Beware Folks! After lunch on 3/27/26, I received three receipts. I was unaware that a suggested 15% gratuity of $45.45 plus tax was already included in the total of $385.04, and the menu list was also included. Another receipt, the customer's copy, was misleading with a blank space for the tip; I added $54.54 from the $385.04, resulting in a total of $439.58. This was an honest mistake on my part for not checking the first receipt. The merchant copy with my signature showed charges of $439.58 on my credit card statement. I called, and one staff member said the manager was not in, and the assistant was on vacation. When I called again, I was told neither the manager nor the assistant was available. She promised to credit my card, but as of 4/18/26, no transaction has been posted. It's difficult to find a restaurant without a phone number unless you search their website. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We recently had the pleasure of having a private room reserved for my family to celebrate an event.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I believe they gave us 15 minutes prior to the event start to really add any final touches but the set-up on the tables were already perfect and nicely laid out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were also all very quick with drinks while some people haven't arrived inside yet and they served many of the foods efficiently and quickly while tending to any requests. The menu picked and served to us were some classic Filipino favorites: pancit bihon, white rice, crispy pata, pork sinigang, kare-kare beef peanut stew, and lumpia shanghai. There were multiple plates of the food, leaving us all very satisfied and filled. They gave us an appropriate amount of time before coming in with desserts. We were served a nice small bowl of ice cream and gelatin. Meanwhile, Maria who was in charge of the event as the coordinator, was a great host and stuck to our cues for carrying out the planned schedule of the night. She did her best to help us out and her laptop easily played my mp4 video formatted files on my flashdrive. Max's filipino fried chicken is a classic when going to this restaurant-- can never really go wrong with a simple fried chicken. Also got the kare-kare and lumpiang shanghai. The kare-kare's stew was too thick and there was not much beef. Just like the fried chicken, there's not much to go wrong with the lumpiang shanghai, so that was good. I did like the atchara on the side of the egg rolls. Service was decent. We ate pretty quickly, so not much interaction aside from ordering and asking for the check. We had a magnificent and memorable time celebrating my godmother's surprise 70th birthday party inside the private room at Max's Restaurant in Glendale. The staff and Tita Maria (owner/manager) provided excellent customer care and service from the time of booking and choosing the food items and menu for the dinner buffet and reserving the dinner buffet party up until the very end of the surprise birthday party. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The private room was nicely decorated and set up for our birthday celebrant and guests.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Max's staff even had a monitor set up to show videos and slides during the party. We even had music playing and the emcee hosting the celebration.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tita Maria we call her is the one that was the emcee during the celebration. She was also the event planner and menu planner at Max's. For the buffet, the food items served were, Crispy Pata, Kare-Kare, Sinigang, Max's Chicken, Lumpia, Pancit, white rice, Gulaman and Sago, Calamansi juice, Buko Pandan to name a few. They even provided to go boxes for all the left overs so the guests can take home the food. This is the 3rd time our family and relatives reserved a celebration at Max's Restaurant in Glendale and they always delivered with excellent customer service and delicious food. I went here on Tuesday Jan 29 with my parents and uncle. We ordered kare kare and bangus sisig. Kare kare was amazing, the sauce was well-made and creamy. I've never tried bangus sisig before and I enjoyed it. Not that fatty compared to pork and beef sisig. We ordered more but they're not pictured. Service was great. Feeling like im trying Max's again for the first time (haven't been since I was too little of a girl to remember), and obviously had to try the classics. The lechon kawali sisig (especially paired with the garlic rice) was SOOOO good. I want to say it's my favorite thing I ate but so was practically everything else. Lumpia was also delicious (I could eat multiple servings if I wanted too lol)! Also got a chance to try the calamansi juice. I will say it was very good but it is on the sweeter side so just be mindful. We ordered Crispy Pata "to go" but were very disappointed when we got home. As everyone can see from the photos I posted, we got a burned food. What happened with their quality control nowadays? Obviously it's charred and most likely cooked with old used oil. Called them at once to inform them but their Supervisor Ramir Cruz asked us if we can go back and they would replace it. But it took us 30 minutes of driving and with the gas prices right now! Sorry folks, I know they are known for their fried chicken but the star of the night is the ever humble Pancit canton.
