A great spot to visit for holiday decor and drinks! The little Debbie Christmas trees cake martini was excellent! My friends and I shared the breadsticks and hummus platter and both were great choices for a progressive afternoon around broad ripple.

    Tenderloin Sandwich* with Onion Rings

I must catch myself from making a fatal error: comparing. Not to other restaurants, onion rings, ales, or tenderloins. Today I found myself comparing the game slate to past moments in this wonderful establishment. How unfair! I've stood far too close to a stranger and even my friends in this oasis of football. Smelling notes of beer on bated breath and the tantalizing delicacies of passing plates. How can one compare the 2022 World Cup Final to anything? My mistake! Union Jack is quiet when it's quiet and loud when it's loud. She's a pearl like that. Come for a USMNT game or UCL Final with every assumption you'll stand for two hours. Bring a few friends as barricade to the casuals who feel far too comfortable spewing commentator talk and wearing scarves indoors. All love, but once a woman told me that Josh Sargent was the ideal #9. For non-ball-knowers this is the equivalent of saying your local cover band are world class performers. Any other time, grab a seat and enjoy slightly overpriced food and drink that still makes you smile. I wolfed down a monumental portion of tenderloin and onion rings while watching my Drawbreaker bet once again draw. An abundant helping of mayonnaise and plenty-o-pickles were available for my tanned sandwich. Erotic. A wild thought - pitchers of something beyond Bud Light? Could be the move! Ultimately, two thumbs up for watching soccer here and that Cajun Pasta which offers consistent toast mopping opportunities. Spicy and creamy sauce gets all three points in my book. Union Jack you're a good biscuit. (cookie in American).

Heart shaped Personal Pan Pizza for the month of February
    Ellen F.

I was here with part of a group event of 75 people and service was still top notch! Food came out quickly and staff were very friendly. I ordered... Heart shaped personal pan pizza ($12.50): for the month of February, the heart shaped personal pan pizza donates $1 to the Love, Broad Ripple nonprofit organization that supports small businesses in Broad Ripple. The pizza itself is fantastic! I would sure like to come back without a group event to see how the place is normally, but I would imagine the space is very relaxed with still very high quality service. Parking is available on the streets, or the nearest parking garage is the Broad Ripple garage by The Vogue. There is no private lot with the Union Jack, or at least not one that is very well marked.

Union Jack's Broad Ripple spot has a lively, classic pub feel that's been a neighborhood fixture for years. The ambience combines laid-back comfort with the energetic buzz of a local favorite. With eclectic decor, cozy seating, and a friendly bar area, it's perfect for a casual night out or catching up with friends over drinks. The service is upbeat and dependable, with staff managing crowds well, even on busy nights. They are approachable, efficient, and genuinely care about making sure everyone has a good experience. Whether you are a regular or visiting for the first time, they make you feel welcome. The menu offers hearty pub favorites with some creative twists. Their deep-dish, Chicago-style pizzas are a signature, thick, cheesy, and flavorful. The menu also includes wings, sandwiches, and appetizers, providing plenty of options for sharing or individual orders. Union Jack remains one of the neighborhood's most trusted spots for a fun, straightforward dining experience. With good food, a relaxed vibe, and friendly staff, it's no surprise it's a favorite among locals.

    Breaded Battalion Tenderloin Sandwich
    Hannah F.

Union Jack Pub has always been a Broad Ripple staple for me! Their deep dish pizza is so good! This time around I had a breaded tenderloin and a salad. The tenderloin had amazing breading. My son had the kids pizza and fries which were also delicious. Our server was kind and friendly. My only complaint (and this was my fault) was that the paper menu didn't have prices. My bill seemed way to high. When I got home I got online and saw the online menu did have prices. After totaling everything up, I believe I was maybe double charged for an extra kids meal or they had already included a tip. I couldn't tell because they use a machine instead of a paper receipt. Mistakes happen and it was my fault for not asking for a paper receipt or looking online while I was at the restaurant. Just something to be aware of. I'll still return. The pizza and tenderloin are too good to miss out on!!!

Service was great! Had the Impossible Philly sandwich, which was "impossible" to believe it was vegan. Nice portion and satisfying.

    Frozen Mozzarella Sticks

Union Jack Pub is mid. Not in a bad way though. It's just ok. That goes for the service and ambiance too. Ordered pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks and fries. Not worth a special trip, but a decent option.

Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

We complimented it, asked where they found it, and before we knew it, we were chatting with a wonderful couple who had traveled all the way from overseas just to watch Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever play that night. Moments like that are one of the reasons I love Indianapolis on game days. The patio was the perfect place to soak it all in. Fever fans filled the sidewalks, kids proudly carried homemade signs, and there was an excitement in the air that only comes from a city rallying behind its team. We could have people-watched for hours. Our waitress was exactly what every server should strive to be. Friendly, relaxed, and genuinely fun to talk to, she somehow mastered the art of appearing right before we found ourselves looking around for her. We never felt rushed, but we also never waited for anything. The food held up its end of the bargain too. The fried mozzarella disappeared embarrassingly fast and earned a solid 9.3 on my unofficial stretch meter. Crispy on the outside, perfectly gooey inside, with a marinara sauce that was every bit as good as the cheese itself. The chef salad was fresh, generously loaded with toppings, and easily big enough for a meal. I honestly couldn't tell you what beer I ordered... Because what I remember most is the experience. Sharing appetizers on a sunny patio, meeting fellow basketball fans from halfway around the world, and watching Indianapolis come alive before tipoff. It reminded me that sports have a funny way of turning complete strangers into friends. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're headed to Gainbridge.

Our server was friendly and responsive to one member of our group (male) but repeatedly didn't acknowledge another (female). This wasn't a one-time thing, it happened several times over the course of our visit, and it came across as dismissive. As for the drinks: beer prices were nice and cheap, but the margarita was on the expensive side and not really worth it. The place seems geared toward bigger dinner crowds, which may be why a two-person drinks-only table didn't get much attention, but being essentially ignored isn't a great look either way. We wouldn't return. 2/5.

From the moment you walk in, you start looking around instead of at the menu. One wall is covered in hundreds of stickers that somehow work together perfectly, there's a colorful mural that's impossible not to notice, and the whole place has that "this has been someone's favorite spot for years" kind of energy. Then the pizza showed up... We ordered the Spicy Mexican, and I don't know who first decided sour cream belonged on pizza, but they deserve a raise. Chorizo, fresh jalapeños, red onion, cilantro, mozzarella, and that cool drizzle of sour cream somehow all work together without one ingredient stealing the show. Every bite had a little heat, a little freshness, and a whole lot of flavor. Flavor Bomb Meter: The crust had just enough chew with a perfectly crisp bottom, and the toppings weren't shy. No sad, sparsely dressed pizza here. Topping-to-Crust Ratio: 10/10. I also appreciate restaurants that have personality without trying too hard. Pearl Street feels authentic. Nobody's trying to create an Instagram backdrop--it just naturally has one around every corner. Plus, they had a few vegan choices for me (highly caloric, not super healthy, but still, they had more than one choice, and vegan offerings that weren't salads). They even had three tasty mocktails and some alcohol-free beers (since I don't do booze anymore either)! The veggie burger came with a squishy bean patty, with peas in it -- not my fave texture or flavor but tolerable -- and a tahini sauce... but they barely put any sauce on it. A gourmet, no-high-fructose-corn-syrup ketchup or tomato jam might have been better, or at least more of the tahini. It did come with a nice pile o' crunchy pickles (love) and a lovely green salad with balsamic dressing (way too many carrots). Service was fast and friendly. Ambience is upscale bar, with fun and interesting murals on the walls -- they had a terrific music playlist going, and the Hubbins and I ended up kind of dancing in place without realizing it. Public parking lot directly across the street meant we didn't get soaked by the rainstorm, and didn't have to drive around forever dealing with construction, looking for a parking spot. A nice, easy option for dinner with the fam without having to work/think too hard about it -- something to suit all of our varied diets.
