I originally booked a half foot and half body massage, but I modified it and requested shoulder,…read moreneck, head, and foot instead of the usual back and foot combination, and they were very accommodating. It ended up being one of the most relaxing experiences. I had a bad headache that day, and Sasa focused on my head massage, which helped a lot. I felt so much better afterward. I will definitely come back and recommend this place. They don't speak much English, but they are very open and accommodating to your needs. Their prices are on the more affordable side, so I highly recommend tipping generously if you're happy with the service. They do ask you to pay first, but I let them know I would add the tip after the service, and they were completely okay with that. I didn't feel pressured to tip in advance at all. The place is clean and neat. see the pictures for reference.

The front desk staff ended up doing my massage, which was already unexpected. I had booked a…read moreone-hour foot massage, but instead she kept rubbing the same spot on my head over and over--it wasn't relaxing, it was actually irritating. When I looked up, I saw she was on her phone, texting, and only using one hand to absentmindedly rub my head without paying attention to what she was doing. I immediately called her out, and she didn't deny it--she just told me to wait for another massage therapist. This experience made it clear that this business does not prioritize or respect its customers.

Found this place while scrolling through Instagram noticed it was in a clean safe area so I had to…read morecome try. Very welcoming, spacious and friendly I've been twice now first time was the body massage I don't think they paid attention to the body areas that I filled out on the clipboard so the second time I got the foot massage and it's basically the same thing as paying for the body massage.. Only downfall is when it comes to giving tip. They never seem satisfied, even though I did tip a good amount.

I've had this bookmarked to check out for years. I have had the worst calf and foot cramping for a…read moreweek or so, so today was the day. I called, they were friendly and could see me right away. Didn't ask my name because they had caller id. I arrived on time, the only one there, and waited 15 minutes. No big deal. It may have just opened for day. Explained to the front desk the areas I'd like to focus on. They said no problem. 6-10 chair beds in one dimly lit room, good ambiance. Another person came in right after me and they sat us directly next to each other until the other person requested space. Massage was good, had to request more pressure. I specifically pointed to the places I wanted focus (forearm, thumb/hand, calf, Achilles, and foot & ball of foot -- all on the left side.) (also lower neck and behind my left ear to loosen the muscle near my eustachian tube) not only do I feel the right side was given the most attention, my left calf and Achilles weren't touched at all. Lots of attention paid to the feet and between the toes, shoulders and neck were nice too, but not evenly distributed. There were also supposed to be hot stones, but I don't think that was even done when i was laying flat. All and all, maybe a good massage if you're just looking for a general feel good rub, but don't go expecting transformation or anything mind blowing.

i had such a great experience at kume spa. i originally booked the service through groupon and…read moreended up liking it so much that when i got out of there i immediately bought two more vouchers. i got a korean body scrub from tiffany and a deep massage from susan and both were amazinggg. my skin felt so soft afterward and the massage was exactly what i needed. for anyone who hasn't done a korean scrub before you will be booty butt azz nekkid for the scrub. i'm on the plus-size side and was a little nervous about the sauna or the bed but they made me feel comfortable the whole time. i also still had a bit of self tan on and felt kinda bad about staining anything, but they didn't make it awkward at all. i'm sure they deal with that way more often than we think. also shoutout to the woman at the front desk! she was so sweet and welcoming and made the whole experience even better. she explained their membership deal which sounds like a steal but i opted out for now. overall such a great experience and i'll definitely be coming back.

Well honestly maybe I should've managed my expectations a bit more but I just sort of assumed this…read moreplace would give out reallllly good massages and perhaps I just didnt order the right "service" but I asked for a 90 min full body massage but it felt more like an exaggerated rub down...on top of that It was freezing in the room the whole time to where I had goosebumps on every part of my body thst was exposed and rather than my masseuse turning on the heat or the warm bed she just kept massaging until I asked if there was a way to warm the room some, then she finally turned the heated bed on which helped, if only a little. I asked to prioritize my neck & shoulder area and I dont feel as though that was done... I opted out of the CBD run or any add ons but really wish id chosen the aromatherapy to help the experience out a bit. I also wished id chosen a male so that id feel the massage a bit stronger but my friend who came along said she had a male & he was terrible so theres that.. There were people in the hallways talking & socializing really loudly outside of the room which was distracting & annoying and lastly, I honestly do not feel like I was given the full 90 mins... all this to say I would not recommend or probably return unless it was free & with a guaranteed highly skilled masseuse. Im giving a 3 because my masseuse was friendly but its more like a 2.5

Ok, here's a raw review for a DEEP TISSUE massage by a MALE massage therapist…read more I just left the this place. It's right on the outskirts of Oakland's Chinatown on a little gritty little street, but I didn't feel unsafe. The place its self is also gritty and not pretty. You need to pay up front and the rooms are bare boned with a curtain over each door for privacy. If you need spa music and mood lighting, you won't find it here, but if you're looking for a deep tissue massage that will leave you limp like a rag doll, this is the place! I specifically asked for a male massage therapist (masseur) and Ken was my massage therapist. I have extremely tight QL muscles that most massage therapists cannot or will not dig deep enough to find. It takes work digging into it. I showed Ken the sore spots and he IMMEDIATELY found it and worked on it for a good 30 minutes. It hurt, I'm not kidding, but it's the GOOD HURT you need to break up deep muscle adhesions. He used deep pressure throughout my body and found virtually every knot and adhesion. He did ask several times if the pressure was OK. He even found some on my scalp that I didn't know I had! The massage was incredible all around and I will absolutely be back for more massages!

This place is still open!…read more It may not look like it because the restaurant downstairs is boarded up, so it's a bit hard to find since it's on the 2nd floor & I think google maps shows it across the street, and the buzzer didn't seem to work, I had to call up to get in. I called for a same day late night massage on a Sunday, and they accommodated, even when I was running late. Yelp says they take credit cards, but when I got there he said cash only, so I had to go to the Chase a few blocks away. The foot & leg massage was good - the back massage half was pretty rough, but it did do the trick! I'm giving 4 stars because it did what I needed, and the price is affordable - now $40 for the 30 minutes foot & 30 minutes body. Though I'll keep trying other places in Chinatown looking for a massage that's a little smoother and also affordable. They could definitely make the space cozier, it was nice they played music & gave me a bottle of water.
