I've been to this Mavis Tires shop a few times and every time I need their services, Mavis never disappoints. On February 13, 2025, I had a hole puncture in my tire so I drove over on the "donut" and Mavis tires sealed the hole in my tire and removed the donut and put my original tire back on at NO CHARGE!!!!! Mavis ALWAYS makes me feel very comfortable and their reception area is very clean and relaxing while you wait on your car. By far the most frustrating experience I've ever had at a tire repair shop... I called this store this morning around 11am to see if there were any open appointment slots for the day - my front driver's side tire was completely flat and needed to be replaced. I was told if I brought my car in right then, it would be taken care of. When I arrived ten minutes later, I was told it would take around 2 1/2 to 3 hours to replace the tire. After 3 hours, my car hadn't been touched. I asked about it and was told it would take another 2 1/2 to 3 hours as "two appointments are ahead of you." After ANOTHER 2 1/2 hours, my car STILL hadn't been touched. I requested my keys back and opted to take my business elsewhere. I don't normally leave reviews like that but felt I had to so I could stress how completely unacceptable and disrespectful this experience was. I have no second car and Ubers are scarce at this rural location, so the only option was to wait. I NEVER would have brought my car in had I known it would take longer than six hours to put a new tire on. I have no problem making an appointment for a later date, but DO NOT tell customers you can take care of them right away when you know you can't! Made an appointment for an inspection last week for today at 8am (typically takes 20 minutes). Felt bad that I showed up at 8:05am. Went to the door but no one was there. Stood there for a bit but no one showed up. Called their phone but was put on hold and then told they were running late and to put my key in the box and they'd call me. No problem right??? Well... called for a ride home, no problem. Two hours later I hadn't heard a word. Called their number. Was told that I would be contacted by the regional manager. Nothing. Another hour later called their number. Nothing. Four hours later I called the customer service number. Was told he couldn't do anything other than transfer me to another customer service associate and she was rude. She said Christopher, the regional manager, would call me within an hour. Well... he called to tell me the site where my car was didn't have power and that no work was done on my vehicle. Not once did he offer me an apology for not contacting me earlier. Not once did he offer me a solution. He told me to just go pick up my car. When I arrived to pick up my car, the man there simply handed me my key. Didn't ask my name or anything. On August 8th,2023 my wife brought my daughter's Hyundai Elantra to the shop "Mavis Tires and Breaks" in Waxhaw, NC to check the breaks before a long trip to California. The shop replaced all 4 breaks pads and charged me $844.37 My daughter drove the car to California and upon getting there I drove the car and heard a noise when breaking. Took the car to a local shop (Midas) on August 26th and they had to replace all the break pads because they were close to end of useful life. This costed me additional $640.18. My repeated attempts to contact Mavis in the last month have gone un-answered. In addition to the safety issues of not having good breaks on the car during the long trip to California we had to leave the car in the shop for a full day and pay more money for a job that was just performed by the Mavis in Waxhaw. There is no Mavis shop in California so we could not use the lifetime warranty. We should not have to replace the pads after 18 days and 3,300 miles. This was 100% Mavis responsibility but they did not stay behind their jobs. I would suggest going to a more professional business next time you need to service your car. read more

They run a scam! Do not take your car here!!. I called and got a price on a set of tires. It ended up I was talking to the call center. He gave me an outdoor price. After my tires were installed. They charge me $170 more than what I was quoted. They even said I didn't pay the $25 deposit but my bank records show that I did. Dishonesty is everywhere! it's such a shame. UPDATE: I called corporate. They promised me a phone call back from the district manager within the next two days. I never received such phone call. I called corporate back this morning and spoke to a so-called manager there. He told me that he was with the manager KYLE from the store yesterday and KYLE tried to call me. So I called the store and spoke to KYLE and he told me that he never even tried to call me this week so the manager from corporate just lied to me. As I pull in I see 3 workers smoking cigarettes in the back of the building and the shop has 2 cars inside. I am then told it will be awhile to get to me. I will never return here. My fiance and I recently had the displeasure of working with this Mavis. Mind you I've gone to other Mavis locations with zero issues, so I would just do yourselves the favor and avoid this one in particular. My fiance needed a new tire. Mavis said ok we will order your tire, come in tomorrow at noon and we will put it on. We arrive the next day for our noon appointment to find out Mavis ordered the wrong tire. They tell us they will have the correct tire the next day for us to come in again at noon the following day. We arrive at noon the next day, only to drive away at 4:30pm. 4.5 hours for them to change ONE TIRE. My grandmother could figure out how to do this in half the time it took Mavis to service our vehicle. The best part is unfortunately yet to come. Mavis stripped the lug nut. They never put another one on either. Just sent us away with the car and no lug nut on the tire. So we're trying to get the brakes done now and can't remove the tire because these fools have the key to our tire. We called them and their "professional" response was for us to "come back and we will give you the key back and put a lug nut on." They're kidding right? The tire can fall off at any time and they want us to drive it back to their pathetic excuse of a service department? Mavis Waxhaw you are a serious liability and someone is going to get hurt if you don't change your careless practices. Three strikes in one visit and you're out. This was truly the worst experience I have ever had getting work done on my vehicle. I feel taken advantage of as a woman without intricate knowledge of car maintenance. Not only did they do work I did not ask for, charging me over $200 for said work; When I called to speak to the manager about my itemized bill, he was incredibly rude and unprofessional. These people clearly do not care about customer service. I called and asked for an "out the door price" for 2 tires including tax and all fees. While this may sound redundant, and it is, they either didn't understand or played stupid. Against my wife's recommendation to do business elsewhere due to their terrible reviews, I decided to spend my money in town as I usually try to. I was concerned so I decided to just drop off the wheels and not leave the vehicle. This would prevent me from having to wait with the car, and also make their life easier. When we dropped them off I wanted to confirm the price. They tried to charge us more and claimed Michael who quoted us the price over the phone didn't work at that location, but rather at the call center. I gave them the choice of honoring the price or lose the sale. I came back to pick them up at the time they said they would be ready, and of course they were not ready. They asked me to come back in 1.5 hours. I said "it is almost 11 now, so when I come back at 12:30 they will be ready for sure?" He replied it will probably be later this afternoon because they are short staffed. I asked if he just found out they were short staffed between telling me 1.5 hours and his next sentence that it would probably be later in the afternoon. They make constant empty promises. Additionally, when I picked them up they again tried to charge additional fees. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! Spend your money where you are appreciated and not where they try to rip you off with additional fees. If I could give negative stars I would. My husband moved to NC over the summer of 2015 and started having our vehicles services here because my husband's parents were customers. We spent a quite a bit of money on three brake & rotor jobs and new tires, between my inlaws and ourselves a couple thousand dollars just in the past year. So comes the time to register the vehicles in NC now that I am living here, plates come and we can't get our NJ plate to come off the rear of ONE of the vehicles. So we take it to Summerfield so that they can use their pneumatic gun. I pick up the car and I'm charged $110. To remove ONE plate!!!! Yes you read that correctly $110 to remove ONE license plate. I complained to the owner and he states that the plate was really stuck on there and took two hours of intense labor therefore charging me $110. I pay and I'm pissed. I get to my inlaws and I show my FIL the bill and tell him I was robbed and I feel taken advantage of as a woman customer dealing with an auto service company. He feels guilty because he referred us there in the first place and so he calls the owner who again states that the bolts were so hard to remove and yes we are good customers but he can't refund me. He will offer 15% off our next service. Really? We will NEVER patronize your business ever again. You are a thief and take advantage of women. read more
