Very busy place around lunch time, especially on weekends. No reservations for parties smaller than 10. We had about a 20 minute wait for a table of six. Valet parking only inside their lot, $5. But you can park for free across the street in the Galaria structure if you don't mind walking a bit. Food was good. Service was good. It was good. Not a fan of valet parking but it worked out. Enjoy!
Max's filipino fried chicken is a classic when going to this restaurant-- can never really go wrong with a simple fried chicken. Also got the kare-kare and lumpiang shanghai. The kare-kare's stew was too thick and there was not much beef. Just like the fried chicken, there's not much to go wrong with the lumpiang shanghai, so that was good. I did like the atchara on the side of the egg rolls. Service was decent. We ate pretty quickly, so not much interaction aside from ordering and asking for the check. Food was brought out pretty quickly so props for that. Overall, I would honestly stick to going to Gerry's Grill if I wanted Filipino food in a similar setting to Max's Restaurant.

Calling the establishment can be challenging using their automated systems. Too many steps to follow before you can speak to a live person. The tables are routinely cleaned, turned, prepared and ready. YOU WAIT--before you're seated. This is a popular place for their cultural culinary traditions of foods, beverages and desserts. A lot of "big parties" and social gatherings. It's a lonely place to "eat alone" but personally, I thrive in my loneliness. Sometimes I may not be greeted in the first-instance when I approach the reception, a place where food is orders, delivered and items charged (to-go and delivery pickup) I recommend when service personnel are engaged in conversation with fellow patrons, employees or customers on the phone---that in the "first-instance" you make "eye-contact" with someone waiting for service--Please stop whatever you are doing OR simply raise a hand gesture to acknowledge the person and or designate other members of the staff to assist and facilitate their service. Often business establishments lose their sense of organization when business is busy. Customers should not determine how your business flows. Businesses must learn how to manage their customers just like their employees. The restaurant is always clean and bathrooms are maintained and well stocked and operated. Part II: Customer Satisfaction (what happens after) I have dined in-house and placed food orders to-go. I enjoy the garlic rice, fried chicken and other vegetables and dessert dishes. I recommend Max's for big parties and social occasions. Buyer Beware and Enjoy. * Customers too have a responsibility to manage their own expectations, experiences and expenses.
I've been dining here for the last decade although it's a 45 minute drive since the atmosphere brings a nostalgic feeling. We've ordered fried chicken but it tasted dry than usual, pancit was great but not a lot of vegetables and sizzling pork sisig which was not served sizzling and full of fat rather than meat. Service was slow too and nobody offered a water refills. Max's glendale was a hit before but not on my recent visit, so dissapointed and will be hesitant to bring back friends and family.
Valet parking only. On a Monday night, the wait was short, which was a plus, but unfortunately the food was a big letdown. The pancit canton was rubbery and tasted overcooked. The pork sisig was worse,it had an oddly sour flavor, like chopped pork soaked in vinegar. It didn't taste right at all. I'm not picky with food, but this was hard to finish. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place.
We had a magnificent and memorable time celebrating my godmother's surprise 70th birthday party inside the private room at Max's Restaurant in Glendale. The staff and Tita Maria (owner/manager) provided excellent customer care and service from the time of booking and choosing the food items and menu for the dinner buffet and reserving the dinner buffet party up until the very end of the surprise birthday party. The private room was nicely decorated and set up for our birthday celebrant and guests. Max's staff even had a monitor set up to show videos and slides during the party. We even had music playing and the emcee hosting the celebration. Tita Maria we call her is the one that was the emcee during the celebration. She was also the event planner and menu planner at Max's. For the buffet, the food items served were, Crispy Pata, Kare-Kare, Sinigang, Max's Chicken, Lumpia, Pancit, white rice, Gulaman and Sago, Calamansi juice, Buko Pandan to name a few. They even provided to go boxes for all the left overs so the guests can take home the food. This is the 3rd time our family and relatives reserved a celebration at Max's Restaurant in Glendale and they always delivered with excellent customer service and delicious food. They have a parking lot, but its valet. $5 is the cost and theyre pretty fast. The host greeted us and we were sat within 10 minutes of our party's arrival. It is a family style restaurant and the ambiance was casual and very homey. The food was delicious! We were a party of 5 and we still had some left over food at the end. We got their signature fried chicken. It was moist, and it had the right amount of crisp on the skin. We got an order of their appetizer of lumpia and they were delicious. Small enough where you dont get full, but dangerous if you dont keep track of how many you ate. We also got the kara-kara (i may have spelled it wrong) but it felt like a home made meal. Their rice was nice and fluffy, just the way I like it. We also got an order of the glass noodles and that was by far my favorite dish of the evening! The server was extremely nice and checked on us every so often. The restroom was nice too! Can't believe this was in glendale this whole time. It was also a restaurant that my friend had on his list that he's been wanting to try. We will definitely be back.
We recently had the pleasure of having a private room reserved for my family to celebrate an event. I believe they gave us 15 minutes prior to the event start to really add any final touches but the set-up on the tables were already perfect and nicely laid out. The staff were also all very quick with drinks while some people haven't arrived inside yet and they served many of the foods efficiently and quickly while tending to any requests. The menu picked and served to us were some classic Filipino favorites: pancit bihon, white rice, crispy pata, pork sinigang, kare-kare beef peanut stew, and lumpia shanghai. There were multiple plates of the food, leaving us all very satisfied and filled. They gave us an appropriate amount of time before coming in with desserts. We were served a nice small bowl of ice cream and gelatin. Meanwhile, Maria who was in charge of the event as the coordinator, was a great host and stuck to our cues for carrying out the planned schedule of the night. She did her best to help us out and her laptop easily played my mp4 video formatted files on my flashdrive. Sound system played music well from her phone, which you can message to her your Spotify playlist of liking. Of course, the karaoke segment was the most entertaining part of the event with our different guests enjoying the mic and the karaoke being a great experience for everyone to enjoy. Parking lot is valet parking for $5. Big thank you to all of the staff at Max's for their help, especially to Ramir, Maria, Ikkin, (sorry didn't grab everyone's names)!
I was looking forward to having lunch at Max's but was disappointed by the level of service we received from the wait staff. He never looked at us in the eye or check if we were doing okay. He just served the food and left. My husband asked for soda refill and he just passed by and ignored him. The only good part of the experience was having the chicharon bulaklak. It was delicious and the host was welcoming.
I am disappointed with the ketsup. Its blunt and sour. Pls bring back the jufran. We only come here for the fried chicken and the ketsup says banana? It is not!
I loveeee Max's! It's one of my favorite Filipino restaurants to go to whenever I visit this area. The service is good and fast. There's always a good amount of people there having a good time. My favorites: the chicken, cooked to perfection, the sinigang baboy - perfect amount of sour, and the Sago 't Gulaman is sooo delicious.

Very bad customer service missed up my order and didn't tell me until I got home and I called them and they said oh sorry we ran out of the shrimp so they didn't call me text me or email me so I can change my order and they charged my credit card after I called them back they refunded me my credit what a joke who's running this place bad service and mangment never again read more

Holiday bundle includes Kare-Kare, Crispy Pata, pansit, fried chicken, and kaldereta. It cost $120 plus tax. The Kare Kare in the video was so thick it was disgusting. And it probably had 1" sq of red meat. read more

From the warm welcome, to the quick seating (we went at the right time ), to the most amazing home like cooking of our orders, Max's never failed! I have not been here for years and it was definitely good to be back! We had sizzling tofu, Max's chicken, Beef steak Tagalog, Daing na Bangus, lechon kawali, Nilagang Baka, and garlic rice. We had sago and gulaman and for dessert, maja Blanca... everything was so good, you can never go wrong with Max's! read more
Growing up as a Filipino kid in LA and when you had relatives in town, you likely remember your parents saying "We're going to Max's!". Despite the recent new-Filipino cuisine restaurants popping up, Max's still remains as that fun and familiar place to eat traditional Filipino dishes. Max's Restaurant is located in Glendale directly across Macy's at the galleria along West Broadway. Parking is valet only and they only take cash. Supposedly (and allegedly and totally not me) you can just park at the galleria and walk across the street. When I had dined-in recently, we made sure to go before the 12pm hour because of how busy it gets. Our server Raffy was professional and attentive all throughout our meal. He was polite and treated us as if we were regulars. The food was served in courses and eaten family style. Overall Max's is still that restaurant to go to if you're craving comfort dishes like Pork Sisig, Miki Bihon, or their famous fried chicken. You can tell they recently renovated the inside and it looks so modern. I enjoyed the birthday celebration at Max's! We got a long table near the kitchen. Ordered several dishes (I'll post the rest of the pics soon). The Crispy Pata and fried chicken was outstanding. Of course you have to end with dessert. For me it was Halo Halo which can be shared if you want:) Our server was friendly and hard working. He was also kind enough to take a few photos of our group and brought the Red Ribbon cake out during dessert. I was surprised that the there was a decent size dinner crowd for a Wednesday evening. Dishes are mainly ala cart. Max's has private parking with valet service mainly on the weekends I think. The decor is clean and modern. read more
I haven't been here for a while so I excited to go back as I've always liked it....sad to say, the food today was tasteless. And if you know Filipino food, flavors are usually very bold. Unfortunately with what we ordered, pancit palabok, fresh lumpia, lechon kawali and garlic fried rice - they were all so bland we had to add fish sauce or soy sauce to everything. I'm so glad that this place is still here. This is where I go to bring friends who've never had Filipino food. This is also where I come to get my favorite comfort foods. It's not cheap but it's worth it to have a little taste of home. We come of hours to make sure we can get seated and served. They do get pretty busy during peak times. The location is easy to get to and they have valet parking. The inside seating is simple, clean and homey. read more

#16 for 2023 One of my favorite places to dine but I was a little surprised with how much the pricing has gone up. I brought 3 of my friends here who never had Filipino food before. I told them I was bringing them to a place where they can feel transported to another country with food that was going to tease, play and satisfy their palate. They have a good size parking lot. For Glendale where parking is a premium these days that's good. Service is on point. We were greeted immediately. Even though not all our party was present they showed us our table so we could start with some refreshments. When I looked at the menu, the higher pricing was a little surprising. Looking around at the setting it was lovely. I did feel like I was in a modern Filipino restaurant. My friends were pleased with that agreeing they felt transported. We started with the lumpia ubod which is heart of palm. You wouldn't think this to be such a delightful treat with the peanut dipping sauce. There's only 2 on a plate. We ordered 2 of these for our party of 5. I didn't eat one so they could all try it. The garlic rice came. It smelled divine. The chop suey of stir fried vegetables, pork, squid and chicken was savory and tasty. The rice soaked up the sauce lingering the taste and flavors in my mouth. Next up the pancit balabok was hit. They had noodles before but nothing like this. I had them squeeze some lemon and soy sauce to give it that extra kick into the next level. The kare kare, peanut stew pork, didn't go over well with everyone. They could eat it but it's not something they would order. Noted. For me I loved it. So I get to eat more of this than anything else. lol The crispi pata was a big hit. The price now for that is $30 but it seem like the portion was double the size. Other times I've had it feeding 5 was difficult. This day there was quite enough to satisfy everyone. Pretty happy with that. It is good to know there's still a place I can bring friends to experience the culture and food of my home country. read more

Whenever I'm in the area, I think of heading to this spot. Max's is a Filipino restaurant that has always delivered in food tasting and quality, giving great reminiscence to the restaurant chain in the Philippines. This time around I came here with my girlfriend and there was a special for a new dessert they had!!! The ube leche flan shake was advertised and although the price is quite high for a drink ($9), it's no ordinary drink and is perfect to share between others!!! I loved the sweet pair together and enjoyed the texture differences between the leche flan and the smooth ube cream. Highly recommend!!! Other orders we got were the famous whole Max's fried chicken and the plate of lechon kawali (fried pork belly). The frying for both entrees were perfect, leaving a juicy and meaty bite with each spoonful of rice. This spot can get busy with many families enjoying dinner, so sometimes you need to find parking aside from the small lot around the area. read more

When craving for Filipino food with dining space & parking, Max's comes to mind. The food & service was great! We ordered Max's Whole Chicken (must have), Lechon Kawali (not as crispy), Chicken Adobo (kids love it), Pork Sinigang (everyone's favorite), Pancit Canton (my favorite), Sizzling Tofu, Fresh Lumpia Ubod (I had better ones). For dessert, it's too cold for Halo halo, so we ordered Buko Pandan & Leche Flan. I also had Sago't Gulaman (the sago not cooked enough). Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience. read more
Looking for a legit and original Filipino fixin'? Max's has you covered! Being a Filipino food connoisseur, my expectations are quite high and Max's checks all the boxes. They have a huge variety of dishes, including their world famous fried chicken which is juicy and crispy. I highly recommend this for first timers (get a half chicken for 1-2 people or whole chicken for 3+). My personal favorite is the Bicol express served with crispy lechon and creamy sauce on top. I've never had Bicol like this and have yet to find it anywhere else in SoCal. The staff is super nice and accommodating, we felt well taken care of the whole time. It was a casual atmosphere and not overly noisy. Definitely recommend this business! read more
Max's Chicken is a staple when it comes to Filipino Cuisine. From Philippines to Vegas to this location in Glendale, you can't really mess up the signature Filipino dishes. I can safely say the food and the service is consistent and this location is always busy. The only negative would be the lack of parking but you can't always park at the mall and head over. If you are out of luck and can't park in their lot, be sure to have someone in your party get out to get your party on the list to be seated. Recommend fried chicken, garlic rice, and pork sinigang. They have indoor and outdoor seating but it's best to sit inside if at all possible. read more

It was our first time at maxs, been passing it for years but we finally decided to try it. Food was really good, we got the lumpia as a starter, really crispy really good had what I believe is pickled carrots on the side and it went well, wasn't big on the sweet and sour sauce but probably cause I'm used to la choy sweet chili Then we got garlic rice, pancit, lechon and fried chicken, it was all really good nice crisp, the vinegar paired with the lechon was so good. Dessert was my favorite part, halo halo and the buko pandan The restaurant itself had no music so it would either get very quiet and awkward Or all you hear is screaming families and kids haha Over all good experience read more

I've been coming here with my family since I was a little girl. I remember loving this place so much because their chicken is so crispy and eating it with garlic rice and banana ketchup was even better. Back in the days, the wait would be up to an hour or more! The wait time has definitely lessened and unfortunately, the service, and quality of their food. The interior is very nice now that is newly remodeled. There is more open seating and the lights give it a much brighter ambiance. My family came here for my Dad's birthday and we ordered: fried chicken, shanghai lumpia, kare kare, pancit bihon, and garlic fried rice. My favorite Filipino dish is kare kare and it is delicious here to pair with the rice. Our chicken was very salty... we were not too happy about it so we told our server, and he was more than happy to replace it. It was still salty the second time around, but we kept it to eat. I think I've had other authentic Filipino food at other restaurants, but I know when people here Max's restaurant they go crazy over it. I would still recommend people to try it out for themselves. Parking here also used to be free and park yourself, but now it is valet parking. read more

1 1/2 minute read: MAX'S is well established as a Filipino Restaurant in Glendale and in Las Vegas. We've been to the Glendale one several times, and tried their Krispy Pata, TOKWAT BABOY, Pancit, and other delectables. Prices are fair. Many customers have posted their photos, so you can get an idea of what to expect. The Restaurant Staff is very efficient, friendly and and eager to please. It's not a huge place but it is comfortable. Parking is no issue. They have 2 or three handicap spots, you can park your own car or let the Valet- when on duty. I'm going back and when I do, I want BANGUS- preferably FRIED, but it's prepared in several ways. I'll find out. OK, I gotta check if we've been to the MAX'S in Las Vegas. I'll let you know. Go enjoy Filipino cuisine. I'll eat any dish they prepare except Two: 1. BALUT 2. Anything containing BLOOD. All in all... happy eating read more

Max's was incredibly packed on a Saturday at 12pm! Our party of two waited 30 minutes. Service was not the best, but it was standard for an Asian restaurant. Although the food was kind of expensive, the portions were on the larger side. FOOD ORDERED - Chicharon Bulaklak ($11.99). I wasn't sure if I would like ruffle fat (membrane around intestine), but it didn't have an offensive flavor. It mostly offered texture. Deep fried without batter, the ruffles were shatteringly crisp. The circular black rim on each piece was chewy. I liked dipping each piece in vinegar and adding a drop of Tabasco. - Max's Half Fried Chicken ($14.99). The chicken skin was super crispy and the meat fell off the bone. However, the meat was dried out -- even the dark meat. The quality of the chicken also wasn't the best, as the texture of the meat was soft and lifeless. Adding palm vinegar from the chicharon bulaklak improved the taste. - Classic Pork Sisig ($14.99). The chopped head meat with onion was rich and tasty. Although the dish was already vinegary, a squeeze of lemon helped cut the fat. - Garlic Rice ($5.99). Max's garlic rice was light on the garlic and oil, so it didn't make me gassy. That's a plus. Unfortunately, the rice was too soft and clumpy for me. DESSERT ORDERED - Mango and Coconut Jelly in Cream ($7.50). Tasted AMAZING!!! The creamy coconut milk solidified into fine little beads from the cold vanilla ice cream, which enhanced the texture. The mango pieces were just okay though. Fresh mango would have been better. I also couldn't tell where the coconut jelly was. I located pieces of sugar palm fruit, but they didn't have much flavor or texture. read more
This is a one branch of the iconic Filipino owned business , its logo being "The house that fried chicken built! " Met up with a group of longtime schoolmates for dinner. There were only five of us but we seemed to have ordered enough food for three times as many! Personable and very courteous staff welcomed us and were attentive throughout the dinner. Many traditional entrees and the fried chicken of course. This is not the usual heavily breaded American fried chicken or the heavily sauced Korean style of chicken. It's marinated then simply deep fried till golden, keeping the chicken quite tender and crispy on the outside. My friends showed me to eat this with a mixture of banana ketchup and Worcestershire sauce - I ate mine plain, lol. These other dishes were also delicious: Nilagang Baka or beef soup had tender pieces and cabbage plus potatoes. Also got both pancit bihon (thin rice noodle) and pancit miki bihon ( mixed egg and rice noodles) with chopped vegetables, chicken pieces and shrimp. Laing or sauteed taro leaves in coconut milk -very mildly spicy. Kare kare (tender beef plus vegetables in annatto peanut stew). The traditional dish uses oxtail but I think this version had beef cubes not oxtail. Lumping ubod (sautéed bamboo shoot in a crepe) was a miss for me, the wrapper was simply too thick to be enjoyed. Garlic fried rice also delicious and generous servings. All dishes are meant for family style sharing. Dessert was quite satisfying: halo halo came served in a bowl large enough for sharing. I got the mango sago topped with ice cream - it was in a tiny parfait glass, we thought we could also share but this was definitely a one person serving. Busy weekday night, they did not rush us out of there even when they had already ended service and were closing. Casual dining spot, I did not notice any music nor TVs blaring, which is great to have dinner conversation without yelling. read more
Delicious Filipino food. Pricier side for Filipino food but it's worth it. Restaurant is clean and service is great. They seems to frequently host parties here as they have two sections of the restaurant they can block off for parties which is great. Took our mom here for her birthday and she loved everything! It's always a blessing to celebrate another birthday with our parents. Valet parking on weekends and holidays. The driveway is steep for standard height cars and we saw almost every single car scrape the bottom when pulling in. You can avoid this by parking at the mall across the street and maybe go shopping after lol Our server was great and on top of everything. They have one of the best Halo Halos and even if I'm freezing cold I still order it. Lechon is good, pancit great, sisig delicious, fried chicken a must! Idk , I think it's just good Filipino food without all that grease. read more
I have been here way back 6 years ago with my daughter and the second time with my friends last Saturday - 2/11/2023. The company was wonderful but the food wasn't great. I had tasted better. The portions are small and The price is steep. We ordered four entrees: Famous Max's Fried Chicken ($19.99 for whole chicken) - it is not how I remembered the taste and quality in the Philippines Kare - Kare (Beef Peanut Stew) $21.99 - I agree with a fellow Yelper that the taste isn't enough. My friend's is way much better. The portion for the price is not worth it either. Too small. It is good for 1 - 2 people. Not much meat too. Pancit Bihon (Egg Noodles) $15.99 - it was okay, nothings great about it. Lumpiang Shanghai (Egg Rolls) $12.99 - it tastes like store bought, it's okay when it is hot but once it's warm - it's kind of tough to bite. Service isn't that great either. The server doesn't come check on you often if you need anything or ask how the food is. The place is nice after it has been remodeled. Valet parking for $5 is ridiculous though. read more

Absolutely horrendous. I've said in numerous past reviews that Filipino restaurants in the United States aren't very good and this place encapsulates that feeling. This was just bad and I'm certain that anyone that legitimately enjoyed eating here was either starving to the point that anything would've tasted good or drunk. Chicken, the one thing that Max's makes its name off of, was dry. Utterly dry. Kare kare had a couple scraps of meat and mostly bone and some veggies. Even more egregious, the sauce was watery and didn't even taste like peanuts. Y'know, the main flavoring in kare kare's sauce. Your sinigang na baboy? Where was the baboy? You've got some nerve charging the prices you do for the quality and quantity that you give. Your tables are also too small. Don't cramp a big party in one table and pile all the food on that tiny platform. What's wrong with you? Absolutely shameful. Admittedly, every Max's I've eaten at has been pretty bad across the board but this was easily the worst out of them all. In a way, that's actually kind of impressive. Not like in a badge of honor kind of way though. I'm legitimately embarrassed that you would associate your restaurant with my culture. read more

I know for sure that u need to make a reservation to use d videoke room because we’ve used it several times in the past. I just dont know how much is d deposit, sorry! I think it depends on d foods ur gonna order for ur party.
Is there still renovation going on inside the restaurant?
Renovations are done. Restrooms are now located by dining area instead of by the reception/waiting area in front.
Do they take reservation?
We called on a weekday for lunch and they said they do not take reservations.
