Came by here finally and really enjoyed the visit. The restaurant is so cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly. We started with the carpaccio which melted in your mouth and was simple but fresh. For mains we tried chicken Maxine's and the chicken parm. To be quite honest I felt the chicken Maxine's sauce to be a bit watery and not as creamy as I hoped. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy, but I think more some cheese to add saltiness and a thicker texture would do it well. As for the chicken parm, the cutlet was a bit soggy but nicely seasoned breading, and everything tasted extremely fresh and like it was made with love. Overall I'd love to come back for brunch or perhaps bite 30 just to try other dishes and enjoy the lovely atmosphere!

I recently went to Maxine's on Shine for a brunch date, and it had been years since my last visit. My date made reservations, which I highly recommend because it does get busy. We got lucky and found street parking nearby, which was a plus. It was a hot day, so we chose to sit inside where they had a nice live performance going on the atmosphere was definitely a vibe. Our waiter, Steve, was great and attentive, starting us off with water right away. I ordered the Sangriato, which was pretty good. For food, my date ordered the steak & eggs and I went with the shrimp omelet, both served with potatoes and a biscuit. Unfortunately, my meal was just okay something about it didn't quite hit for me. On the other hand, my date enjoyed his meal enough to take the rest to go. Overall, the service and ambiance were really nice, but the food was a bit of a hit or miss for me this time around.

We had reservations at 630 but I was hungry earlier so we popped in to see if they could accommodate us. It was a yes with a smile. This began a lovely evening for us. We were there for the Magical Dining and this restaurant did not disappoint. Each person on staff was friendly. Our server Myah was exceptionally friendly. She gave great descriptions of the specials. The manager stopped in and checked on everyone in the place and then the owner made his rounds. So friendly. The food was really good and the decor eclectic. We will definitely return to try their famous brunch.

This was a unique restaurant, definitely not some place you'd expect to find in Orlando. The decor was adorable, staff was friendly and the food was great. We came for Magical Dining and got to experience a variety of tasty items. I didn't love that majority of the seating was outside as it was quite warm and muggy. It is nice that it's a dog friendly patio as we definitely need more of those in central Florida! Street parking was ample considering it's Orlando. Can't wait to come back and try their brunch!

Wanted a memorable Anniversary dinner and we definitely got it at Maxine's on Shine. It is nestled in a residential neighborhood so parking during peak times can be a bit tricky. We did make a reservation and arrived shortly after they opened at 5pm. Our immediate feel was that we were entering a speakeasy. Cool decorations, intimate yet casual indoor/outdoor seating, private dining area in rear and plenty of staff. Tables and bar were starting to fill up for their happy hour. Mia our server made her introduction and took great care of us throughout. They had a three course magical special along with regular dinner menu. We started with libations then onto a caprese salad appetizer. Our entrees were Maxines Chicken and Pasta and Beef Lasagna (a recipe taken from the former Italian restaurant that occupied the same space). Both were delicious! We passed on dessert but one of the owners (Mr. Maxine) cane to our table and personally toasted us with a limerick and champagne. We truly welcome the opportunity to return with or without an occasion. Enjoy!

How cute is this place!! We were welcomed by 3 different employees as we were waiting to be seated. We sat at the bar where Ivy served me the most awesome Bloody Mary! Everyone was just soooo nice! Ivy, Tom and Steve (I took a picture of them that I wanted to post but apparently I didn't save it ~ sorry guys) especially had the best customer service! Oh yeah, it's a rather small space so making a reservation would be best. There was even a lady playing acoustic guitar. Parking was minimal so you may have to park a few streets over and walk. The home fries/potatoes were delicious so don't forget to grab a side of those.

We recently went to Maxine's on Shine after hearing so many wonderful things about this hidden gem. It is beautifully decorated, and feature some artwork from local artists. The server was very attentive and gave great recommendations for food and drinks. We went for a bite 30 and the deal was amazing. It was happy hour during that time as well and the five dollar sangria was a great way to start our evening. I chose to have the caprese salad, and the chicken Maxine's as my entree. Both were delicious and fresh. I cannot wait to return for brunch and the regular menu.

Fantastic experience. Maxine's has an eclectic vibe that is pretty cool. The service was excellent, our guy Derrick took great care of us. As for the food, the braised brisket was exceptional. It's an absolute must order and Maxine's is a must visit.

Celebrated my birthday with my family. Friendly staff, tasty food. We went early for brunch on a Sunday morning. Stout braised Brisket was the best item we ordered. The breakfast potatoes were great. Quiche was good. My son said the chicken was dry in his chicken & waffles. They did a champagne toast for me for my birthday that included a glass for my husband and a non alcoholic drink for my son. Go check it out.

Took a friend for her birthday. We opted into the Bite30 menu. I'm vegetarian and there were many great options. The food was so good & great portions. The hospitality from Maya and Mr. Maxine were top notch. Loved the home-y environment and the local art.

Went here for brunch and overall had a mixed experience. Just like many other reviews mention, parking is definitely a challenge, so plan ahead. The decor is really charming and fun, and with the beautiful weather we opted to sit outside. Our server was excellent. She was friendly, attentive, and made the experience more enjoyable. Most of the food was okay. I ordered the brisket with grits, which had okay flavor, but unfortunately the biscuit it came with was rock hard and not enjoyable. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, which came with scrambled eggs and gravy on the chicken. Overall, a nice spot for the atmosphere and service, but a few inconsistencies with the food.

Went to Maxine's for brunch and had a good time. It was a slow Saturday, so even though we had some folks in our large party they were really cool about everything. I want to start by saying that our server Derick was great. He was very good at making the desired accommodations. One of the reasons that this review is a 4/5 stars is because the kitchen does not seem to be great at listening. Someone in our party ordered the veggie omelette without mushrooms, the kitchen made it with mushrooms, fortunately our server caught it and asked them to remake it immediately, so that Person's food didn't come out too much later. However, there was a different person who was supposed to get a seafood omelette, and the kitchen had made it with brisket instead. That individual's food took a bit to arrive. We also requested that the plain waffle that was ordered not have powdered sugar on it, but it still did. I ended up doing the chicken and waffles. Overall, it was good, but I did have one complaint. I saw that the entree was served with gravy, but I did not see expect the sausage gravy to be on top of the waffles, and since the waffles are sweeter than average, I just found that choice to be gross. The fried chicken with the gravy was very good though. When the server noticed I was not eating the waffle, he ended up bringing me a quarter of another one plain. The plain waffle was pretty good. I wish it was a little crispier, but that is just a personal preference.

Let me start by saying that if I could give more than five stars I would! I came here for brunch for my birthday last weekend and had the best time. We made a reservation well in advance and my group was seated in the private room in the back, which was really nice since there were 9 of us and it made it easier to talk and not have a lot of background noise. Our server, Steve, was really kind and patient with us and made great suggestions. A few of us ended up with the largest size mimosa I have ever seen, but for the price it was totally worth it! Food wise, I ordered the friend green tomatoes and the chicken and waffles. Both were so good, honestly no complaints. And then after all of us had finished our food, Kirt came back with a surprise birthday toast for me! Overall, everything was so amazing from the drinks, to the food, to the experience. I will definitely be back! Thank you for making my birthday so special :)

The ambiance and feel of the bar is very "sultry" and "intimate." The mood lighting, dark paneling/interiors paired with the bar itself being lit to be the center of attention, lends itself to the secretiveness and LURE that a modernized speakeasy would provide. I truly enjoy stepping foot into this little hidden, but NOT so hidden, gem (which can be accessed from the interior to Talay). Service can be slow at times - especially when they are busy. However, the staff is usually always gracious, helpful, and willing to serve. The few great mixologists I've met there have also been very willing to break down how they make their drinks and really give us a glimpse into their world. So, I'm appreciative of that. That is not something that you can always expect at bars. As for the drinks (and food I'll glaze over), I am usually not left disappointed. I appreciate that seasonally they play with their drink menu and introduce new cocktails. I also love a handful of their signature drinks on the menu. This may be the only bar I've had a drink with Aperol in it that I actually ENJOYED (and not tolerated). The pricing can get high depending on what you order, but for the area and the going rate of a night out, they hold their own. Definitely don't pop into Noir if you are looking for an AFFORDABLE cocktail experience because the tab will creep up on you. The food is OKAY. They share a kitchen with Talay and offer some items not on the Talay menu - which is nice. However, I rarely eat when I visit, so the few times I have, it's been okay. Nothing to truly brag home about. I am happy, though, that they did start offering food because in the very beginning (when they first opened), that was not an option. Anyways, Noir Bar is GREAT (to me)! I will keep coming here and recommending it to others. It's also great for a date night or night out with your friends. It's in a decent location - but please take heed of parking in this area, as it can be challenging to find FREE street parking. However, there is parking available all around and in various garages nearby.

Real good vibes. Orlando obviously has no shortage of places to eat, drink, and gather, but Alfie's belongs to that rare category of venues that feel equally at home in a major metropolis. It's the kind of spot that would fit seamlessly into Los Angeles's best neighborhoods: think Gold Line in Highland Park or the Vinyl Room at the Hollywood Palladium. Not because they're carbon copies, but because they share that intangible quality of genuine discovery and cultural curiosity. The crowd ( age range 25 - 35 mostly ) was genuinely engaged with one another. People were actually talking, actually present, not hunched over their phones. That alone felt invigorating. There was an undeniable spark in the room. Alfie's wasn't chasing trends; it was simply allowing them to emerge naturally. What impressed me most was how they brought it all together .. Retro stereo equipment and vinyl players from the 50s mixed with a bar area that's super sleek and modern. We looked over the happy hour menu (good all day on Monday nights and Tuesday through Friday 5-7pm). We ask Mel about the "Bartender's Choice" selection under happy hour drinks. She said the bartender will mix a drink of their preference. The customer cannot choose the alcohol or any mixers as the bartender makes the decisions all by him or herself. Mel asked if we had any allergies or any other issues that might affect the drinks the bartender would like to make. We said we did not and we decided to take on this "choice" experience. Serena was the bartender of the evening and she did an amazing job. She mixed up various concoctions for us throughout the night (we ordered a second round after the first one) and we enjoyed every drink she prepared. The presentation of the drinks were also well done. Serena's cocktails consisted of bourbon, rum, and various ingredients which could include bitters, lemon, agave or other cocktail mixers. She was the bartender extraordinaire of the evening. For food, we ordered the half dozen chicken wings (2 orders since they were so good) and the pizza empanadas to start. The two empanadas had mozzarella cheese stuffed inside and were served with a warm marinara. From the main menu, we ordered the Faroe Island Salmon, which was served on a bad of risotto and tomato butter, with capers. The portion of the salmon was somewhat small for the price of $28, but it and the risotto were cooked perfectly. We ended the night with their signature drink, "Death in the Afternoon" which contains absinthe and is one of my favorite drinks here in Orlando. It was another five star experience and my friend found a new restaurant she now loves. All in all, a great night thanks to the attentiveness and easy-going attitude of Mel, our server, and the exceptional cocktails from the bartender, Serena. Thank you both for a job very well done!

The meatloaf was crispy and moist and paired nicely with the onion ring & the dessert we ordered was fresh and light but just the perfect amount of sweet. This long of a review displays how much of a good time we spent in this restaurant and how delicious the food was, haha. Definitely give them a visit.

Super cute bar and shop in East End Market!…read more We came in for an appetizer and a drink, while we waited on our reservation at Domu , and it seemed like a lot of others were doing the same! Our server was very kind and she gave us recommendations for appetizers and my friends chose the garlic bread and the whipped feta. Both were very delicious! The whipped feta had this sweet jam paired with it. I got a tequila cocktail, I forget the name, but it ended up being a little too sweet for my liking. Their little ship had cute Knick knacks and the ambiance was very warm and welcoming! I would love to come back to try more food and cocktails!

The Neighbors is a cozy little hideaway that's perfect for grabbing a drink after exploring the market. We had already eaten downstairs, so we just stopped in for a couple of cocktails, and it was the perfect way to wind down. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Just a heads-up: seating is pretty limited, so I'd recommend arriving a little earlier if you're visiting during peak hours. Whether you're looking for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap after browsing East End Market, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

What a way to start the weekend. I had been in shade before just to stop in for a cocktail. I…read morereally enjoyed their espresso martini and the white kimono. But this time, I actually got to dine in for an appetizer and get a different drink. This place is always packed and vibrant and lively. We decided on the place last minute. Definitely recommend making a reservation. We were lucky to get two seats at the bar - the last two in fact. I got the transparency issue and it was what the bartender called "adult juice." it was sweet, but also very light in floral with the rose essence. Great alternative to my usual drink. My friend got the coco craze and WOW! I was impressed. The drink was so tasty and refreshing and yes, it was THC infused. We asked the bartender how much approximately the drink contained and she said about 6 mg for this drink and the other two drinks offered were 5 mg. I would get it next time for sure. I chose to have the pork belly to have a bite, and it was so tasty. The slaw and the pork belly went so well together, and it was a good combo of savory and sweet! On Fridays, they do have a DJ in the evening.I have not been on Saturday or Sunday to confirm if they do then but it definitely adds to the ambiance. She was great! Definitely a nice place to get together with friends, they do offer happy hour for drinks as well as an oyster special on Tuesdays. I know they have brunch menu, so maybe one day I'll be popping in for brunch to check it out.

Even with such a large party, the service was very good, and I loved the overall vibe of the restaurant. It's cute, trendy, and definitely a fun spot for dinner and drinks in the Mills 50 area. The menu is tapas-style, and I only tried a couple of dishes--the lettuce wraps and the Caesar salad bites. Let me just say: GET THE CAESAR SALAD BITES! Hands down, they were my favorite and the most memorable thing I had. I would come back just to order those again. The lettuce wraps, on the other hand, left a little more to be desired. I ordered them because I was trying to keep things on the lighter side, but they were very simple and didn't come with any type of sauce, so I felt like they could have used a little something extra. For my drink, I had a glass of Albariño, which I enjoyed. Overall, I think I would personally lean toward Lamp & Shade more for the drinks, atmosphere, and social vibe than the food, but I'd definitely come back--and those Caesar salad bites are absolutely getting ordered again. One thing to keep in mind is parking. There isn't a dedicated parking lot for the restaurant, so parking in the Mills 50 area can be limited. Your options will likely be street parking or valet. Overall, I'd recommend checking Lamp & Shade out, especially if you're looking for a cute spot for drinks, small plates, or a group night out. And seriously...don't skip the Caesar salad bites!
