through and I would still rather pay and get my oil changes through Advantage because I know I can trust their work. read more

I debated the price and they knocked down the price $100. If you go there, get a written estimate, then go somewhere else and get another estimate. I Purchased tires and their service was great and done in a timely manner. Ask them to check my brakes while I was there and they stated that they were in the gray area. When I go up north I use my mechanic who is very trustworthy. I mentioned what I was told and he said he has never heard of breaks in gray area and they are fine and come back and see him next year. If I could give this place zero stars I would I have spent over 1500 and I've been to this location multiple times each time for a simple problem that turned into a huge estimate and due to my inexperience with cars I stupidly agreed and once was forced to drive my car with no power steering home due to them ordering the wrong part lying to me on the phone and refusing lower the estimate due to the inconvenience of me having to come get my car essentially two days later than I was quoted and yelling at me; while asking me to lower my voice. As a female taking your car to a mechanic is incredibly stressful especially when you don't know much about cars to begin with. I am also new to this area and have no family or friends out here to drive me to work or to pick up my car thus wasting money on ubers due their stupidity! so to be treated so terribly is appalling to me if you want to spend over a grand and still have the same problems with your car this is the place for you.
