We just came back from a 4 day/3 night stay at this campground which was lovely…read more It's located on route 9 and the South Jersey beaches are a quick drive away. Nearby is a gas station, a grocery store, and a few eateries so the location was very convenient and easy to find. Prices were reasonable and the staff went above and beyond at check in to explain their policies and were readily available to assist with your needs. There is a $20 cash refundable gate pass charge at check in. We were escorted to our site (upon request). They will also lend you their beach passes for a $20 deposit + $3 per day (used or not, in your possession) which is a savings of $2 over getting them at the beach. They have a store, a few wifi spots, and a nicely equipped gym. A koi pond outside the office/store is a nice place to sit and relax. Our site was large and clean and contained a fire pit and picnic table. The soil was sand based and flat which made leveling our trailer easy. We were surprised that our site was full hookup as we were told at time of reservation and at check in moments earlier that sewer was not available. There was also a clean bath house nearby, which could use some signage. The campground had a playground and doggie area - neither of which we used, a large pool with deck, and a snack bar open selectively ajacent to the pool. The pool area had umbrellas, chairs, and loungers as well as a smaller off to side gated area for smaller swimmers. The area surrounding the pool had a small flower garden and was quite pretty. However, the pool was NOT relaxing at all, as the music blared loudly, so much so that I couldn't talk to the person beside me. And the playlist was just awful! I did ask the lifeguard to turn it down (which they did) but it was still loud and annoyed me so much that I left. The pool was open till 4 weekdays, and 7 weekends. The campground was quiet and the staff and campers alike super nice, some of the nicest we've encountered actually. Outside of the beach there wasn't much to do as the season in NJ doesn't really start till July so I regretted not booking later so we could have taken in some activities, so that was a bit of a bummer. I'd stay here again in season. If you want to stay a few times off season ask about their gas saver program. It's worth it!

Bathrooms were kept decently clean. I didn't appreciate that they have coin showers. If I'm paying nearly $50 a night to camp I think a free shower is reasonable. They have some bullshit sign on the wall that they charge for showers to reduce water use. Yeah, sure. Very believable.

Well, maybe, but you only get what you pay for. 2. The staff here has been nothing but phenomenal, they have been working like crazy and I feel they are completely under-appreciated. This place has so many good reviews that are based simply on the job they do. 3. There are isolated issues, sometimes, but thats life. Things aren't always going to be perfect. Look at the big picture. But they sure as hell try to fix any issue. 4. Thank you OVR for the best thing weve ever done as a family. This will be our 2nd home for life. And thank you for helping make the memories that we cherish.

Good mix of seasonal and transients. Only thing they need to do is stick to their activity schedule. We were there following the app as directed and timing was way off in most cases. We loved the location, right in the middle of everything. The pool was refreshing, busier on Sunday but empty by Wednesday, make sure to bring pool floats & a chair if you are plan to stay a while (no chairs due to Covid). The Community Center with picnic & large fire pit areas looked wonderful but closed due to Covid. I was amused to see the old school playground, haven't seen or been on a seesaw in years! The Wading Pine River was nice & cool, my pup had a blast splashing around on the mini beach landing by the Treasure Island Bridge. We forgot our tubes & the store was sold out so make sure you bring them. We wondered briefly on Treasure Island, make sure to spray yourself with Repel 40 Deet beforehand. My husband had fun fishing at the catch & release pond. The gazebo on the bridge was a nice & shaded place to enjoy the fishing pond & to people watch fellow campers. It was too hot to take advantage of the basketball court, volleyball court or horseshoe pits, maybe on our next visit. We didn't use the bathrooms (we have a TT) but they looked clean & stocked. Everyone in the office/store was friendly & welcoming. The store was well stocked even at the end of a very busy Christmas in July weekend. I would highly recommend Wading Pines for all campers. Seasonals have to fix things broken in the camp because management is often not there. one of the sites floods so badly that the people are in past ankles if it rains a lot. There is all kinds of trash behind the dog park along the back fence. The bugs and rodents are horrible. Loud obnoxious behavior in the back of the campground. lack of activities. Rude staff, well , when they are there. The guests are expected to babysit the campground so management can do whatever until they get a call that something is wrong. Store is quite often locked and people have to push a button and wait for someone to come, provided someone is there. So sad it could be a nice place.
