At 11:02 AM, I called the Mayflower Restaurant's front desk, and a female employee answered, stating that the dim sum would be ready for pickup at the restaurant in 15 minutes. I immediately drove over and arrived at the restaurant at 11:20 AM. However, the middle-aged woman working at the front desk told me the order was "not ready yet" and instructed me to wait. I waited until 11:40 AM, yet I still had not received the dim sum. Frustrated, I went back to inquire: "Why isn't the dim sum ready yet? You told me it would be ready in 15 minutes!" At this point, she glared at me ferociously and snapped: "You ordered 10 portions of dim sum, and they all have to be packaged separately; that takes time to pack!" I replied: "When I placed the order, I made it very clear that you were to package them separately according to my instructions. *You* were the one who promised me the order would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes. Now I've already waited forty minutes, and the doctors are waiting for me to deliver their lunch..." Instead of patiently explaining the situation to me, this woman stormed out from behind her counter and threatened to "beat me up." Several restaurant staff members rushed over to restrain her on the spot, preventing her from physically assaulting a customer. Meanwhile, a restaurant manager escorted me out to the parking lot, urged me to calm down, and confided in me: "This employee has already gotten into arguments with two other customers in the past--you are the third one. She didn't used to be like this; she's changed. Perhaps it's related to menopause?" I believe that if the owner of Mayflower continues to employ a staff member who is so utterly unreasonable, rude, savage, and even attempts to physically attack customers, their business is bound to suffer severely--no matter how excellent their dishes and dim sum may be!! read more

Mayflower is one of the many popular spots for dim sum and traditional Chinese dinners. There is quite a competition out there but in all honesty, it's the taste that is important. Mayflower has been up and down in my books, but what restaurant doesn't have it's ups and downs? I've eaten here plenty, and trust me, i've been here PLENTY of times..too many to count. It was fair to good. Traditionally, this type of menu cannot be a celebration but a Buddhist simple meal. The nonchalant reaction from the staff was shocking and unacceptable. They shrugged it off as if it were a common occurrence, displaying a lack of concern for food safety and customer satisfaction. This experience was starkly different from what I've encountered at the Mayflower chain in Dublin, where the service and food quality were exceptional. Great food, good service. My wife and I went here for dim sum, but they only serve at lunch. After thinking about it we decided to stay for dinner. I am glad we did. We had been to the Mayflower in The Great Mall, and we walked out after being ignored for 20 minutes, so we were a little hesitant to try this one. Apparently they are not the same owners. The service Was fairly quick, although they forgot the rice and the check took forever. I don't go to Chinese restaurants for the service I go for the food. This place is about the food, good portions well made. We had the clay pot ribs, good choice, the chow fun (I can't remember what style) it was a little spicy, with curry, we will get that again. The best part was the wedding in the back, they had karaoke, let me say that none of those people will be the next American Idol. read more

We ordered "Chicken in Lemon Sauce" and the chicken had a freezer burn and it had an nasty texture like a sponge but dried meat. It even looked like sponge. So we told the waiter who is wearing jacket with tie, but he told us it supposed to be DRY and he gave us a big attitude. I have never liked their services, but the taste was always good... But today was the last time to go this restaurant. With that price range, the quality was definitely not acceptable, especially with that low quality service. We should have went to Panda Express... Mayflower is your standard dim sum spot; nothing mind-blowing, but it gets the job done. The food is decent, the service is okay, and it's a solid option if you're dining with a big group, especially for dinner. While it's average, I'm bumping it up an extra star because of their outdoor covered patio. I really appreciate that feature! It's mostly shaded, keeps the dust out, and surprisingly -- the service doesn't take a hit when you're seated outside. Major bonus, I can bring my dog! Our experience at this particular restaurant was far from satisfactory due to an exorbitant automatic gratuity for two people. Despite only ordering around eight plates of dim sum between the two of us, they included a whopping 18% service surcharge - typically designated for parties with 6 people or more - without so much as courtesy consultation beforehand! You're basically ordering your own grub, they bring it, and after you're done, it's on you to pack up the leftovers. If you dare to question that service charge, they make a scene. Yummy, delicious, yummy, delicious, yummy, delicious... Sorry, I seem to keep repeating myself. OK, so for a quick local Dim Sum place, pretty good. My girl Jen is the WOMAN!!!! of this place. As far as I am concerned, she runs de show! The food is good. Service is OK for the most part, and the prices are average. Parking sucks on Sundays and if you are here before 1PM you will wait. I had my wedding here two months ago. I was really please with the food and especially the wedding banquet coordinator. He was really good at what he does. The food was decent and people are nice. I do wish all the waiters/waitresses can be nicer but what can you expect from a chinese restaurant. However, if you want to book this place for a wedding banquet, ask for Jack. It was a long shopping day after Christmas. Whole family just wanted to find a place for lunch so we can continue shopping. We stopped by the Mayflower Dim Sum. I have to say it's better than most of Dim Sum places I have visited. We ordered 8 items. Every single one is fresh and well made. Especially the Mango shrimp rolls and Beijing duck are just among the best of the best. We surely will come back. read more

It is has a while I haven't go there. I usually go to market and buy lunch at the store next to it. The food are tasty, they have all kind of food salt and pepper shrimp, sweet and sour pork, sesame chicken, stir fried vegetable, sesame ball. Later, they sell dim sum and rice soup. Had the pleasure to eat here again after the renovation. Food is very delicious just like how I remember it when my husband and I had our wedding reception here 6 years ago. Will always come back for dim sum/Chinese food here. It's the best! And service were very good and they were all very attentive.
