Cheese pizza?

Watched the lady take old slices that were sitting on a bucket under a table to make these monstratacies for $13.

Vegetarian pizza. Really yummy !

Sammy! What a great personality. He was so friendly and guaranteed a really good vegetarian pizza. He was right. I would have preferred a thicker crust though. I will definitely go back to try their vegan dishes. I was so glad that they had parking. Parking in this area is so known for bad parking. I mentioned a recipe to Sammy that I needed tomatoe extract but can find it . It's not tomatoe paste. It's richer. He packed me some with no charge and gave me tips in using it. Can't wait to use it.

Delicious food, great service from the owner Sam, and the restaurant was beautiful, clean, simple and in a great location. We sat outside on this lovely Saturday evening, this place is one of my dad's favorites and I finally tried it today. Super glad I did! We will be coming back again next year

Cool place and location! They definitely have great service and make you feel at home. But the food... ughh the food. They had us at pizza and beer. It's like milk and cookies for adults. My husband had a cheese slice. Then they asked me what I would like.. I asked for cheese and mushroom, and I got it! But what they did was give me an already cooked soggy slice of pizza, reheating it with more cheese and mushrooms. I could have gone home and doctored up my own frozen pizza, and it would have tasted better. I'm not sure why they would serve that and be proud to take my money. It all went to the trash tbh. It's a great place location wise and set up, but they should serve better pizza. I tried taking two bites with a fork and knife because it was soggier than lasagna. It had no flavor or crisp.

Pizza was solid. Well placed topping and they were courteous over the phone. Would definitely recommend.

What an absolute treat!!! My friend and I went in for a quick slice of pizza before a concert at Viejas arena and were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the size and flavor of our pizza slices. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and the ambiance, especially the cozy two-seater table tucked away by the window, added to the charm. There was also a ton of beer/ wine available for purchase. We can't wait to return and explore more of the menu!

Mazara Trattoria is like every other place you see back east, like in NYC, cheesy signs on the windows, almost divey looking? Like why would you order pizza from there? Type of place. Well, in spite of all my very conscious bias I decided I wanted to try it! We walked in, past the Liquor Store area and onto the dining room area. We got seated on a pedestal right by the window like some very attractive mannequins. A little embarrassing to be on display, but we figure hey, we'll help them fill up the place : - D Our waitress was very nice and patient with us as we looked over the menu. We started off with the Scampi Trulli Vinci with shrimp, tomato, artichoke and white wine sauce- it was really good, the sauce was very delicious and something you want to keep dipping your bread in! We decided to order their spaghetti and added meatballs and my husband had their lassgana. Both come with a small garden salad, and bread. Both generous portions! For drinks- you are free to browsed the "liquor store" and bring your drink to the table- pretty cool! Both dishes were really good, and tasked like something you'd eat at your Italian Friends grandmother or mothers house. Definitely a "homey" , comfort food feeling. We were really glad we gave Mazara Trattoria a chance and are happy they proved me wrong!

Excellent beer selection for such a small location. Grabbed a unique caramel cider. The service was really good and the guy at the front counter was very friendly. The inside is so cute! It has a full restaurant inside but also a full liquor store and a board head sando place, great prices, would definitely go again.

Tirumisu, Baklava and wine!

This was one of the first restaurants we visited when my interim employment in San Diego began last September 2022 and it remains one of our favorites. The food is great - we've had both their pizza and pasta. Extensive wine selection and the added benefit of a large assortment of beer to buy and take home. We just stopped by again to enjoy their tirumisu and baklava with a nightcap. Service is always friendly and attentive and they play great music.

Deeply upset and saddened by my first experience here, so much so I will never return. Advertisement outside of the restaurant clearly states their lunch pizza deal. However a single pie and lasagna (which they also told me was 7.99) turned out to be 46$. The food wasn't that good, when I called back to contest the prices, neither of the two workers I talked to were willing to hear my complaint or do anything about it. Both shirked responsibility and told me to come back or call back later. Really disappointing customer service and food. One of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten. I don't know how else to say how upsetting this was, and how poorly I was treated. I'd give it 0 stars if I could and will never return. I'm amazed they are still in business with terrible food and service like this.

Price of an IPA. Almost 3 times more then 7/11
Ezequiel H.

Only went here because my friend has been coming here for 15 years. Price wise f food wasn't too bad. But when I grappled an ipa on my way out, the cans don't have prices on them. Thought it was gonna be somewhat reasonable, I think I grabbed a vodoo ranger. I just found out I paid $8.95 for a $3 beer. With that being said, I don't think I'll be coming back. It's ridiculous. They might as well use a gun if they wanna rob me.

I was a bit hesitant because I typically cook my noodles IN the sauce versus topping them with sauce but this meal did not disappoint. Both the meat in the ravioli and sauce were very flavorful. The garlic bread was typical but still really tasty. The waitress was nice and hospitable. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant is located in the back of what looks like a store in front. I appreciate a nice whole in the wall, mom & pop shop. I'd definitely return next time I'm in SD.

The spinach raviolis were excellent--flavorful, perfectly cooked, and definitely the highlight of my meal. Unfortunately, the veal was a major disappointment. It was extremely tough and difficult to cut and chew. I ended up leaving almost the entire entrée on my plate because I simply couldn't enjoy it. My husband and I both commented that it didn't have the tenderness or delicate texture we normally associate with veal. True veal should be tender, fine-grained, and easy to cut with a fork, but this was quite the opposite. Based on this experience, I would not order another meat entrée from this restaurant. It's unfortunate because the ravioli showed that the kitchen is capable of preparing excellent food. I hope the restaurant will review the quality of the meat it serves, as it made an otherwise pleasant visit very disappointing.

This place was absolutely amazing. To start off with the most important part, the food. We began…read morethe meal with the mini fried calzones with mozzarella and tomato sauce inside and they were great. You could tell the bread was super fresh and high quality so I would recommend it. Next, we got a glass of prosecco. I told the waiter that I only like wine that tastes much more sweet then bitter or strong and he made a perfect suggestion along with giving us a sampler of 3 different wines which was so generous. I got to try them all and pick the one I liked the most, but even the samples were a generous size. For main course I got one of the current options for the cheese wheel pasta they make in front of you in cacio e pepe and my husband got the formaggi pizza with truffle mushrooms. My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. The cream was so light and fluffy that we had to get another one to bring home and eat tomorrow night! I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.

It was a Friday evening and every restaurant on the street was full and vibrant. You could Yelp these places all day long and it would be hard to choose. There's so many great restaurants around Little Italy. Mimmo's reached out and called us in. There were pretty white tablecloths, the hostess was smiling ready to answer any questions and of course, the menu looked wonderful. Voilà! We'd found our spot. Our waiter was so personable and had all the answers to our inquiries. He suggested items and even answered honestly when needed. I got a Le Pécora Nera Sangria (fizzy blackberry with lemon). Tasty, but too many blackberry seeds coming up the straw. I'd get another one next time. For the appetizers: RISOTTO ARANCINI (a MUST get) - these were absolutely delicious. Four good size bread crumbed fried balls of risotto sitting in the restaurant's own tomato gravy. HOMEMADE FOCACCIA WITH DIPPING OIL (yes, that's the official name) - this is a basket of super soft, warm focaccia bread for a great price. I would get it no matter what main course you're getting! It soaks up every sauce and it's just delicious. MAIN: BAKED LASAGNA (meat) - with the two appetizers this is the perfect size for both of us. No need to get one per person! It was absolutely wonderful. I would get it again. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful and the employees we came in contact with were great as well. We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant. A solid recommendation on my part.

It's right in the heart of Little Italy on India Street in between all of the other wonderful Italian restaurants. When we walked up. They have patio seating as well as inside dining. We decided to do inside dining as it was starting to get chilly outside. We were immediately seated by a wonderful hostess, and that made a positive impression upon us. The whole hostess staff had great smiles on their faces and they were very welcoming. After about two minutes of sitting down, our server came to ask us if we needed time to look over the menu. We said yes but that we wanted a Foccacia Bread table starter. She smiled and immediately went to put the order in. A few few minutes later she came back and we ordered our drinks for dinner: Raspberry Italian Soda, Orange Crush with Fresh Cream on top, and a non-alcoholic spritz. After we got our drinks and sip on them, it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. We all know that the burger here is fantastic! However, this evening, we decided to try new things. We ordered: Pappardelle Bolognese with Added Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese as it is normally prepared, and a Caesar salad with shrimp added. Our food was out within about 10 to 15 minutes and everything was prepared perfectly. I have to say that we really enjoyed dining in this location and we may need to come back here more instead of traveling to the Del Mar location sometimes. Our server was super customer service oriented and we appreciated her. She went above and beyond to get the orange crush drink to be unique like an Italian soda for my daughter. We were super stuffed and could not do dessert, but we did promise to come back to enjoy the lava cake at a future time. Overall, this was an excellent visit and we appreciate the staff in the great energy that we received at this location. I do highly recommend it.

While I appreciated the hospitality, I don't see myself returning for the cuisine.
