I was so excited for a Max & Louie's to open up here in Cibolo, yet so disappointed when I finally made the time to bring my family to this location. I ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka pasta and it came out dry, cold and flavorless. The reason I got this specific dish was because I saw the picture here on yelp, however, what I received did NOT look like the picture. Looks can be deceiving, even with food. My daughter needed a refill and her refill came back with no ice and rather than the sweet tea she requested, it was unsweet and room temperature. The ambiance was nice, it's brand new therefore it's always beautiful. But I'm not the eating the restaurant, I'm eating the food, and the food was terrible. read more

I was raised in NYC. I've eaten at several New York deli restaurants. Max and Louie's is excellent. It's as close as you can get to eating in a Bronx or Manhattan deli. It's not Kosher but the food is great. My wife had a pastrami sandwich with onion rings. I had a corned beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy on the side. We ordered a knish. I know Knish is doubling down on the potatoes but I hadn't eaten a knish in years. I think they used green onions and probably a little sour cream in the dough. Even the coffee was good. Bring your appetite. The service was above and beyond. The atmosphere was perfect for such a large place. An easy 5 stars! Ps. Thank you Alisha you're a great server. read more

Horribly MID and untrained uncaring staff. Everything here is generic. Pizza? Generic like it came from a corporate design team. Completely bland with zero character and chewy cheese. Reuben? MEH, overloaded with bland meat. For $20 I'd much prefer a sandwich I could easily bite and a size that isn't overwhelming and impractical. it's like they stuffed more lame meat in as an apologize for it being weak. (this is the second time I've had this and from 2 different locations but with the same MEH result.) They mixed up parts of the order and the staff didn't seem to care much. It's way overpriced and the staff shouldn't be there without decent training. The lights are on, but no one's home. Skip this place. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. My family and I waited almost two hours to be seated, and things didn't improve much after that. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and it arrived at the table cold, which was a huge letdown. The service was also lacking. We were only checked on once during our meal, and it seemed like the staff was overwhelmed trying to keep up with how crowded the restaurant was. The one bright spot was the affogato--it was absolutely delicious and easily the best part of the meal. I'd recommend ordering that if you stop by. Overall, though, between the long wait, cold food, and inattentive service, this visit didn't live up to expectations. read more

Tried this place for the first time today but we won't be back. The food wasn't bad, but the front desk would not seat us (despite tables being open) to "allow their kitchen to catch up". If you're kitchen can't handle the restaurant even when it's not at max capacity then you've hired the wrong cooks or expediters. Do better, take notes from places like Gristmill who do not have that issue and seat and feed people quickly read more

Ordered a Rueben and the wife ordered Pastrami. When the server brought them to us I thought we were in for a treat. Didn't happen. The flavor was great no complaints there, the problem was the meat was tuff as shoe leather. Not satisfied with their product. Someone doesn't know how to cook that brisket, that is what pastrami is after a two week brine with the all important juniper berries. read more

Great food and a lot of it. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is like an old dinner.

The place is kind of pricey. Portions are about the same compared to comparable restaurants. French toast is great, Belgian waffle was a bit hard. They actually knew how to soft scramble eggs. The breakfast sausage was kind of big and started to overwhelm me. The syrup was weird as well. Being the first time there give it a three star because of the cost vs quality is not there. TBH IHOP can do for way less if wanting breakfast. read more

Food was delicious, friendly staff and good service even on a Saturday morning. We ordered the Eggs Florentine, Chicken and waffles, Pancakes, Southern Breakfast, Calzone, Spaghetti and meatballs, French toast platter, Potato Pancake, Bagels and Philly Cheesesteak Omelet. All of the food was delicious. The only one I was a little disappointed on was the waffle as I prefer crispy edges. The food was fairly good. I ordered the chocolate chunk pancake platter. For the price, the portion is generous, a stack of three large pancakes. The sausages are massive and tasty, but unfortunately were cold when they came out. The eggs were pretty good, perfectly runny. The pancakes were piping hot and fluffy, but they were stingy with the chocolate. I thoroughly enjoyed the mocha. The service was quite friendly and helpful, we were sat quickly. The restaurant was clean and polished, as you'd expect upon opening. Overall solid experience, but I still enjoy the other locations better. read more

Cibolo location: Fries, burger, and calzone were delicious. frankfurter was good. Hot pastrami sandwich was only meat and bread, it was ok and coleslaw was blend, lacked flavor. Lemonade has no refills and it's not great, it's Minute Maid machine type. Managenent is great and we're very attentive. Server was funny, super nice and very attentive. His name was Ryker. Ask for him as he is amazing! He really cares and provides an outstanding service. Love that they clean tables with what seemed sanitized individual wipes and the menus as well. All super clean. Bathroom needed a little more attention but not too bad of a mess for a Saturday. Loved the music and atmosphere. Will go back to try their shakes and other items. read more

New max and louies is very spacious unlike other location off bitters road. No wait as sat at the huge bar area. Came during brunch hour so ordered the French toast made with challah bread. Portion was pretty huge so glad I did not order additional meat and eggs as addition. The coffee was also very good here. read more
