UPDATE: another successful visit to Max's! We visited for drinks and apps on a Saturday and they still had Happy Hour going... on a Saturday! This is one of the few places that has HH on non-weekdays which is AWESOME! We sat at the outside bar and were served on by Heather and Christa and the Manager Danny even stopped by to check on our experience. They are super attentive to our needs and even provided excellent suggestions for drinks and apps. Heather made us two spicy margaritas which were freshly prepared and had a strong kick, which I loved. We also ordered the calamari/zucchini app again because we enjoyed it so much last time. It was just as good as our last experience and it was the perfect app to share with my group. Max's is always a pleasure to visit, the people, the atmosphere and the food make it a go-to spot for me and my crew! ---------- Walking around Mizner park, my husband and I were looking for a relaxing and entertaining evening and we ended up at Max's. It seemed to be a very popular night for them and we were still seated right away. Our server, Christa, was super friendly and attentive to our needs while also managing a full bar, impressive! She provided excellent drink and appetizer suggestions. I ordered a citron spritzer which was super refreshing and enjoyable. We tried multiple appetizers, all delicious and must-try's. The lettuce wraps had a sauce that added a spicy tang to the wrap that kept me wanting more. The calamari/zucchini app was like a traditional fried calamari but includes a twist of lightly fried crunchy zucchini slices that were a unique addition that elevates the dish to another level! We also ordered the sticky wings which were my absolute favorite. Normally, sticky wings are overpoweringly sweet but Max's version has the stick with more savory than sweet. Christa made sure we had plenty of napkins for us to fully enjoy the sticky wings! I cannot say enough about the service, the food and drinks arrived quickly and the manager, Dan, stopped by several times to check on us as well. All the employees that served us were very friendly and seemed as if they enjoyed working for Max's. The restaurant overall has something for everyone, live music, outdoor seating which has a bit more activity or quiet indoor seating for those who want a low key evening. The restaurant sits in the heart of Mizner in the perfect spot for enjoying the atmosphere and people watching. Our experience was nothing less of exceptional and we will be back VERY soon! read more

I always make sure I find time when I'm in Florida on vacation or business to have dinner at Max's Grille. It never disappoints. The Tomato bisque soup was a perfect start. We then had Mushroom chicken and Shrimp crusted Mahi. Everything was delicious. Our server Audrey was a pleasure and very helpful when we asked about our old time favorite miso glazed salmon which is not on the menu and will be missed. Free table bread? No, even better- free table hummus. I've never seen that, so that was pretty cool. I came here with three girls, and we each ordered a salad. I was torn because all of the salads sounded filling and appetizing. I decided on the Max's chopped salad. It didn't contain boring, generic ingredients; it had chickpeas and green beans just to name a couple, which I thought different and refreshing. I loved the crunch. It turned out to be large enough for me to take some home for dinner tonight. As for the clientele, this was Mizner during the day after all. We were the youngest ones there. The wedge and kale salad, and the margherita flat bread are a few of my favorite items off the menu. I have been a fan of Max's Grill for years. However after two recent meals there I am no longer a fan. My family went there for a brunch and I had a nearly inedible quiche. The rest of the others meals were below par too. I wrote it off as a bad day for the chef snd made reservations for my sister and me for Thanksgiving. The turkey dinner was terrible from the dry turkey to the burned roasted veggies to the dressing and lumpy mashed potatoes. Such a disappointment. I can no longer recommend Max's. read more

3.5 experience. I've been hanging out at mizner park for years but never stopped by max's grille before. After a long week we decided to have a date night here on a friday night at around 8pm. We were immediately taken to our booth then greeted by our server. She was very quick, attentive and helpful throughout our dinner. To start, we ordered a bottle of wine and it was professionally presented by our server. We ordered the brussels sprouts as an appetizer that was perfectly crispy mixed with shiitake mushrooms topped with asiago and balsamic. She also brought out complimentary bread with hummus, it was ok the bread was thin and dry. For entrees, we ordered the popular crab crusted snapper and the 14oz ribeye. The snapper was perfectly topped with the crab on a bed of potatoes & asparagus. The ribeye came out with a side of asparagus instead of parmesan fries. We were fine but then realized it was more overcooked than how it was ordered so we let our server know. She quickly took the plate and we waited a bit for his new plate to come out. It was a little inconvenient but the server did all she could. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake with ice cream and packed our food to go while we finished up the rest of our wine. I came here to visit family and was taken here. They were packed and had live music playing. This place started out great when they made accommodations to seat us right away despite the wait... but then it went downhill. It took forever to get our meal. We never had a waiter refill our water or check in on us during the entire dinner. When I got my food, it came out cold. I have no desire to come back here unfortunately. read more

March 2022, came here for lunch after the Museum with friends. We sat outside and ordered lunch, the service was fast and food was great. We both ordered the Lunchbox, half of a Turkey Sandwich and a small Caesar Salad, just enough not to get too full. I forgot want my other friends ordered, but their meals looked great and I did not hear anyone complaining about their dish. No wonder they have been here for 30 years. Exquisite! I was here for lunch. Party of 7. The ambience is old dark wood and reminds you of old Hemingway. The crunchy breadsticks with spectacular humus is a welcoming touch. I had the crapese chicken sandwich. Did I say yum? Holy moly! It's like joy exploded in my mouth. Wow the food was incredible. I had the tuna burger and it was delicious. My tomato bisque was also very good. And she had a chicken on whole wheat. French fries were delicious. I met two friends at Max's Grille in January while I was on vacation. I hadn't been there for several years, so I thought it would be a good choice. Unfortunately, it was not. I had gone to my friend's country club for brunch that day, and I was not at all hungry. I ordered green beans, just to nibble. The tap water tasted bad to me, so I asked for a bottle of water. The server told me that they just had one size bottle, and I said that would be fine. When they brought the green beans, they were extremely salty. When I told the server, he said that he would send the manager over. When the manager came, she said that they would make them again without salt. When they finally came, they were as salty as the previous order. They said that they would make them again. By this time my friends were finished with their food so I said to skip it. I got my bill and it was $8.00 for the bottle of water!!! To add insult to injury, I asked for the top of the bottle so I could take the rest of it with me. They said that they throw away the tops. So I paid $8.00 for about 1/4 bottle of water. I asked to see the manager. When I told him the story, he could have cared less. As I was leaving I asked to see the female manager who had come over to the table. I told her the story and she was very apologetic. She took my address and said that she would send me a gift card and hoped that I would come back. That was almost three weeks ago, and predictably I never received the gift card. Fortunately there are other choices of places to eat in Mizner Park. I will definitely choose someplace else in the future. read more

I have been coming to maxs grill for years. I have to say you guys are really pushing my family to spend our time and money else where. The service is awful now a days. Brought my out of town family here for dinner and our server was terrible and unaccommodating. Forgot almost everything. Forgot Our soups and appetizer, didn't get some entrees correct, no refills... Since then I have been occasionally getting carry outs to spear myself from the poor service dining in and you guys forget something in my order every time. Something like a dressing or side. put a little care back into what you do. If I spend 9 bucks on something as simple as a tomato soup, you fill the container up half way and I don't even get the goat cheese and crostini, which is the best part! Now a days I pay more and get less here. Times are tough for everyone, not just restaurants.. I work hard for my money and when I spend it, I deserve to get what I am paying for. read more

What a good place to go for Sunday lunch. It's a little noisy, but we managed a quasi business lunch anyway. The service was good and friendly and the seating was comfortable and spacious. My meal at this place was very good, but ended up being ruined by rain while sitting outside :( The service was very good though and rushed to get our check before we got soaked. We started off with the calamari and zucchini, which was really good. For my main dish, I had the shrimp tacos, which I thought were pretty good, but man were they messy. They really overstuffed the tiny shells with too much. I ended up having to dump them out and eat it like a bowl with a fork, kind of. Very tasty, just a huge mess and not what I was hoping for.
